This is my favorite family fall fun place! The corn maze is always so much fun. I've been taking my kids here for years. Plus the location is gorgeous and views can't be beat! You know, my husband and I travel to Albuquerque every year to get our Green Chile. We always went to Wagner Farms. It was never a pleasurable experience from staff. They are not friendly, they all sit back behind the cash registers when at least half of them should be out helping customer's out with questions they may have. We stopped going there. WE do go during the Harvest Fest but we don't shop at Wagoner's. Rosales that is the place to go on fourth street. You won't be disappointed. read more

I was so looking forward to buying green chile here to take on the plane back home to North Carolina. The place was recommended by a local and I had scoped it out the previous week. The day before my return flight I stopped at Wagner Farms. I bought 12 pounds of green chile including a sack of Big Jim, a sack of Sandia, and a sack of extra hot. Two days later after arriving home I roasted and sampled all the chiles. The hot and extra hot were mild and had no heat. I am totally disappointed. read more

I would give 0 stars if it allowed! Watch your kids stuff! My son went on a field trip here and lost his jacket, I called right away, left several voicemails and no return calls. I finally got through to Roxann and was told they take the lost and found stuff home and would check.. still no call back so I had to keep calling to get in an argument on whether or not they actually take stuff home or leave it there.theu refused to look and said they donate everything maybe around the end of the season if not claimed! We heard that Wagner Farms was the go-to place for local green chile. We decided to check it out last weekend and take advantage of free roasting (limited time). The store front was cute. There was a little porch set up with tables (I noticed there is an attached restaurant). The store was busy! They had a large selection of chile (Sandia Hot, Big Jim, an even hotter one, and maybe one other milder flavor. They also had tomatoes, apples, (?), giant zucchini, squash, and some other produce overflowing in big bins. The store was pretty small (and kinda smelly). We chatted with some other customers and sampled (and almost died) a few chile's. We settled on a bundle of Big Jims and Sandia Hot (per suggestion of my husbands colleague). The cashier rang us up and put a sticky note and number on our chile. We took it to the long, but quick, line. The men roasting were efficient and friendly. While we waited we tried a yummy zucchini bread (a little dry, but tasty) and a cherry and watermelon lemonade. They had two other flavors as well. The drinks and bread were $3-4 each. I'd guess we waited about 30 minutes for our chile to roast. They had between 3-6 roasters going at once. During our wait my daughter needed to use the restroom. The only available option was a port-a-potty out back (that alone subtracted a star). When we got home we peeled our chile and sacked it. Most of the chiile was roasted to perfection. Some of the Big Jims were too hard to peel. Our guess is that it is very hard to roast different sized chiles, so we didn't think it was a big deal. The Big Jims are enormous and we a looking forward to making rellenos. The Sandia's are super hot. Together they are a perfect blend of heat and flavor. We will be returning later in the season for the almost red crop. If you are searching for yummy and decent priced chiles ($20-3- is a bundle), Wagner Farms is a great pick! read more

My husband and I visited today with my grandchildren ages 6 and 10. It was over priced 8. For adult and 6 for kids plus a 1.00 extra charge for paying with a debit card. What you got was a hayride around a dried out cornfield that has been made into a "maze", petting animals that you had to pay again for food if wanted to feed them. A horse ride for an extra $5.00 for a 2.38 minute ride ( I timed it) which 1.38 minutes of that was to sit on the horse in front of a wagon so the parents could photograph a their child. I'm all for supporting our local businesses but come on now!! I won't be returning I'll pay the extra 4.00 and drive the extra 30 minutes next year to McCalls! read more

The staff is not friendly, it is tremendously overpriced, the restrooms were filthy and coated in feces, the pumpkins were soft and rotten, the pony ride lasted 20 seconds and cost $5, the "hayride" went in a circle around a dirt road, and you could see over all of the corn in the "corn maze". This was our first time here, because it was local and a shorter drive than going to Mccall's. But, we will never be going back. read more

Wagner Farms chile is not as good as Sichler's chile (and neither are grown locally) but they frequently have ripe red chile before it's available elsewhere. Going to Wagner's is a fun expedition and the cafe is good but---produce is uneven. read more

We went to Wagner's to buy a sack of green chiles and have them roasted. Good experience. Well organized. Moderate line. Chiles were slightly under roasted and so some were very difficult to peel. So keep an eye on them and make sure they are fully roasted before you leave. They look delicious; however, they were not grown at Wagner's. While waiting we went to the Apple Tree Cafe in Wagner's for the best breakfast burritos we have had in many years. Stuffed with potato, cheese, green chile and bacon. Home made to order. Large. Reasonably priced at $5 each. I will definitely go back for more. Wagner's has some of the best corn I have ever had in August. read more

OK, this was my experience driving through Corrales (aka Prado de Taos on the Corrales lmao) and this review is biased because it's coming from the perspective of a life long resident: First, driving 20-25 MPH in posted 35 MPH zone. After the loooooong irritating drive behind a transplant from California (why mention this? You'll see), I entered Wagner's Farm to see a barren wasteland of grocery store quality produce and poor selection of subquality green chile. One still can't use plastic. There's a note on register that ATM is located in back of store. I ask where it is cause it's dark like the place is going out of business and clerk just points to it like Lurch from the Adams Family. I then walk over to use an out of service ATM machine. Really Lurch??? I left Corrales and went to The Fruit Basket on 4th street. I grew up in the North Valley and currently live on the Westside. Albuquerque is not my home anymore. I don't recognize it and the transplants ruined any chance of my kids having an awesome experience growing up in the valley like I did. Oh well, theirs won't either. This is another tally mark in favor of moving to CO where the green chile is plentiful and just as tasty as NMs if not better. Lastly, the only Hispanic person I saw the whole time on that ridiculous journey was roasting chile. Poor dude. And don't let those uploaded pictures fool you lol. read more

Went for the first time with my husband and kids. There were field trips for younger kids going on when we arrived and one of the ladies at the ticket booth was yelling at them telling them they needed an adult or they could not play. These kids seemed 4-5 years old. They should understand children that age are just starting to comprehend rules. I would HATE for a stranger to yell at my children. They should have asked their teacher to get the children instead of acting ghetto. Only person friendly at the ticket booth was the younger gentleman. All other staff was not friendly at all. Paid extra to use my debit card. Over priced to walk through dried out corn and see a couple horses. Oh, the hay ride driver was a sweetheart. He was so nice. We will never go back. Next time we will just spend a few extra dollars to go to mccalls. We were in and out in 45 min. Kinda wanted my money back. Place was ghetto and needs to step it up. read more

We are long-time Corralenos and like to support local businesses. Wagner's usually has decent produce although some things can be overpriced. But something has gone terribly wrong. As they expanded to include the corn maze, Apple Tree Cafe, Chile fiesta in Los Lunas etc., they have become too big and greedy and have highly mediocre overpriced produce. A large pumpkin will run you $15; Chile is nearly $30 per sack with an additional $5 to roast and corn which was really substandard goes for $5 per dozen. Last week I bought a sack of Sandia hot, had it roasted and froze it. When we tasted it, it was mild with no flavor. Someone evidently mixed up the bags, yet I would not think to ask them to correct their mistake, because it might cost them a couple of bucks. Customer service is not what they are known for so I'm off to Rosales produce on North 4th or any other local chilero and will avoid Wagner's in the future and so should you. They are too big and money-hungry for their own good, and I'm certain they are laughing all the way to the bank! Too bad they don't realize the local people see right through them. read more
