She did not rush through and was gentle with our cat and with us. Paws at Peace offers some extras (a paw print and a bit of fur in a little jar) in addition to cremation options. I initially thought these things were silly but I am glad we got them. It was easy to make the arrangements. We called at 8 AM and got a same day appointment. We got a text of the expected time and an update when there was a very slight delay. We got a follow up text the next day, with an offer for grief support. This is a well run organization. They know what they are doing. Best of all, they did not cause any additional grief to what was already a very sad day.

Dr. Fragola so thoroughly and empathetically captured the roller coaster I had been on for the past five weeks, and I finally felt certain that it was the right time to end my cat Claudette's suffering. After submitting an online inquiry at night, I received a phone call less than twenty minutes later. From that first conversation through the thoughtful "how are you doing" follow-ups, Paws at Peace's compassion, understanding, and professionalism were authentic and unmistakable. Dr. Jennifer Lander came to our home the next day and could not have been kinder. She was patient, gentle, and genuinely interested in learning about Claudette and her life with us--later reflecting those details in a heartfelt sympathy card. The process was unrushed and deeply respectful. I will always remember the salmon paste she brought as a final treat; Claudette went crazy for it, and it's a fond last memory with our precious girl. This was the hardest moment my husband and I have faced together so far, but Paws at Peace made an unfathomable experience as peaceful as it could possibly be. I am deeply thankful for their care and cannot recommend them highly enough.

I was recommended him my girl's old vet in Queens who didn't do visits in Manhattan and I cannot begin to say how lucky we are to have found him. I have been to so many vets over the years with my fur babies, some who look at you like a checkbook, to the point of telling me "maybe you should go elsewhere" when her nerves got the best of her (I'm looking at you Animal Medical Center) and others who put the needs of the animal above all else. He not only put my Leia's needs front and center but his care and compassion for the pet's companions, I can't say we're owners, was above and beyond. He gave my girl five more good years of life. Dealt with all my stupid questions and emails with patience and care. And he was here to gently ease her on her way. Anyone who needs a vet to take care of their furbaby. Please reach out to him. I made an appointment and they had an available time within 2 days. I noticed they also offered same and next day appointments if it was a semi-urgent matter. They also offer immediate access to a vet via video call. (Obviously I realize if it's really urgent, I will need to take my pets to a nearby emergency clinic, but this wasn't the case with this appointment.) They showed up on time, were professional and friendly. My cat was not acting like herself so the vet thoroughly examined her, looked over her previous medical records and made a recommendation that I take my cat to a specialist. The vet arranged for my cat's medical records to be transferred and even wrote a referral email for me. It went very smoothly! The vet, Dr. Peck wrote two prescriptions for my cat, and I received the medication by delivery same day. Also the next day, I had a question and contacted the Better Vet support center. In less than 5 minutes, they had a reply from the vet! I will continue to use this service for my other animals' routine checkups and vaccinations. The price was quite reasonable also and I was spared the hassle of an outside vet visit, and all the stress that goes along with it.

Saying goodbye to a beloved family member is never easy, but Peaceful Transitions made it as positive an experience as it could be. Our sweet senior dog had been dealing with some health problems, but when we woke up this morning he was unable to walk and was showing signs of neurological issues. When he didn't improve throughout the morning we were about to take him to the emergency vet as his usual vet is closed on Sunday, but then I saw a listing for Peaceful Transitions and we decided to give them a call. They were so incredibly kind on the phone and even though it was a Sunday and they had a full schedule today, they were able to fit us in only a few hours later. They explained the entire process to us over the phone and answered all of our questions, helped us with planning arrangements for after he passed and we were able to pay our invoice easily online before our appointment . Our little guy always got very nervous at the vet, so having someone come out to the house where he could be comfortable and peaceful in his own environment was a blessing. Dr. Matheson was so kind and extremely patient, he examined our little guy, went over our options with us and reviewed the entire process once we were sure we wanted to move forward. They encouraged us to have a special treat for him and a favorite toy, to help distract him while the doctor got him ready. He never could eat bacon normally as it upset his tummy, but he loved it and was so happy to munch on pieces of it while the doctor got prepped for the procedure. We were able to say goodbye to him as he rested peacefully in his own bed surrounded by his favorite toys and blankets and the people who loved him. After the procedure was completed Dr. Matheson stepped out to allow us some time alone to say goodbye, and then made us a nose and paw print and framed them for us. He transferred him into a basket lined with blankets and let us carry him out to the car, to be with him for his final journey. He was so kind and supportive every step of the way, and we are forever grateful to have had this experience. Our hearts are broken over losing our baby, but this is the only way I would ever want to do this again in the future. No rushing to the vet, no fear for our dog in a strange environment, just love and respectful care as we said goodbye. We were also concerned that the price for in-home euthanasia would be too expensive for us, but it actually was in line with what our vet would have charged, and cheaper than the emergency vet. Thank you again to Dr. Matheson and Peaceful Transitions for making what is a stressful and difficult experience as positive as it could be, and for taking such wonderful care of our little guy and us.

So besides needing eye drops for glaucoma and a cataract she required Prednisone. Well we all see these commercials for wonder drugs ( the wonder is why we take them with all the side effects) so even though the Prednisone gave my girl relief it slowly started to effect other systems. Last week in what appeared to be overnight she slowly stopped eating but only drank. That was a red flag. Took her to an emergency facility which was a nightmare. Four hours sitting around waiting for some diagnosis. Every so often someone would come out and give some empty info. Finally a vet came out and provided me with a 3 page plan with an estimate that sent me to the cardiologist. This where Zen Dog comes in. Based on the diagnosis and the plan with no light at the end we felt the best most humane course of action was to euthanize. Spoke with Dr. Ray., he could not have been more understanding and compassionate. He showed up at the house took the time to explain the process. Once comfortable with what was going to happen he started. Dr Ray gave us time to be with her and comfort her until the end. It was a very tough thing to deal with but she went with family around in her home and peacefully. If anyone who reads this is at that point with their beloved pet, Zen Dog is in my opinion a great comforting option
