I was told about the Wahoo ziplines by some close friends...they sold me on the next trip they took. I LOVED it. Took my two teenage boys on the second trip we loved it and scheduled a second trip on the same day. Brought my Boyfriends daughter(11) on our fourth trip...she was so scared...the staff made her so comfortable and she loved it. We are planning a trip tomorrow 3/15/13 for her birthday.Can't wait. Our day started off at 8:15am (for scheduled tour at 9am) with 18 people. The oldest in his early 60's and the youngest two were 5 years old. We checked in with our pre-filled our waivers and paid. The larger the group the amount goes down. I think we were each $40+tax. We made our way to get our harnesses and helmets on and on the bus close to 8:45. Very efficient. Rode short distance in bus by 9 am. Our guides were Eugene and Leo. They both did a fantastic job and were efficient and patient with our LARGE group. They cracked jokes with us, but made us feel safe - even those who hadn't ever done it! We ALL had a blast! Line 1: long and gets you familiar with your landing position Walk a short distance on dirt/rock road Line 2: practice jumping off tower, encourages to let go of ropes, get comfortable in landing position. Professional Photographer in position upon landing Walk a short distance on path Line 3: teach you more "tricks", lowest line, kids got to go together (oldest kid was 12 & 5ft) Hiked up rocky road short distance Line 4: encouraged you to hang upside-down like Spider-Man! Kids and adults loved this trick! Hiked small rocky/rooty path to top of a ridge (3-5 mins) gained elevation and received bottle of water at the top. Trash cans to dispose of empty crushed bottles. Line 5: everyone paired up and rode hip to hip and feet in opposite directions, gorgeous views of meadow and mountains! I have to give this a 5. Length wss not great but okay. Our guides Gary and Vlad were super. They love what they do and like helping and interacting with people. The lines move people faster than any I have ever done. It is go, go all the time. And the opportunity to do trick positions on the lines is too fun. Of a few dozen tours I have done this is the only one where two people are actually connected and zip together. That was a super neat twist. If you are looking for fast fun, this is it. read more

Was over at Wilderness of the Smokies for the wkd and they advertise Wahoo ziplines with a discount so my friend and I decided to check it out. We (including our 6 and 7yr old kids) loved the whole experience. The ziplines were long and exciting but we all felt super safe. And the staff was amazing. First time zip liner here and let me tell you I was scared as sh*t. We don't do this crazy stuff back at home in Chicago but it was my son's 12th birthday and we wanted to try something new. Let me tell you the tour guides Avery, Cayden & Austin were amazing! I was super nervous and they totally made me feel comfortable! If any of you watch Letterkenny on Hulu and know who Riley is just look for the tour guide with blonde hair who looks like him... he's great! I'm a heavier set chica and that guy helped me down no problem they all did! Also bring cash to tip! I don't carry cash on me because it goes to quickly and thought they maybe had an atm, but they don't. So I left a tip for them with a credit card, only downside is they don't give the cash back to hand to them they just give it to them at the end of the day. So I'm hoping those guys got their tips because they deserved it. Also one guide picked a three leaf clover and gave to my son and now he carries it in the back of his phone just like the guy. It was my son's birthday and he was such a crab ass due to traveling so he was cranky but he walked away with that clover and definitely made him happy. They say a good tour guide/instructor makes all the difference and I strongly believe that! Thanks Wahoo for a fun experience we had on our family summer vacation. Ps.. Guides were so funny and seemed to be having a good time. We did not have to brake ourselves!!! They do the braking for you, so you just get to relax and enjoy the beautiful views on their 6 lines. One of the highlights of our trip- they even have a tandem line and a side-by-side line. Would highly recommend this trip for anyone, but especially for beginners as the work you have to do is minimal. read more

