I love wine - so when I'm in town I try to always make it to a few of the local small wine shops - Wahoo Wine is def one of them - I love places that know their products - where they can make suggestions to help in the selection process. I was offered a tasting - which I felt offered that little personal touch. They also have an eatery attached - which I haven't been able to try yet.

Such a cute wine shop and delicious restaurant. I learned of the location through weekly emails about wine tastings. Stopped by the restaurant afterwards which also looks delicious! I intend to go back. Great bites from the bar(which also has the loveliest bar staff): Brussels Chicken meatballs Any and all dips Tips: The wine tasting give very small pours. This is not a hang around and taste event although they are very knowledgeable and have great wines. They also host affordable group tasting events. Also! Happy hour is every day of the week. 5-7. 2-1 apps and drink specials. Yummmmm.

Free wine tastings Saturday's from 4-7 pm

Informative staff with a great orange natural wine selection. Happy to have this little gem in Decatur.

Great little wine shop. The employees are always nice and give great recommendations. They also do wine tastings and wine growlers!

My husband went in to buy a pork butt to smoke. He, admittedly, doesn't know how to select the best cuts of meat, so he wanted to go to a proper butcher to ensure he got a good cut. He came home with the meat in a paper bag and immediately put it in the refrigerator. I came into the kitchen shortly after and the whole room smelled like something rotten. We couldn't pinpoint where the smell was coming from immediately, but when I opened the refrigerator it almost knocked me over. We opened the paper bag (the same day of the purchase) and the meat was GREEN and had a smell of death. It took me days to get that smell out of my nose. My husband immediately took the meat back to Shields and the owner told him he knew the meat was close to being bad, but he didn't think it was "that far". No apology, no offer to refund the money. He was nasty to my husband and made some kind of comment like he might choose not to sell to him again since he returned a cut of meat. Never again!

Is this just supposed to be a hard boiled egg breakfast sandwich? i don't understand why anyone would want a rubbery, overdone egg with a greenish yolk as the star of the show. The cheese isn't melty and, in a town full of delicious biscuit offerings, i found the biscuit to be dry and stale. the evergreen breakfast sandwich continues to puzzle the hell out of me. i'll stick to Little Tart's offering from now on.

Housesitting brought me to the neighborhood, and now I might have to make the trek regularly. I bought three sourdough bagels and a brown butter coconut cookie. My blood sugar was low and I absolutely could not resist eating the cookie on my way home. Wow.. It was so chewy and delicious. Both flavors come through really nicely. On to the bagels... These are, by far, the best bagels I've had in Atlanta. Honestly, they put the chain bagel spots to shame. The interior is really open and has that beautiful sourdough tang. They're perfectly crusted on the outside and provide a nice base for a spread/schmear. I'm so so impressed. Thank you Evergreen. I'll be back.

I owe Brooklyn Deli an apology for not finding them sooner…read more As a New Yorker turned Atlantan, I have spent the last year quietly lowering my expectations for bagels here. I've had some that were OK. Some that were good-ish. Some that were simply round bread with a hole in the middle. I began to accept that it just wasn't a thing here. And then today I ordered the whitefish bagel from Brooklyn Deli. Oh. My. God. The bagel was chewy, fresh, and actually tasted like a BAGEL. The whitefish was incredible. The whole thing tasted like nostalgia. Like somebody briefly picked me up from Atlanta and dropped me back on 24th and 3rd for brunch. Absolutely remarkable. No notes. My bagel-related cynicism has been temporarily suspended, and Brooklyn Deli has earned the extremely prestigious approval of one extremely dramatic former New Yorker.

As a displaced yankee now in Atlanta, I'm usually prepared to have my heart broken when I see "New…read moreYork style" food being billed outside of New York. (I'm looking at you, Jack's New Yorker Deli.) But I was in the Ansley Mall neighborhood for some errands and I wanted to see what the fuss was about. It was a Sunday afternoon and the line was out the door so that is usually a good sign. I went with the Brooklyn sandwich (Hot pastrami, coleslaw, swiss, spicy mustard, & Russian dressing). You can opt for the smaller portion of meat (the ATL) or the larger portion (New York). It was just the right amount of coleslaw, mustard and Russian dressing so that the bread wasn't sopping wet. And the pastrami is hot and it wasn't overly greasy either. A nice balance with the side order of potato salad. It was a little more sandwich than I needed for lunch but it was pretty faithful to New York style all things considered. $18.50 for the larger New York version of the Brooklyn sandwich including tax. I was tempted by the Dr. Brown's sodas from back home and all of the pastries and deli items for sale as you are making your way up to the front to place your order. Sunday afternoon is not really the time to shop around because of how busy it gets in there so a return trip is definitely in order.

They also have a vary nice wine selection, fresh seasonal veggies, & fresh breads. I tried the Mexican cornbread the other day and craved it ever since. Don't forget the Caesar salad/ dressing. So, if you love to eat great food and thinking about nice butcher cut, fresh seafood, or heating up the fruits of their labor- you can't go wrong. One other thing I noticed- groceries are really expensive and sometimes getting home to discover you only have ingredients makes it hard to budget. I found that these great meals helped me trim a dollars off stocking the fridge.
