He harmed her by treating her for a symptom that was-not-my chief complaint, was not anywhere at the top of my very pressing and clearly expressed concerns. Dr. Bloomfield gave my cat an injection today for a symptom that was not even present, despite the fact that I texted, emailed, and verbalized my chief complaint & worrisome concerns to both to Bond Vet and directly to Dr. Bloomfield. My little cat is experiencing GI sensitivity. Over the past 2 days she's come very close to not-eating-at-all-for-24-hours, is sleeping a bit more than usual and is showing a near total DISINTEREST in eating. My little Missy is less than 5 pounds. She's very tiny & adorable, but also very frail (experiencing weight lost and near her complete limits). I was told by Dr. Bloomfield (and confirmed by his assistant) that Cerenia was an appetite inducing stimulant (and if it worked as hoped), would last for 24 hours. Seeing the lethargic, disoriented condition of Little Missy, I Googled Cerenia. It is NOT an appetite stimulant, it's PAINFUL (upon injection), causes LETHARGY and Disorientation. Why did my little Missy need this? Let alone Dr. Daniel Bloomfield did not handle Little Missy's body with compassion and respect; treated her tail like it was a handle (literally tugged on her tail) during the exam to get a look at her tush; not aggressively, yet, absolutely-not-gently. His "consult" was very fatalistic, he ignored my concerns, ignored my cat's smaller symptoms that -are- treatable to improve the quality of her life & instead was hyper-focused on her senior age. Both his dismissive and inattentive behavior during the consult and the Cerenia shot were harmful. Dr. Bloomfield caused Missy distress, sedation and disorientation. He worsened the very symptoms we came to him to address (with an extra "side" of disorientation that Missy did-not-have prior to his "treatment").

We had a really bad experience for our first session and I pulled our dog out in the middle of it…read more I was actually surprised that no one on staff ever reached out about it. We used to bring our old dog there in 2018 and had an all around great experience, so this threw me for a loop. While we were waiting for the first therapist we saw the second water treatment therapist treat another human client (who was in the water treatment before us) disrespectfully and rudely; in addition, she was really rough with the elderly dog that came in before us. When it was our turn for water treatment (treadmill) the therapist took our dog inside the room and I told her from the door to make sure to take off her collar because it rusts and she was extremely rude in her response, saying loudly "get away from the door, you're not allowed in here". The front desk person ended up relaying my message to the therapist who said "everything comes off". Really bad attitude, but I still did not say anything. As she began the treatment I was watching through the window and she told me I could not watch and I told her I was not comfortable with that, as I would like to see what she is doing. After another minute she came out of the treadmill and opened the door to say that I could not watch because she has to create a rapport with the dog, at which point I said "OK forget it, this is not working, pull her out". What about creating a trusting rapport with the humans? The dogs cannot talk or consent, so it is all our responsibility to the best we can by them, and I felt that this was not a good situation. The largest difference between our previous experience and this one was communication - in 2018 the therapists went through EVERYTHING with us - from explaining why they were doing certain treatments and how they were isolating certain muscles, to showing us how to do certain treatments, as well as making us a part of those treatments, which was a benefit to us as well as our dog. We were able to bring that knowledge back home for PT at home and felt confident every step of the way. With this last experience, we did not feel confident at any point of the process - we were left in the dark from the very start of therapy and on top of that treated rudely by the very person who is supposed to be caring for our animal. It did not feel good. On top of everything, no one EVER addressed what had happened - I called numerous times and emailed as well (ALWAYS in a nice tone, I was hoping to rectify the situation and hoping this was a one time occurence - someone having a bad day). No one ever called me back or responded. So here we are.

Bottom line, you need to find someone you like, on a personal and a medical level. We liked Dr. Leiman within the first minute, and our cat seemed to like him too. This is basically priceless. Beyond the personal, medically, Dr. Leiman asked the right questions, made the right choices, and called to discuss the results at some length. We'd go back to this practice regularly if we could choose to see Dr. Leiman each time, but that doesn't seem to be an option; instead, the vets rotate, and you can't be sure which one you will see.

I'd adapted two adults cats who were in pretty bad shape from Barc Shelter two yrs ago (one was infected and just had been rescued and the other one was feral having been stayed in Barc for 6 yr before I picked them up). Last yr, when I went for an annual check up, I went to Dr. Felton from Barc since she used be their Vet. However, after finding out they both had really bad teeth needing surgery, Dr Felton took pre-dental work blood tests which might not be necessary. One of my cat's urine was taken wrong way and mixed with his blood and the test results said he had some blood in his urine. I said I was there when it was taken thru needle and he bled while she did. However, Dr Felton denied it and urged me on more tests. Top of that she does not do dental work so I had to find other Vet who does, which asking me for more visits and tests. I was pretty mad on taking my cats to numerous and costly tests and nothing is done. And my other feral cat, she was wrapped in towel while being examined. Tho, the girl who works in Dr. Felton's office was good at handling feral cats. I shopped for another Vet and found Dr. Leiman which was actually next door down the block. Actually thru Yelp!! Thanks. Dr. Leiman agreed with the urine test - the urine sample should not be taken with a needle. With the already done blood tests they were set to go and I was really impressed with his work done on my cats. Teeth for cats are everything. They eat and clean with them so haing bad teeth, it basically going all over their fur and body and to YOU!! Actually, my allegy on my hands are gone since they both are cleaned up. His price was reasonable since I'd compared with other vet's and most of all, he knows how to handle my feral cat Nina without Blanket or anything. She really behaves with him and his crew. I had another annual check up with Dr. Leiman yesterday and his examination was really thorough and he explains everything very well so that I can take care of them at home. And one of my cat's blood work results is already out and he informed me on the phone. I feel really relieved that both my cats are under good care. I highly recommened Dr. Leiman. He shares his practice with his wife Dr. Eisner but I have not dealt with Dr Eisner since Dr. Leiman dealts with my cats and b/c of my feral one who only responds to him. Hope that this helps!!

I noticed the other day he had brown urine they gave him a check up which was free, some,IV fluids and an a shot of antibiotic for a possible UTI infection, which can be common in cats who have had surgery that my cat had in the past. The staff and vet were all very warm and took good care of Mimi. My visit, since I was a first timer was only $25, so glad I was able to take advantage of this offer! The tests and vaccine were all paid out of pocket and were priced reasonable. Just like every vet, they try and push you to do more services. However once I said No, they did not push or persuade (like other places that I have gone to!). It was overall a good visit for Mimi at the vet and would return for their services.
