Dishonest. We took our long haired Havenese to this groomer and instructed her to not cut his 5 inch long hair more than 1.5 inches. She said, "Of course." We showed the groomer 6 spots on our dog's coat where we had cut out some small (1 inch) mattes out. We told her we knew the coat would be uneven in those places but that it did not matter to us. We were HORRIFIED when we picked up our dog (4 HOURS LATER) to find that the groomer had taken an electric razor to our dog and shaved him bald. The groomer destroyed this dog's coat, his beautiful long fur and left us stunned. This dishonest groomer said SHE wanted the dog's coat to look even, to heck with what we wanted and what she promised. Then she had the audacity to charge us for a full groom! Guts. We are filing a complaint with the BBB and are considering other measures. This facility employs dishonest, unethical groomers. read more

This was her first grooming experience and I wanted it to be a good one. She did very well at her appointment and looked great when I picked her up. They even put a bandana on her and bow on her head. We dropped off my wooly husky with specific instructions to NOT shave him completely. They were told if his butt and belly needed to be shaved, that was fine. We picked up a completely shaved dog, with no communication as to why they felt it necessary. He was not matted on any part, except back legs and some belly. I'm extremely disappointed in how my dogs look after grooming by Wags my Tail. Their coats look fuzzy and the back of one dog looked like a Bichon Frise, the other was uneven so I took them back 2 days later to be disappointed and mad all over again. I won't be taking my girls back. Are you kidding me, I'm not to tip the groomer until I get home and throughly look at their coats call back and run my card over the phone. I couldn't understand why they slipped on the tile floor. Their paws weren't groomed and their pads had the same amount of fur as when I took them in. Seriously, what did I pay $170 plus $60 tip that should've been 40/20. You all should be ashamed. After dropping them @0800 they weren't done until 1600. That's 8 hrs of no water, going out to pee, and being in a cage so when I pick them up I just want to get them out to pee and get water. I looked them over quickly and they seemed good until..........and there's always an until. read more

The groomer who greeted me at the door was so lovely and sweet with my dog. When I picked him up, they told me that my dog bit the groomer, and they were so nice about it. I felt terrible (he's never done this that I know of), but they were so professional and kind when explaining what happened and discussing future appointments. read more

UPDATE: Lesson learned on writing a glowing review after only one experience.This was my second visit, the owner having done the first groom no problem. This time i was initially very pleased, and the groomer, Lexi, seemed so nice, but when I checked my dog later in the evening after he had been licking and licking, I found a large red gash in the tender area of his backside...In other words not plainly visible unless the dog, like I said, was licking at it which is of course what signaled there was a problem.Upon questioning the groomer, she casually lied telling me that she "hadn't noticed". As I told the owner, everyone makes mistakes and had she been honest and upfront and told me about it, I could've gotten over it. She chose not to. All the owner could say was that she had 'heard her saying she was really sorry', at which point I had to point out again that she was telling a lie to begin with that she 'hadn't noticed." This is simply not plausible and beyond that, it's her job to notice so it is entirely unacceptable either way.It's her job to pay attention and do a simple groom or at the very least be honest and upfront. The areas are raw and red-very upsetting to see my little dog like this, having been lied to and paying for the pleasure of it all. Had a repeat groom on the Westie and the trim was fair, really rough and missed toenail clips also the tail on our sweet old girl had the squirrel tail all puffy and all we wanted was a close shave all over including face and everywhere for the dogs comfort. Westie with a coon tail, yuk where'd that idea come from ??? For the price we will probably have a mobile groomer stop by and save the old girl the stress of being gone all day etc. Seems like since the older woman named Bell retired or quit that did an excellent job on dogs the place is run by kids with no quality checks before they call to have the dog picked up is happening, the kids seem nice but need a adult boss making sure the end product is worth the price charged. Very sad to end our business with these guys. Probably not going back, and if this had been a training college or something then we would have been expecting the learning curve trims but the prices would have been more in line for results. $60 plus bucks, not worth the results, what we got was about a $20-25 cut and bath service, she didn't smell as clean this time as well, basically a half effort at most. read more