This was the best part of our vacation. We came from Ohio with friends and family and wanted a good way to wrap up the week. This afternoon with Wahoo Zipline really fit the bill. Our Guides were so funny and really made our adventure a great time. I highly recommend doing this with your group, friend or spouse. Our guides were from Russia but easy to understand. We went this weekend for a zip lining trip. It took about a hour 1/2 and we all laughed the whole time. Photographer is great also! Every one in the group had pictures worth buying! **In case anyone is wondering...this new "speed regulated" system is an employee standing at the end of the zip line with a rope to catch you. This then hurls you towards the metal line itself and that's why they warn you repeatedly at the beginning of the tour that you have to lock your arms or the actual line will physically harm you. Look at other reviews and you will see pictures where people are getting hurt. Absolute Nightmare of an experience. We decided to come here for a second visit after having such a good visit the first time years ago, soon after they first opened. During that visit, everything was wonderful, staff was excellent, and we felt super safe. Unfortunately, all that has now disappeared. While we were waiting for the bus to take us up the mountain, a family arrived a little later than they were supposed to and an employee came out the front door screaming at them saying if they didn't get inside right then and fill out their paperwork, they would be left. This was not the first impression I was hoping for on such a risky adventure. We finally get harnessed up, get on the bus and head up the mountain. We are in a group of about 15 people, far larger than how they did it in the past, and get to the first zip line for some instructions. At this time, we find out that we will not be getting gloves to slow ourselves down, rather they have a "catcher" at the end of the line with a rope to very abruptly stop you. I was not a fan of this at the very beginning, but still decided to give it a try. After getting to the first landing, the "catcher" is very abrasive and seriously "manhandles" the people to get them to a step stool and un-clipped so he can stop the next person who is already coming down the zipline. There were numerous people in our group that seemed to not understand the phrase "tippy toes" and that made the "catcher" get even more upset and volatile because another person was about to fly into the landing zone. If they would have provided more detailed instructions at the beginning or provided gloves for the people that understand how to use them, that would eliminate a lot of the unknown and fear of having to depend on a single person to stop you. After the first line, I let the guy, who was sending everyone down the line, know how I wasn't really comfortable with how things were going and he was very friendly in asking me to go down one more line and then meet someone there to pick us up. I was more than willing to do that until the "catcher" overheard my complaints and pointed to me to say, "I will not be catching you at the end of this line". First, I was in complete shock that he would ever say that, even if he was joking. You do not EVER put someone's life in danger in such a risky activity as ziplining and then to threaten this to a customer is appalling. I requested someone pick us up immediately at that zipline and they called someone to do so. The guy who picked us up did apologize and said that he knows the "catcher" was only joking when he said that. I don't care if someone is joking or not, you do not threaten their safety. We made our way back to the beginning and explained what happened to the people working there who gave us a refund, thankfully. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone that values their life or safety and they have proven that this is not a priority to them. That employee should be fired and never allowed to work another activity such as this. read more

I've raised five children, from nine to twenty-nine, mostly as a single parent, and I firmly believe that children benefit from what the educational community calls, "enrichment." That's basically anything exciting, adventurous, informative, educational ... so I've always tried to do everything interesting with my children that I could afford. No child of mine has ever had stitches, a broken bone, or any other significant injury and they are all grown but one. I have been an investigator for about thirty years ... I say all that solely because I've read the other reviews and, rather than argue where I disagree, I'll just offer my observations and try to give you an idea where I am coming from. I DON'T do ANYTHING, EVER, with my children without checking it out as thoroughly as I can. We went in October 2015, as a group of four. It was the first time for all of us. Succinctly put, we had a blast, we felt like it was money well spent, and we all intend to do it again. We particularly enjoyed the staff. The people who staff these things (all tourist attractions) tell the same jokes, and go thru the same routines, all day, every day ... I've never tried it myself, but I would imagine that it is hard to keep from sounding like a broken record. From our perspective, we found the staff to be a lot fun and, while some do have accents, we certainly didn't have any trouble understanding anyone. Tourist attractions often make you feel like cattle - even if they don't intend to. That was not the case here. I think the other group was about six people, so there were about ten of us ... we didn't know any of them but, by the time we were finished, you would have thought we all came together. I'm not explaining that very well I know, but you don't get that when you have a group of people shoved through an attraction. The facility itself is immaculate. You can be sure I had a hard look at their equipment, and the construction of the zip lines themselves ... it was all first rate hardware, clean, and well maintained. There is a redundant system involved, which is to say that if your primary pulley system failed, there is a backup system. They explain that to you. Obviously, if the cable failed, you would fall, but I was quite comfortable with the cable system they have. Compared to the cable on the 10,000 pound winch on my Jeep, theirs is much bigger. In sum, I thought this was safe, we had a terrific time, everyone else I spoke to said they did too, and it was reasonably priced ... check Groupon for discounted tickets. I'm not a Tennessee resident, and I am not associated with this enterprise in any way, other than as a visitor ... the nice thing about YELP is, when you read someone's review, you can see any others they have written. While I like the fact that you can pretty much write whatever you want to, some people use the site to flame anyone they have an issue with. read more

This place is great. The guides are a lot of fun and did a great job. One girl in our group was crying at the beginning, and laughing by the end of it and racing her father down the zimpline. We had a blast. I'm not saying that this is the most exciting ziplining there is, but its definitely worth doing. This ziplining company has 6 different ziplines through the tree tops and so it is really cool. And on each line you do something different, keeping it fun if you are more of the adventurous type. Wahoo! This zip line place is very well made and very fun. I have been here twice and both times I have wanted to come back after. Although there is a bit of hiking involved, the thrill makes up for it. There is 4 normal courses. There is 2 long and 2 medium length. There is also two different ones. These are a tandem line and a race line. Overall this is a very amazing. read more
