Waffle houses tend to have a Roadside diner feel regarding their decor with counter seating and some booths for groups of two or more people. Dedicated parking lot makes for easy access off the local interstate. Our server was friendly and brought us refills as needed on our drinks. I pull up this morning to Waffle House and find Melissa has shown up for work today - the only one here just before 5:00am. She apologizes (unnecessarily), takes my order, prepares it as a party of two walk in, then another solo party and she greets them, apologizing for being the only one here each time. The thing is, Melissa showed up, she's doing a tough job alone and she showed up. She made my breakfast perfectly and did a very good job taking care of me and the other patrons while I was here. Fast service, Great food I've come to like Waffle House ever since our visit to the Gulf Coast early this year where in Mississippi there seemed to be a Waffle House in every few blocks especially on Beach Blvd. Just got out from the airport and driving along, we stopped at this location in Springfield, we had not had anything to eat since we left Sacramento aside from the snacks the airline provided us so guess what... naturally, we were hangry! Dining in we found open seats and sat ourselves. Every other table seating was blocked (Covid times, you know). We placed our orders with the waitress: (2) Two Egg Breakfasts (one with bacon, other with sausage), and also a bowl of Grilled Chicken Melt Hashbrown. Everything was great, the food was delicious. So, keeping in mind that this is for the daytime crew, I have to point out a few things: 1, the place wasn't like... dirty. I mean if you're expecting a high end fine dining establishment with $800 meals then yea waffle houses as a whole are "dirty." But this one was one of the cleaner ones I'd been to, the server was awesome, the cook did a great job (and seemed to be doing all the necessary things like wearing gloves and what not...) and it really didn't seem like a bad Waffle House at all. Our server was awesome! But the cooks need to get it together. First someone took our 6 yr olds waffle while everyone else got our food. He had to wait at least 10 more minutes. Then when our daughter got her food there was a hair in her hashbrowns. Currently on 30 minutes waiting for hashbrowns to be replaced! This is ridiculous. Also noticed that the to go orders are getting priority over all of us waiting on our food. But to go orders get a 20% upcharge. Definitely do not waste your time here. read more

The place is dirty. The service was awful. The staff was too preoccupied with smoking out in the parking lot to do their jobs. Our food came at different times and was sub-par at best. Will not ever go back. The manager needs to do some serious retraining. read more

Stopped in on our way to the airport and we were welcomed by the amazing scent of sweet waffles and bacon cooking. Greeted with a friendly welcome from the staff and immediately seated in the busy restaurant. Dani our server was an absolute delight! Hubby and I both had a hash brown bowl and coffee. Food was tasty and reminded me of something I would have made at home. Coffee was good too. Restaurant was clean and the staff all appeared to love their jobs and enjoy working together. I was also pleased to see the "now hiring" sign at our table noting all of the benefits of being an employee of Waffle House. Definitely will stop here again when we're in town. read more

I was a regular at this Waffle House for the last year. It has gotten so bad I walked out without eating my meal. Don't worry, I paid for it. Service and quality of food is terrible. When I got my meal it was on plastic plates. I asked why the switched to plastic plates. Waitress said the dishwasher was broke and they didn't want to do dishes by hand. They had only three customers at 5:45 am. That's not many dishes. My last three visits where bad. This was the last. read more

Popped in here the morning after a night of drinking. Felt bad for the hostess she was about 60, and you could tell she didn't want to be there. We looked for a table without plates, and without food or syrup remnants... There was none to be found so we settled for the bar in front of the cooks. Which was also a bit tacky with some sort of leftovers. My wife ordered a coffee, and I got a Pepsi.. I had some weird floaties that kinda looked like lint, and my wife's coffee cup was as sticky as an adult store privacy booth. We decided not to order anything, and left never to return. read more

Me and my boyfriend came in with two coupons for a free order of hash browns including up to two toppings, on my phone. I showed the waitress the coupons and showed the cook as well, and they both told me it would be fine. I have two problems: One, when I got my plate, there was a plastic bread twist tie cooked into the hash browns. No biggie, I understand accidents happen. But my second problem is a big one. Two: AFTER I got a new plate and we both finished our food, they told me that the coupons won't work unless printed out. It was my mistake for not seeing that, but THEY GAVE US OUR FOOD AND TOLD US IT WAS FINE. Then tried to charge us for it?? We had to wait a long time for our food to begin with, mine had a foreign object cooked in it, and then they called the boss lady and we had to wait MORE so she could walk in the store, and get an attitude with me. In the end she didn't charge me for the plate I got because of the twist tie, but forced me to pay for the other plate. I'm just really disappointed in the service and pissed that I had to pay for something that I shouldn't have. Never going there again. read more
