Pecan Waffle and Drink
Jessica N.

Went to brunch here with my friend, they were able to seat us in the last available booth very quickly! They had very prompt service, with our food being out about 5 minutes after we had ordered it! Waffle House has always been one of my favorites, I think it's an underrated restaurant. I actually love being able to watch them cook the food in front of you, kind of an American Hibachi? lol, all jokes aside the ambience of an old school diner, is something I enjoy as well. The food was very good & hot! We were able to get in and out quickly, thanks to the fast service. The bill was surprisingly low as well! Only $23 for both of us to have brunch, including our drinks. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an affordable yet hearty meal, make sure to tip your wait staff to show your appreciation as well

I think this was only my second Waffle House Experience and it was great! We got seated in a booth after a short 5 minute wait. Coffee was in front of me a minute after that. The service was great! The team was cohesive and worked well together. The waffle was good, it was thinner than I'm used to. The bacon stole the show. It was AMAZING! Flavorful and cooked beautifully! Great service, great food!

It was my first time with the opportunity to go to too Waffle House. I know my family thinks I'm nuts, but it was spectacular!!! Lol. I got the hash with cheese and onions, the waffle was amaze balls, and how can you hate sausage?! The staff was wonderful, the place was so cute and busy! I wish I had more time to go a second time but convincing my peeps to go seemed like an ordeal. I guess I'm just weirdo for the classics that we don't get on the west coast. Until we meet again Waffle House lol.

Review Visit: December 30th, 2012 I've been here multiple times and never had the waffles. Yet. My first real visit to a Waffle House was during my trip to Florida in 2012. It was at the tail end of a great night... and with it being Spring Break, it was quite a hopping place with party people everywhere. It was such a good time that I didn't get photos while there. So a bunch of us ended up visiting one later that year on a trip to St. Louis. This visit was at the end of a long day exploring around St. Louis. We were hungry, slightly tired and ready for a break from driving and sightseeing. If I remember right, I had been the only to try a Waffle House, so my friends were in for a treat. We stopped around 10pm and it was slow. Staff was quick to seat us and get our drinks. While everyone deliberated on what to order, I went for what I had in Panama City Beach. The TEXAS BACON LOVERS BLT! So we all ordered food and waited. If you have ever been to a Waffle House, you'll know the food comes out quick and the prices are cheap, cheap, cheap! This visit was no exception. They also shout orders at the chefs, which enhances the experience. The Texas BLT was just as good as I hazily remembered. Ying loved the bacon so much (can't blame her) that she ordered a bunch to go. Everyone else enjoyed their meal, too. Since this visit, I have been back to another Waffle House and it was just as good. People I've talked to either love or hate Waffle House, so you may not share the same praise I have for the place. But it is my favorite fast food diner chain.

All-Star Special Breakfast

For literal YEARS I have been anti Waffle House. I've had it in many states + it just never hit for me like it seems to for others. Maybe it's because most people I know grew up with it + it's a cultural staple... but its always been, MEH for me lol Well, here I am stating that this trip to St Louis may have changed my mind about that. My brother wanted to visit since we don't have WH in California + I didn't want to be the reason he couldn't go, so I sucked it up + we pulled up (once turned into twice). First visit I ordered the All-star breakfast with a regular waffle, bacon, over medium eggs, smothered + covered hash browns + a biscuit and let me tell you something... that biscuit + bacon SHMACKED! Lol I seriously don't know what they did, but that was some of the best bacon ive ever had. The flavor was hittin + the biscuit was perfectly fluffy while still crispy on the outside. The waffle was good too, thats one thing I always gave WH... I mean, as it should be LOL I wish they'd put more cheese on the hash browns, but those were crispy, just as I like them. Overall, I can't say I wasn't satisfied. The second time we went was late night + we ordered to go. I got the cheesesteak melt + maaaaannnnnnn! Throw a little mayo + ketchup on there + you're DEFINITELY going to enjoy it! If nothing else, I highly recommend that sandwich!!! The service was good on both visits + the food came out pretty quickly each time. Hats off to STL because before, I was talking mad trash about WH lol Now I might actually be a fan...

