We encountered a challenge while trying to dine out on a Monday evening. Everything was closed or closing early. We found this was still open and popped in. It was not busy. But the waiter seemed to be host, waiter, bus boy...and none of it fast. I don't know why, but people came after us, ordered, ate, paid, and left before we got our food. It was a long hour+ wait. No explanation. We were not in a hurry but I'm always baffled when you have such a super long wait with no explanation and no apology. Seeing people come and go as we waited was bizarre. My food was good. Chicken buffalo sandwich and mashed potatoes. Very homey. As we neared the end of eating, our Jack-of-all-trades waiter brought the check and informed us they were closed and seemed to clearly be rushing us out. Umm. I'm not typically one to leave reviews--in fact, this may be my first--but I felt this experience warranted it. We ordered takeout, and while the food was warm, the quality was unbelievably poor. I ordered the Everette's Farmhouse Breakfast Platter, and not only were the biscuits and gravy missing, but the hashbrowns were so overdone they were stuck together--you couldn't even get through them, let alone bite into them. There was even a burn hole through the box, which I can only assume came from their food heater. The eggs were alright and honestly the only part of the meal that was edible. Service was ok. Our waitress didn't seem too cheery or friendly. The other waitress was though. Decor is an improvement from what huddle house was. Our main meals were pretty good. We did our a half dozen donuts thinking they were going to be warm and fresh. I guess that's what we get for thinking and not asking. Donuts finally came at the end of our meal and we were surprised when they were cold. read more

Tried this place for the first time tonight and it was good. I had a horseshoe sandwich which was one big hamburger patty on toast and a few thin steak fries with beer cheese on top. Delish! I'd like to try some of their other menu items as this seems to have a fuller menu than the Huddle House (this restaurant replaced it) had. Server was okay but I did not see her smile once. But my folks tipped her well anyway. We were the only people in the place, so...anyway, I'll be back some other time read more

it takes a lot for me to take time and leave a review. after an hour of waiting for the food we asked for boxes so that we could immediately leave with our kids. they were prioritizing door dash over in house customers. we finally received the food, left cash on the table, and got out of there. of course, the order was wrong AND items were missing, and the food was ridiculously below average for the price. not to mention that the kitchen staff wore no gloves or hairnets, and used their hands to place food on the plates after running their fingers through their hair. zero apology or discount. read more

The menu menu was more varied than usual truck stuck stop type places. They give free ice cream cones at the end of the meal, and the donuts are beautiful. One caveat: it is not as fast as a truck stop so it may take a beat or two longer. read more

I came to town take my mom to lunch. We came to Eddie's at lunch on 12/27/25. There was only 3 other people in the store. We waited for about 10 minutes and they never served us. My mom got up to let them know we were there. As she came back to the table a young lady said ( good for you) . Sad that the work force is this way . read more

I am absolutely disgusted with the service. My grandmother and I came in and sat down. We waited for 10 minutes before a waitress even acknowledged us. We then made our orders and waited. Maybe 15 minutes later a table of 7 came in and got theyre drinks and food served to them before we even received our two sweet teas. Then, our orders got left on the serve table where the waitress grabs them and serves them for 30 minutes. By the time we got our food it was cold. I am so mad about the way we were treated and the service was terrible. No tip and we will not ever return to this establishment. Waitress was a short brunnette with hair about to her lower torso. A local suggested we go here for a meal before heading home. We arrived but think it only recently took over the Huddle House previously at this location in front of the Walmart in Highland, IL. The service provided to our table by Summer was great. The chicken tenders I had and the chicken salad croissant she had were both pretty good for the prices. It appeared clean and fairly busy on this rainy morning. We may return. read more

I would urge everyone to avoid the Eddie's Rise N' Dine located at highway 4 and I-64, where Huddle House used to be. They don't seem to want your business. My wife and I decided to try them out, having stopped going to Huddle House because the service had gotten so bad. We arrived at 7:40. Their sign said they were open until 8:00. The automatic door wouldn't open, so we assumed it was broken. We went around through the Pilot store, and the sign for the restaurant said "Yes, We're Open". We walked in, and I told the woman who greeted us that their front door wasn't working. She said it was locked because they were already closed. I asked her what time they closed and she acknowledged 8:00. I told her it was only 7:40 and she said she knew that, but they had already shut down the kitchen, because they close in 20 minutes. Sorry, they really close whenever they want. Not worried about customers I guess. I worked in restaurants during both my military and college days, and not once did any place I work ever close down the kitchen before closing time. If someone walked in at 1 minute before closing time, they were served. Stay away from Eddie's! read more

Our Server, Summer D., is excellent. We go there 2 to 3 times a week & are always happy to have Summer as our server. She is one of the main reasons we go there. Good prices, Very good food . Omelette, Pancakes. Very nice staff. This place replaced a Huddle House. Eddie's is good.

All around okay service except having to wait over an hour for our food , when it eventually came out most of them had minor mistake and mostly all cold or lukewarm at best . the server though was great and did the best she could. read more

I found a staple in my food, chicken tenders were poorly seasoned and they were dry. Also the service was poor because they forgot our menus and our silverware. It was pretty quiet in here. I also enjoyed the music. read more
