Flo's Filet (9 oz.) with Crispy Texas Okra and Mashed Potatoes
    Tiffany J.

I've ordered takeout a few times. I always place an order online and do curbside pick up. I've only dined in once, years ago for a Yelp event. The food is good, but it's definitely not as good as it would be if dining in. I've ordered steak to go twice. I have done the 6 oz. and 9 oz. Flo's Filet. 1st time: I should have ordered it medium like it suggested on the website but I went with medium well. The website warned that the steak will continue to cook, but I live nearby so I figured it wouldn't cook that much longer. My steak was closer to well done when I got home. It still tasted good, but it wasn't as tender as it could have been. 2nd time: I ordered the filet medium, and it was basically well done by the time I got home. It was flavorful and surprisingly pretty tender considering it was overcooked (I had no difficulty cutting it with a plastic knife). I've also had the Chicken Fried Chicken. It's massive! It's good, but extremely salty, especially with the cream gravy. The young man that brought out my meal asked me to double check the order to make sure it was correct because I had asked for no dressing with the salad and no bread. I appreciated that. There's nothing worse than ordering take out and then getting home to discover that something is missing or that the order is completely wrong. Sides: I've had the mashed potatoes a couple of times as well as the fried okra (I love it, even though it's usually too salty). On my most recent visit, I ordered the Brussels Sprouts (which costs extra). The Brussels were good but they had a little too much oil. They had a sweetness to them which I enjoyed. The side salad is good and the bread is good, but they give you a mini loaf of bread so I don't always add it to my order. Bottom line: If ordering steak to go, order it 1-2 temp levels below your preference so that it won't be overdone by the time you get home. If you like your steak rare, then dine in at the restaurant and don't bother ordering it to go.

I had a good experience while visiting this Long Horn. I got seated right away when I entered. The waitress came to the table shortly after I got seated and took orders for drinks and appetizers. After a couple of minutes the order came out and the food was really good. I then put in an order for an entrée and got everything Parmesan crusted because it's a definite must! The restaurant was pretty clean and I didn't really have any complains while I was there. It's a great spot to check out if you just want to hang out or maybe even for a simple date night.

Complimentary bread with "brown sugar" butter

Came here for my graduation dinner. We ordered a lot of food for a party of 9. My sister ordered a steak , asked for "medium - well" , but received "well done". Steak was too tough to chew. It took her 10 minutes to finish one bite and when she finished, she had lock jaw. We sent it back and our server, the manager and chef came out to ensure the new one was made to perfection. They were more than accommodating to addressing the mistake. Customer service 10/10 Mac & cheese was mid and lacked season. I had to add salt and pepper. 7/10 Texas margarita could've been stronger. 5/10 My father asked for brown sugar butter and I assumed he thought this was another establishment, but our waiter literally put a pack of brown sugar in our butter and served it right up. We were not sure if this was meant to be funny or if he was serious, but either way, 10/10 customer service for him, for either the joke or actually going above and beyond to try. Of course, it was disgusting though. Lastly, I asked for a complimentary dessert for graduating college. Server gave me whipped cream and ice cream. It meant a lot because he didn't have to give me anything. Overall I'd come here again.

First time here with a friend and had to come back with the boyfriend the following week! I was wanting a good steak but my boyfriend didnt want to cook so we decided to go to Longhorn! This was his first time and my 2nd time. We came in and were seated immediately by the owner who was the host at the time in a booth. Our waiter Whitney came by swiftly and brought us warm bread with butter and got our drink orders. She came back and took our order for food. I got the 12 oz NY strip with a side salad and mashed potatoes. My boyfriend got the outlaw with the mac and cheese (additional charge) and a caesar salad. Whitney brought our salads first to enjoy while we waited for our other foods. The rest of the food came out within 10 minutes after we got our salads which was perfect timing. My steak was cooked more on the medium rare and i had wanted medium, due to stomach problems but I didnt send it back incase it would be cooked too long and then itd be overcooked. I didnt want to make a fuss either. Whitney was great, checked up on us once during the meal. I would just say if she could be more observant and refill waters automatically instead of me having to ask that would up the service overall. (Happened the first time too so its not common sense for the waiters there to refill water when they see an empty glass) Other than that, food was great. I'd still come back again for a good family dinner and its more intimate setting which is very nice. Pricing is fair for what you get also! Great for big groups as I did see them maneuver tables together to accommodate a group of 10 people for dinner which is so nice of them!

The steak was delicious and cooked to perfectly (medium rare). The baked mac n cheese was also delicious. The mashed potato's seemed like they were from a bag or something. Nothing memorable to say about those. The bread they give at the beginning of the meal was pretty good. The service was a little lacking this day and were kinda inattentive. Ambiance is what you would expect for a Texas steak house, yes there was a stuffed longhorn on the wall. Overall pretty good.