We don't have a Waffe House in our state so whenever we see one on our travels, we make an effort. You always know what the food will taste like. We had the pecan waffle and although you can't see the pecans trust me they are there! Had my fav, hash browns smothered and covered! This was a newer place so everything was clean. They had plastic between the Botha and stools not in use. Our waitress was friendly. Food came out in a quick minute and coffee was great. For the price you can't beat it.

wouldn't be a road trip South without a Waffle house stop. The food is classic no matter where you go it will be the same Good it does change with seasons but always excellent. Behind the counter it runs like a fine oiled machine

Arrives was "ok" and I have definitely had better Waffle House food but it wasn't the worst either. Very average for this chain.

The bar itself is gorgeous and the selection of drink drinks and what they have on tap is more than I've seen anywhere else. The service is pretty much immediate, the mixed drinks are fantastic (and I am very finicky about my mixed drinks), and the food....OMG THE FOOD! I really don't like burgers, but the person I was with got a burger and it was amazing and insisted I tried it and let me tell you, it was the best freaking burger I've ever tasted my entire life! I went there a second time, on a Saturday night, and it was very busy, but service was still very quick, my mixed drink was perfect, music was great, but not too loud where you couldn't hold a conversation and they even had security! At a bar/restaurant on Main Street in Collinsville!! as a tiny little female, who happen to be there with her tiny little female family member, I felt super safe and had a great time! So if you're looking for somewhere to go eat, I suggest Sloans, (I just found out they did brunch on weekends and I can't wait to try that, plus they have a full Lent menu, so no having to search while I'm allowed to eat on a Friday right now!). And if you're looking for a place to hang out and have a good time, while still feeling safe, with good service and good drinks later on in the evening, go to Sloan's!

We had ordered one of their lunch specials- pizza with 2 toppings and small side salad for 11. Good deal, right? Well our bill had the $11 as expected but $1 for each ingredient so we were charged $13 instead of 11. One of friends went to ask the waitress- she was aware but wasn't sure how to change it. Geez at least tell us about it. The main bar /restaurant area is pretty cute but I thought the restroom could use some upgrades.

Then garlic cheesy bread to toasted ravioli. Then a shrimp in sauce. Followed by bone in wings. The wings I believe were buffalo style. The garlic Cheese bread was amazing. You had the options of moscaholi, tortellini, chicken Parmesan, and a beef bruschetta? All were good and fulfilling. Then they ended it with cheese cake. Huge slices we had food left over they allowed us to box up the rest to take home. To drink I had a Bellini which was nice and refreshing. Some of my coworkers had the chocolate martini they loved a lot!! I'd love to go back on my own time to eat here. I've heard great things about their egg plant... Parking is street or there's a lot in the back area. I love their Tiffany lamps in the main dinning area. We sat in the back room that's used for events. If your company has a party here. They were good but a couple bones had very little meat. The apple "cobbler" consisted of apples with some oats on top... no crust or dough at all. Typically leaving just "concessions".. you know pizza slices, hot dogs... "ballpark filler" Enter stage left... Longshots Atmosphere: Country music vibe (something desperately missing from the Mo/IL st. Louis scene. (As much as I loved Honky Tonk's... when thst's pretty much all there is) With new bands every day the restaurant is open. It just happened I picked "Nelly Day" to spend the day at, so things were running later than usual - so thr live band for lunch was a little later than normal. (And they were closing for "Special events".) So the atmosphere from the servers and bartenders was kind of hard to judge due to the awkward hours but if the few here today were the norm... you will be in Good hands So the food: Reasonably healthy portions for the burgers and pizza (of corse all with a bzrbecue flavor... maybe next time I'll definitely hit the Pork Pit. But obviously expect somewhat higher prices ($$$ of 5 in my opinion) So expect higher prices as part of the Fairmont Park Complex but you cannot complain about the fact that Longshots is a much needed addition to making Fairmont Park a FULL entertainment experience.
