Honestly pretty solid place! This has been my go-to crawfish place since 2022. I've tried a handful of stuff and have yet to be disappointed. Not sure how I haven't heard about this place before but I sure am glad I'm in the know now! We tried The Famous Crab last night and we might be hooked. This place is a seafood lover's dream! The seafood was cooked to perfection, everything had good flavor, the sauces were thick and held onto the seafood well, and there were a ton of options no matter what seafood you like to order. They even have good options for non seafood lovers, there's something for everyone. We had the Medium Feast(a seafood boil), an order of wings, and the Texan Platter which is a mix of fried shrimp and fish. Delicious... seriously. I'm going to come back and just get wings at some point, they were fire. I can't decide what was my favorite. I also really liked that they give you plenty of lemons and butter with your order, and each table has a nice setup with ketchup, Cajun seasoning, and paper towels. For the seafood boil we ordered Full House seasoning at the hot heat level, it was nice and spicy and had good flavor too. If we wanted to sweat we could probably go up to the next spice level, but will probably stick with that flavor as our main. There is plenty of parking at the restaurant and it is near a movie theater. The restaurant was clean and the employees were very attentive. Our server Lexi was great, she had a lot of tables but she paid such great attention to us and we never went without. She was awesome and was a big part of the reason we had a fantastic experience. The food was alright and I've had better seafood boils. We had a reservation but we were waiting for two more people and we were told that we needed to wait for the whole party to be there to be seated. Which was pretty frustrating but we were patient enough to wait. We finally got seated and the food was just fine. Nothing too special and honestly the seasonings could have been better. Our waiter was pretty nice so I'm grateful for that. The restaurant felt stuffy to me because I went whenever it was packed which is okay due to that. Yet I still found a lot of trash around my table like it wasn't cleaned properly. I even found a whole corn under my seat and I don't eat corn. I recently visited the famous crab with my family Yesterday night and unfortunately, our experience was far from enjoyable. we found a beetle in our food and my husband actually bit into it. We immediately called for the manager and he told us "sorry i'll take care of it ".We waited over 20 min for someone to come back to our table , the manager nor the server came back. After 20+ minutes she walked by and we called our server over , they still made us pay for the rest of our bill. i was so disgusted in the moment we just paid for it and left. i'm Honestly disappointed because we come here pretty often. i am not a huge crab boil enthusiast, but i am all for the sport of spectating! i visited with a friend who is a crab boil enthusiast, and she absolutely loved their crab boil. i ordered a catfish po'boy because that's the kinda girl i am . the service was great, but i can't remember the servers name. it's a big restaurant, so expect there to be a lot of noise and a lot of activity. in other words, do not expect to have a quiet romantic dinner. this isn't a dig, the famous crab is very lively in a fun way! if i find myself in that area and hungry, i will definitely be stopping by again. bonne appétit read more

Porsche our waitress was very patient, nice, friendly, upbeat and her suggestions were helpful. But the food was very disappointing . For the price and the portion they give it's not worth the money.The Deluxe Cajun gumbo we ordered was good but yet it was a very small portion. The "Famous pasta" filled less than half the plate with bread on more than half on the other side. The fish platter only came with one very small fillet fish, four shrimp and a dollop of rice for $25. The drinks we received came in very small glasses. Two of their drinks would equal one at Cheddars at half the price. We could've got plates at Cheddars for that price with double the portions. There are so many places that have better prices and bigger portions. But to be fair we didn't get any of the boil and that maybe where they out due themselves. read more

This place is a hidden gem! Located inside of an old Outback Steakhouse, the Famous Crap is now our go to for seafood. I got the 9piece fried shrimp w/ regular fried, the kid got the 4piece fried catfish w/ Cajun fries, my fiancé got the Felix seafood that came with 6 fried shrimp and 2 fried catfish. She then got FOMO when the table next to us started having seafood steam bags dropped in front of them because they looked so good. So she added half a pound of crawfish. All of it was good. There was nothing bad on the table. She got to choose her seasoning on the crawfish and chose the full house (Cajun, garlic butter, lemon pepper.) My fiancé called it "food-gasmic." I tried it, and she wasn't lying. We dipped everything in it. Like I said, we are coming back. This place was great! If you like seafood, then you need to try this place. We ordered DoorDash and it was scrumptious. Their boiled shrimp was well-seasoned and not too messy. The hushpuppies were DEEEE-licious and complimented the turkey neck perfectly. We tried a lot of their food so here is the rating on each one: Gumbo = 4 Turkey necks = 3 (too salty) King crab = 5 (biggest one I've had) Scallops = 5 Shrimp skewer = 3 (only 4 shrimp a little overcooked) Crawfish tails = tasty sauce and great sauce They played good music and it wasn't too loud. Let's go in order of the suggestions 1. Food - flavor was there. When I got the shrimp and it was hot it was fire. 2. Service - we ended up having two waitresses due to us being sat in the bar area and the first one having to go on break mid way through our meal. My husband ordered a boil bag with sausage and no sausage was in there so had to wait for that for be fixed. I ordered a side of steam rice with my bag that wasn't brought out and I had to wait on that before eating. I ordered another kids meal catfish basket and she brought me a entree catfish basket and she said she didn't hear me. The food in general was ok to me the full house sauce was a bit watery in my opinion they had seasonings on the table that you could use which we did bc the bag was not seasoned at all. Crawfish were really tiny but they're not in season so that's expected. At the end the waitress didn't ask if we wanted to split the check or if some ppl were on a different ticket. My son has been begging for crabs so after reading some reviews I decided to dine here. My family of 5 arrived at 7pm on a Friday night and were seated immediately. There is music playing but not overly loud. Our waiter was very attentive and answered all of our questions about the menu. We started off with ordering the grilled oysters and calamari for appetizers. The oysters were delicious!! I didn't try the fried calamari but everyone said it was good. For entrees we got the shrimp po boy, whole catfish, Texan platter, and famous feast. The catfish had a strange taste, it definitely wasn't as good as the catfish I've had at other establishments. A friend of mine suggested this spot and said it was the best in Houston so of course I had to come try it for myself! I placed an order an order online (there is a little fee for doing this so FYI) and went to pick it up it up. Apparently, you need to present your ID to pick up the food so another FYI. I ordered the shrimp skewers and a pound of boiled shrimp with the head on. I will say the shrimp skewer wasn't all that to me, it seemed a little over cooked so it was kind of dry. I dipped it in shrimp boil sauce to jazz it up. Now the boiled shrimp was phenomenal! The seasoning is soooo good that I literally saved the leftovers to use when I got home. Next time, I'll give their fried food a try but the boiled seafood sold me. I will say, compared to other seafood spots I've frequented, they seemed just a tad bit more pricey but again, just another FYI. read more

The deluxe gumbo is really good too but not enough seafood...def skimped on that and could not call it seafood gumbo... Part of the menu with grilled options and pasta dishes was crossed out which was disappointing bc I am not a real big fried anything person... service was where it lacked the most.. no one brought us any silverware and we could not get anyones attention.. we waited to eat bc we needed a fork or something and had to use the soup spoon to cut our fish... Then all they gave us was a plastic to-go fork.. I ran out of tea and they finally brought some but my meal was already completed and so I just asked for a to-go cup so I did not waste a full glass of tea..
