It's not the food or the atmosphere that makes this place iconic...it's the people...both friends and those who are yet to be friends. Keep going, don't go to this one. Have been here 4 times and each time it just got worse. The workers have bad attitude. You will not be able to get a 2nd cup of coffee. Service for some people was better than for others, but not by much. When we have gone here we have given tips based on the service we received but never below 10% of the tab. Don't expect a good tip if I don't get my decaf coffee until half way through my breakfast or if I don't get a coffee refill. So that is the service: mostly rude. Now to the food: that is random, sometimes it is good some times not so good. It seems like the cook tries to do a good job. The hash browns last time were very greasy. Last time I was here about a month ago the server never brought us another cup of coffee but did spend a lot time sweeping the floor. We won't be back. Its 2am.... and as my son and I stepped into the Waffle House, the soulful and sultry voice of Macy Gray boomed from the juke box. When the lyric, "I try to say good bye and I choke...." reverberated across throughout the restaurant, they met me and reminded me of a past love interest.... For a second my appetite waned; but after looking at the single waitress Beaute serve up a delicious looking steak and eggs to an aging trucker, it quickly returned. The service is terrible. I'm never greeted, the last two times I've gone I've sat down and stayed in my seat for over 20 minutes without a hello, drink, or even silverware. I'll watch them clean the tables in front of me so they know I'm there but nobody services me. I get an hour for my lunch break it takes me 10-15 to get there so any time I have gone there it's completely waisted my lunch break. This is the worst location. The employees are crap. I went there this morning (10/31/20) about 0430. My son had a fishing tourney out of town and I wanted to send some breakfast sandwiches with him for his boat. I was in a hurry and the staff did a fair enough job of getting me out in time and the food was as expected, but this place was a mess. I seriously considered just going somewhere else, but didn't have any other options at this time of morning. The staff was nice and pleasant, except for that one kid that's constantly complaining about working and life in general. I asked my mom to make this our first stop after she picked me and the little one up from the airport. How I dream of the Waffle House when I think about a delicious down home breakfast, so when I spotted that yellow and black sign from the highway, a big smile slowly spread across my face. We were greeted by EVERYONE who worked there as walked in. A jolly waitress came over and asked how we were doing and told us to holler at her when we were ready to order. My mouth instantly started watering as I looked at the menu but I quickly placed my order. The All-American breakfast for me: Two strips of bacon, grits with LOTS of butter, scrambled eggs with cheese, hash browns smothered and covered and a waffle--of course. My daughter had a waffle and the server asked if she would like it n the shape of Minnie Mouse (of course she said yes) and two sausage patties; and my mom had the country ham sandwich. It's the Waffle House, I absolutely love the Waffle House! However this location could be better. The grill operator was spot on. The food was cooked perfectly, couldn't have asked for more. The waitress was professional and experienced. She was kind and patient even though she was pretty busy. The only downside to this location is the cleanliness, or the lack. It is in need of a thorough deep cleaning. The health rating here is only a 78 at the time. If you don't mind the grime, not a bad place to be. The service was not very good when I went there for a meal. For starters, they didn't even take my order until about 10 minutes after I had sat down, and even then, they took other people's orders ahead of mine, despite their having been there at a later time than I was. I had ordered a steak, and they seemed to finally get started on it about 15 minutes after I had placed the order (I had now been there for almost a half hour). Before it was ready, some other guy sitting at another area flagged down the waitress, and insisted that his steak be "piping hot," and wanted it early. Keep in mind, he had shown up about 10 minutes after I had gotten there. So, the waitress gave him my steak instead, making me wait another 15 minutes. By the time I got my food, I had no time left to eat there, so I simply asked for it to go. The steak that was given to me wasn't even the steak I had ordered, either. When I told the waitress that it wasn't the right steak, she offered to have another one cooked for me, but by that time, I had to leave, and couldn't wait for another 45 minutes. The only reason why I gave them the second star, is because they didn't charge me for the steak. I won't be going back there again. In their defense, maybe they were understaffed that day, or maybe they were breaking in a lot of new people, but even then, 45 minutes is too long to wait to receive a meal at a Waffle House. read more

We went on a Sunday around 11am. They were very busy. After some people left they were quick in cleaning up the counter top. Service by Jazz was excellent. All of our food came out exactly as we ordered. One suggestion is they really needed someone to sweep the floors. I know they were busy but when I sat at the counter there was egg on the floor. I also observed food all over the floor in the cooking area. One thing I thought was unusual was this Waffle House had a nice, clean mens room with air freshner. Called in to make a takeout order for my family after a 8 plus hour trip from North Carolina! Only to call in be placed on hold with hearing the workers debating on FELT LIKE TAKING A TOGO ORDER! We came in around 8:45 to eat here last night and this place actually had what looked to be a full staff of workers. No other customers in the place.. besides 2 guys that came in about a minute after us. A lady told us to sit where we wanted to and that was the extent of the communication we had from anyone who worked there. No menu, no drink order, no silverware--nothing. They completely ignored our presence and when we finally got up and left they never acknowledged us nor the other two guys that came in and they got up and left as well. One would think that during Covid that restaurants would be more than happy to see customers and want them to return but apparently this location could care less. I walked inside not knowing the covid steps to take ie. seat yourself or have someone seat you. I stood in the middle of lobby for 2-3 minutes ( felt like an hour ) and not one person even acknowledged my presence so I took upon myself to sit at a table ( still not knowing if this was ok but I had zero direction) then the wait continued and not to order to just be acknowledged. I get there at 2:00am restaurant and it's no even half full. I stood up at the bar for 35 min before my order was even taken. 3.