I had a really horrible experience at this groomer and just wanted others to not be fooled by the Yelp rating. From the time I walked in I should have know that this was not going to go good because the man and woman that greeted me were really dismissive when I walked in. They made me stand there with my 2 8lb dogs and wait for a long time before even talking to me! Kind of like I was bothering them. Also the place smelled really gross like a dirty, wet dog smell....guess the air conditioner doesn't work well here. We have 2 little LhasaPoo dogs that I specifically asked to have cut into a "Teddy Bear" style. It is a very common style for little fluffy dogs. I went over what I was expecting...round face, rounded legs, nails, clipped, shorter hair on body...etc. They told me..."Oh No Problem"...(please note that I never mentioned the word "SHAVED"} I took them in at 8:00a and they said they would have them done by Noon at the latest. There were 3 more dogs that came in behind me at the same time, so I should have known. I called them at noon to see if they were done yet and they said they were running behind and would call me when they were ready. Called again at 2:30p...still not done...so needless to say they did not have them done until nearly 5pm! I was so upset...my dogs have never had to be at any groomer for 8 hours! But the worst was yet to come! They finally called me. When I walked in I didn't ever recognize my pups because they had completely SHAVED off all of their hair....their face, their ears, their body and their tails!!!!! I was in shock and so upset. I asked them why they had done this....they said they had some matting, which was BS because I had completely brushed them out, tangle free, before I brought them! What happened was they had too many dogs and by the time they got to my dogs they just took the razor to them all over their entire body. They looked horrible. I was in such shock I just paid and left. When I got home my husband was livid. He went back over there with the dogs and encountered the rude German accented lady and another lady that said she was the owner. They told him that we didn't take care of our dogs! They tried to give him some fur to show him that our dogs were matted but they gave him fur that was brown/tan...our dogs are white and black!!! It has taken over 9 months for our dogs fur to grow back out! It sounds a little weird but we could tell the dogs did not like this experience either. They acted really weird and sad for a good few days afterwards. It still makes me upset to think about it! Sorry about the length of this post I just want others to know that this company and these groomers definitely are not 5 start worthy and I will never recommend this company to anyone. read more

I appreciate the staff here because they actually are able to deal with my overly active pug and they are actually able to trim his nails and brush his teeth! I admit it is extremely difficult to do at home but they are always able to get it done! Pugs are already more likely than other dogs to have tartar buildup and other dental issues, and somehow they manage to take most of it off! The price is more than reasonable for The phenomenal service they provide! They are very gentle around his face which is good for our one eyed pug! I honestly never do reviews but Im officially parting ways with this establishment because I've just never been impressed or satisfied. I have a small Shi-poo that I obtained by dog sitting and the owner passing away. The groomers have mentioned more than once on how she needs teeth cleaning, which I am fully aware of. However it would cost $2,500 plus for the procedure since she is an older dog, of which I currently do not have. The only thing I have ever asked as far as style preference is that they shave her face completely, it has never happened. My boyfriend was the one who pointed out that since we have been together for more than a year that I have always been consistently unhappy with the work and to just move on. read more

I've been bringing my dogs here for about 18 months now and I'm really pleased with their service. Jamie does a terrific job grooming my Yorkie mix, and his coat looks smooth and shiny for about 10 days after. Normally he looks very scruffy even after a bath. I've always been very happy with how Jamie cuts his fur too, not too short, and she makes his face and ears look adorable. I don't bring my Cairn Terrier Mix in as often as she doesn't need 'haircuts' and I can easily bath her at home. But I still take her in to have her nails trimmed and teeth brushed. I have had Shih Tzus for over 16 years. I moved to Tucson over three years ago. My dogs get groomed every two weeks. One of my dogs every time she was brought to any groomer would push her front paws in the ground not wanting to go on the shop. After two visits she would walk in on her own. They have been my groomers for almost three years. One more thing Jamie cuddles the head of my dog that hates water and baths when bathing her and Jamie said is no longer screaming when put in the tub. I highly recommend Wags as a place that will care for and properly treat your fur babies. I think the complaint that said she was physically abused is a lie and a very unhappy person. The video tape proves it. It is a shame a liar has a way of promoting lies. Wags My Tail is a reputable honest and caring business for their customers. I highly recommend the great staff at Wags. The dog groomer who hit me in the shoulder is anti-semitic. I was shocked when she came out and hit my shoulder. The dog groomers ganged up on me. It was because she had thought I was Jewish. I am not suprised that you're lying about what happened. You lied about not hitting me. That lady hit me in the shoulder. I believe she's violent & expected to start a physical fight to get the other groomers to lie too. The fake call to the police was done to intimidate me. I went to the police myself. I was the victim. I was hit by that woman. I stood there because I did nothing but complain that you ripped me off. She hit me. She was physically aggressive. Then after hitting me the rest of the groomers told her to get back behind the gate because I said " This is assault. You hit me" I realize it's the gang mentality of 7 against 1. No matter what I'd say in the shop you're business is run by dog groomers who are going to back each other up. The fact is the lady who hit me was trying even to get my child on her side. It's violence that erupted over a complaint of being ripped off. If a customer complains you hit them physically & lie about it. I think the sun must get to people in Tucson. read more

Belle does an awesome job with my dog! The first time I took him to Wags My Tail I had just adopted him and he was covered in matts. Belle was very understanding and provided phone updates regarding my dogs status. He ultimately had to be shaved with a short clip. She is very sweet and thorough and does a great job with my dog every time. Over time, Belle has provided information on how frequent to brush, which brushes work best, and how often he needs to be groomed! Plus, he leaves with a cute bandana after every grooming appointment! Highly recommend wags my tail! Update: Wags my Tail has a bath club you can enroll your pet into.
