Manager Clarence is engaging, hardworking, and has created such a welcoming environment, and it shows in every interaction. The classic, old-school music added a fun, relaxed vibe, and the whole restaurant had a true Cheers-like atmosphere, with the regulars laughing and bantering with the team. It honestly felt like I was in someone's kitchen rather than a restaurant. The new manager has clearly turned this location around because I experienced nothing but hospitality! Marissa was wonderful to us this morning! We arrived fairly early and found an open booth right away. Marissa was good at matching our energy; she was enthusiastic and prompt with everything, and made some fun jokes too that got us laughing. She has great personality. This one does the same thing, but less often. The one in Stafford is somehow even better, so I guess the Waffle House standards in this neighbourhood and in the city are very high. It's awful when they close at unscheduled times... it becomes Awful House. But when they're open, I can't stop eating until I'm full. I guess at those times, it's the I'mfull House. But I have always been in love with Waffle House Hash Browns. I get them with everything on them - even the Jalapenos, although sometimes not the cheese. Especially the chunks of ham and the chili, so good. They often make me run to the bathroom though. This place makes them as well as any... absolutely spectacular Hash Browns all the way... especially with the onions, ham, chili. And their patty melt, and chicken patty melt - sensational. And don't get me started on that awesome sausage breakfast sandwich. My reviews are full of waffle, and so is Waffle House. Match made in heaven, am I right. Next to the Super 8 and open 24/7, why not? Super sweet servers (Kagney & Rachel) were very polite and attentive. We had two meals here, late night and early breakfast. Had the cheese sandwich (with bacon) and chili for our late night meal and breakfast sandwich with bacon with sides of hash browns with gravy, plain waffle & city ham. Good waffles! Possibly even the best I have ever eaten! Had a sweet taste in them. Not sure if it was brown sugar or cinnamon or maybe both? Whatever it was, it was definitely good! Eggs were scrambled perfectly, and toast was done to perfection as well. Hash browns were excellent. Sausage patties were just ok as they were a tad dry from being a little over cooked. The biscuit with sausage gravy was not too good at all. It came to the table more on the cool side, not even warm and the taste was so bland. Definitely left a lot to be desired! I love biscuits and gravy but it was a huge disappointment here, do not get it it, I do not recommend it at all. The Restraunt itself was not the best kept to say the least. Tables were sticky and many tables were dirty in the restaurant. I know because they told us to seat ourselves so I suggested the bar, however it was dirty so we walked to the tables where the first three were dirty and the fourth one we choose as it was still wet and obviously had been cleaned. Maybe they used a dirty dish towel to clean it though? The table was sticky even after it had dried The waitress was very friendly and sweet. No complaints with her, can't remember her name but it started with a, "T". At any rate she was friendly from the first encounter as we walked through the door to the last moment as she gave us a farewell and wished us a blessed day. Definitely appreciated her warm and friendly personality and I hope you are fortunate enough to get her for your waitress should you decide to give this place a try. Prices are very reasonable and the amount of food portions are fare. My four star review is based predominantly off the excellent waitress and amazingly delicious waffles! Walked in there is one couple with small children, me and my husband ordered Togo. 30 min later a couple walks in, we are still waiting for our food, and they're seated. 45 min later the couple who is seated was given their waffles to eat, we are still waiting for our food. Don't bother. Friend and I came in when it was slow; around 3 pm on a Sunday. There were maybe 3 occupied tables, and the bar top. We sat down at the only clean table. The other tables still had stacked up plates or other mess. We waited for 15 minutes and still, no one bothered to help us or clean the other tables. Also, we got to watch ants crawling around and in the sugar and napkin holder. That was great. After my buddy spent some time admiring them, we bounced. Hopefully Waffle House actually reads these reviews. You need a manager and staff that gives a damn. And you need an exterminator. And... The other reviews about the cleanliness are accurate. I have been to this location several times in the past and have never complained. But what i experienced this evening was terrible service. I ordered online during my lunch break and received a text message stating that it would be ready in 15 minutes. I had already paid for my food so in my opinion it should have been top priority. The cook decided to make a table of 9's food before mine. I was told by a worker that it would be an extra 15 minutes so I decided to wait. I waited my whole 30 minute lunch and the only thing that was prepared was my waffle which would have been cold if they came out with my other food. When I asked for a refund I was told I had to wait for a manager and to leave me number. I declined and let them know i would be coming back once I was off. It took at least a good 20 minutes for us to get our food and normally I wouldn't complain, but the food wasn't even warm. How does your food come out cold at a Waffle House?! Hilarious service! Well one it's waffle house. You come for the food only. Don't expect much in decor or service folks. The lady brought us our food and got the sides of bacon & pan sausage mixed up. Overall, the staff here is very friendly and accommodating, the food is good and always fresh, and the staff work hard to ensure the restaurant is always as clean as possible (it can get somewhat dirty during the busy hours of the week, but not much can be done about that). By far the worst service I have ever received at a Waffle House. We were sat down and not one person came to take our order til about 10 minutes and when one did it was one with the worst attitude. The utensils she gave us still had left over food stuck on them. She takes our order and writes everything down but still managed to get the order wrong. We got part of our orders and still had to wait another 15 minutes to get the rest of the order and to make it worst the bacon was completely burnt. It was pointless to even complain at this point. My wife and I both ordered a waffle bacon and hashbrown and a cup of coffee.
