Fast service, clean, and great food! When I pulled in, the first thing I noticed was a group of local firefighters at the front door. I knew then the food was going to be good! Now I know what we usually say...the cleaner the Waffle House, the worse the food. This location is the exception to the rule. The restaurant was one of the cleanest Waffle Houses I've been in, and the food was great! My table all had All Star specials and they did not disappoint. The service was also good, too. Horrible service period. Waitress had an attitude to the point that the cook had to tell her to take my order. She came to the table and didn't even greet us. Food was okay until a roach appeared out of nowhere. Waitress did not have on mask and kept scratching her dreads with her long blue nails whiteout washing them afterwards. They need a training course on HOW to answer the phone. After the seventh call, they picked up with nothing but attitude. I would understand if they were busy but there was literally no one in there. UPDATE: Need phone training all around. I was put on hold for five minutes then they hung up, called back immediately and got put on hold again. This time the waitresses did not completely soak my food in poison...But I have my money where my mouth is and these women were not nice to other women. Nor are they multiculturally friendly. Workplace used as a social environment by employees. It just happens to be a prime example of why it's so hard to find a Waffle House on the Southside. Walked in, was spoken to, and totally ignored for over to 7 to 10 minutes. I seated at the counter so that I could be served immediately, closest to the waitresses. Was not busy at all. Five waitresses behind the counter not one asked if I wanted anything. I heard nothing but jibber-jabber about people's personal life hair getting done, I don't have time for that, and what is that got to do with me. I just immediately got up and walked out. No one asked me did I want anything can I get you something to drink. This is not what I'm used to at a Waffle House. Normally I'm asked and greeted by everyone. The food is okay here but the attitudes suck. And I don't like Waffle House that much anyway. I have been here three times in the past 2 years. So for wasting my time and trying to make me drink water. And for commenting that it's strange that I didn't want a beverage. This location get's a 2.5 Stars from me. Waffle Houses are known for being the go-to spots for people (drunks like the crew I was with) to eat after a night out on the town, but this location is too ratchet even for a Southside person like me. This is a hang out spot for the blk trucker. Old black men former truckers I suppose hang out here. Sharing old stories, shooting the shit and just enjoying one another's commaradary. It was nice to be greeted by them all as they continued in their social commentary. The waitress was courteous and and professional in her duties. The cook, the brother can cook. Went to this local WH on New Years Day and it was busy. They handled the service very well and the food came out fresh. Only hiccup was they made a mistake on one of the orders, they were apologetic and it was corrected right away. The service is always good, very attentive. They refilled our drinks multiple times and offered to go options. Can't go wrong at WH, definitely will prefer over an IHOP. read more

I went into this place this morning for breakfast, and the place was very nasty, the many waitress they had were standing around laughing with one another... I had to ask them would they clean off the counter so that my son and I could sit down. I set their for 20 minutes for I ask someone to take my order. The lady said nobody took your order ,she took the order. We waited for awhile before we got the food, she brought everything out but the bacon. I asked where my bacon, she brought it to me uncooked almost. I then asked her where was my coffee, and I heard her say could somebody get this lady she's getting on my nerves! Friendly service, but poor management. Ordered. Told it will be 40 minutes before they'll have hash browns, none prepped. After most of our All Star breakfasts were delivered to table they told us the blueberries for our waffles were locked in the commissary and the manager had said he was going to the bank for about 30 minutes but he had been gone for more than 3 hours.