Please read, and don't waste your money like we did.------…read moreWe made a reservation at Killen's Steakhouse to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. We had been there before and previously had a good experience, so this visit was disappointing. From the beginning, service felt off. Our table was wobbly, and we did not receive water until after we had already finished the complimentary bread. Our waiter never introduced himself and seemed very inexperienced. The food presentation was also underwhelming. My boyfriend ordered his steak medium well, but it was cooked unevenly -- medium well on the edges and medium in the center. The mushrooms lacked seasoning, and the cocktails looked rushed instead of thoughtfully prepared. Nothing about the meal felt picture-worthy or upscale, especially compared to other Houston restaurants like Bludorn, Perry's Steakhouse, or Whiskey Cake and many other restaurants in the Houston area. What surprised us most was that no manager ever came by to ask how everything was. For a restaurant with this reputation and pricing, we expected much better attention to detail and customer service. We were also disappointed that there was no complimentary birthday dessert. Many restaurants at this price point offer something small to help celebrate special occasions. The only promotion mentioned was signing up for rewards to receive a free dessert after spending $100. Unfortunately, this experience felt more like a casual chain restaurant than the high-end steakhouse experience we expected. We left disappointed and do not plan on returning.

I'll start by saying our service was impeccable the entire evening, I can't remember the name of our waitress, but she was attentive, kind, helpful, and really did make the evening amazing! Regarding food, I started with lobster bisque, and my wife had a salad. The lobster bisque, I would rate 4/5 stars, as it had a mild smooth flavor, but it was missing something that I just could not put my finger on. My wife enjoyed her salad and ate it all. For entrees, I ordered the beef Wellington, and my wife ordered a wet aged steak. The beef Wellington was cooked to perfection. The pastry was perfect and crispy. Though after tasting my wife's steak I regret not ordering a steak instead. The steak was delicious and seasoned perfectly. For sides, we ordered the brussels sprouts and lobster mac & cheese, the brussels sprouts were not as we expected, they were a bit too wet in the vinaigrette style dressing that they were in which made them too soft, I was hoping for a more crunchy, sweeter flavor and the vinegar flavor was a bit overpowering. I will say though that both my wife and I joked that we would come back just for the lobster mac & cheese. YES IT IS that good. For dessert, we ordered the crème brûlée, which was on the thicker side however, it did have a nice mild flavor. Since it was our anniversary and we noted that on our reservation, the restaurant kindly gifted us a small cut of their desserts on a plate with happy anniversary written in chocolate, which I thought was a very sweet and nice touch. Regarding ambience, my only regret was going at such a busy time of evening. It was pretty loud inside, which made it a little bit difficult to hear each other talk. However, I highly recommend others try this place out or come here for a special occasion. It was a wonderful evening!!

Even after joining the waitlist ahead of time, my party of seven still waited about 30 to 40 minutes before being seated. Considering the holiday crowd, though, that was completely understandable. One of the highlights of the evening was our waitress, JB, who was genuinely one of the best servers I have ever had. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and efficient throughout the meal. We started with an order of fried pickles, which arrived almost immediately. The pickles were crispy and well fried, though I found the ranch dressing a bit thicker than I prefer. For my entrée, I ordered the 12-ounce prime rib cooked on the rare side, along with steak fries and a Caesar salad. The salad was fairly standard, and while the steak fries were nothing extraordinary, I still have not found a side I prefer more. Prime rib can sometimes be hit or miss when it comes to temperature, so I was happy to see that mine was cooked perfectly this time. It was incredibly tender and seasoned just right. The au jus kept every bite moist, while the creamy horseradish provided the perfect contrast to the richness of the meat. My sister ordered the country fried chicken, which was less successful. The chicken itself was decent, but the white gravy was noticeably salty and overpowered the dish. I also would have preferred the gravy to be served on the side rather than poured over the chicken, as it made the breading soggy and masked some of the flavor. Overall, this was another solid Texas Roadhouse experience. Between the excellent service, well-cooked prime rib, and lively atmosphere, the restaurant delivered on what it does best. While not every dish was a winner, the quality of the meal and the outstanding service made for a memorable Father's Day meal.

You can ask to see the piece of rib before they cut it for you and they will happily oblige (patrons behind you might not be so thrilled with that move, but they'll live). Sides were excellent as were the mashed potatoes with white gravy on the side, green beans that were just tender enough, but also a bit crunchy. Perfect. They were seasoned with pork, so if that's not your thing, you might want to skip it. We also ordered their shareable onion rings, easily enough for three people that were huge, hot, and crispy. Let's get this out of the way, some of their prices are a little up there, but if you're anything like me, and don't frequent BBQ places often, it's a rare but enjoyable treat. Sometimes you have to splurge and live a little. Also, they have their regular sauce on tables, but you now have to ask the cashier for their sublime coffee BBQ sauce. Don't be shy, ask. It's worth it. Oh, pro tip: If you want beef ribs, the 'plate' is actually cheaper and a better deal than 'by the pound', so save a little money and get two sides.

I arrived around 5:35 PM, about 25 minutes before closing, and ordered 1/2 lb of brisket and 1/2 lb of ribs. The brisket was $17, and unfortunately it was extremely greasy and so overcooked that the meat had become mushy. It still had good flavor, but the texture was nothing like the brisket I've normally gotten here. Judging by what I received, it felt like I may have gotten what was left at the end of the day. The ribs were $12, and my "1/2 lb" consisted of two individual ribs. They tasted good, but they weren't nearly as tender as I've had here before. I paid about $29 just for the meat, and for that price I expected much better quality and portioning. I understand that I came close to closing time, but I still paid full price and should receive the same quality of food as any other customer. If the brisket is past its best or there isn't enough left to make a proper order, I'd rather be told that so I can order something else. I'm not writing the place off because they've been good to me many times before. But this particular order was definitely not up to their usual standard, and the pictures speak for themselves.
