Stopped in for lunch. I wasn't overly impressed. I asked for dark meat the woman serving was unpleasant to begin with and said she couldn't give me the two legs. I didn't like the other items so she gave me a chicken breast and as you can see that is the tiniest chicken breast I've ever seen. The Mac n cheese would have been good if they added some seasoning it was so bland. The mashed potatoes are clearly boxed. The black eyed peas again no flavor. Two of us ate and the bill was $45. That's a lot of money for hardly any meat a bunch of bland sides, and an unpleasant server. Definitely won't be back. Lastly the bathroom was clean and so was the dining area but it's very outdated and it was as WAY too hot we were sweating eating. I think they need to have their HVAC service read more

It has been awhile since I've eaten here and I can honestly say it just gets better with time! This is by far the best meat and three around. The service is top notch, and the restaurant is clean and friendly. The food is so good, and I've never had a bad meal here. I will keep coming back time and again for this level of food! read more

Here with the crew showed up with my four buddies. I am actually still here, just sitting on the seat in the room inside the building where you are allowed to relieve yourself. Guess it went through fast, that's what good food does to you. Talking about kids with two of my buddies. One of them has 2 kids and 14 grand kids. I haven't really done the math yet but I am hoping to once I pull my calculator out. I was asking the other buddy who has 5 kids about if he's done. Just OK. Breakfast was served fairly quickly. I asked to have cheese added to my scrambled eggs and they added so much that it was half cheese, which made it a little weird.. Disappointing to have only the options of white or wheat toast of some airy type of brand. Would have appreciated the addition of rye, raisin or English muffin. read more

Nice! I get to be the very first to review this. My friend from the area gave me a heads-up about Dyar's. We are not free during weekdays, so he said that the only window to eat at this institution was Sunday mid-morning. Dyar's was my first true cafeteria line meat and 3 in these parts. I expected a lot more, but most places just slop something down from the kitchen that you never get to look at. It is a bit pricier than most, at $9 a plate, but I assure you that the quality of the grub is worth it. It will stick to your ribs and weigh you down for hours on end. I went with a turkey and dressing plate, which is few and far between nowadays. No point in passing up a rare meal. The turkey was slightly dry, but the butter-yellow gravy made up for it. The moist dressing was perfectly mealy and soft, but still scoopable. The macaroni and cheese had a great crusty, but moist and chewable top. The black-eyed peas still had a snap, and they were perfectly seaonsoned. The stewed tomatoes would have been my favorite, but they were barely lukewarm. They were sweet, and I have never had the reds more creamy and thick. Almost like a bread pudding... made of tomatoes. Dyar's is a must-eat if you are the least bit into food, classic sites, or just road trips in general. Heck, even if you do not like any of the 3, just go for a meat and 3. Even if you are a vegetarian. Dyar's is awesome. read more

I try and stop by Dyars at least once a week for breakfast. It's almost like eating at home. The servers are always friendly, the food comes fast and it's consistently good. You can always find someone to talk with and the coffee is hot. If you stay too long you can get in the lunch line! read more

As always found this joint with Yelp and was not disappointed. Went on Saturday morning so not crowded. Fried chicken was crispy fried on outside and moist inside. Macaroni and cheese was as good as I have ever had. Next trip down to this area will find me back here!! read more

Great food. Only issue is it's closed on Saturdays. Hidden gem in Pendleton. Food is always fresh and delicious with great customer service.

You have to go to Dyar's! I heard about this place from some friends in the area....not only are they open on Sundays but their food is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! For how much food you get I think their prices are pretty reasonable, plus tax is already included in the total cost. The group I went with all tried a variety of their sides and meats....and not one person was disappointed. A few of the things we tried were the roast beef, turkey and dressing, fried steak, mac n cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy (both brown and country), potato salad, green beans, biscuits and more....all sooo good! We definitely all left feeling very happy and full :) If you have the chance, go to Dyar's for home cooking at its finest!! I will be going back there the next chance I get! read more

Went there on 4/22/16 for breakfast. My wife ordered scrambled eggs with sausage and grits. There was no real butter for the grits, the sausage was bland and the onions she asked for in the eggs were not even cut into small pieces. I had a biscuit with gravy and sausage; it was cold, not even warm when I got it. It also took a long time to get our food and the diner wasn't even busy. The waitress was friendly though. My daughter treated me to lunch on Father's Day, first time there, and it was great...really liked the cafeteria style service, food of great quality, and clean restaurant. It was Sunday and we went early...a good move as when we left around 12:30 the line was out of the door...lots of folks know how good it is. Now it is on my go to place for a full meal with choice of meat and vegetables! So glad she introduced us to Dyar's Diner!! read more
