He responded to my voicemail message within several hours and after making contact to explain the project, he agreed to come out to the house the next day for what was a relatively straight-forward project. He brought everything he needed to relocate my, external propane tanks and the job took him about an 75 min. His pricing was more than fair including the materials that he brought with him. He was professional and and just a great soul. I hope going forward the island is able to support talented tradesmen like Pete. This was in stark contrast to a state wide plumbing service (Steve's Plumbing) that miscommunicated what they would do, and quoted me a charge of $443 for 10' ASTM A grade 3/4" gas pipe, that was available at Lowes for $40! Steve's Plumbing quoted me an overall charge that was 8x what it actually cost with Pete's Plumbing.

It used to be very professionally run but I highly recommend you DO NOT USE this company. I had them come out to repair my sewer pump. The tech said the float valve just needed adjusting and cleaning, no parts. He was here less than an hour. I received the payment notice by email and clicked and paid it before I opened and read the invoice. They billed for two hours @ $225 per hour. I called and finally got through to someone and explained the above. She said she would look into it and get back. Several days went by with no call. Again, had a problem getting thought to anyone. Finally, the gal said she would get with the supervisor and got back to me saying they billed it at the wrong hourly rate, should have been $155 per hour. She said the two hours would stand as they change for travel time and, evidently, do not prorate the second hour. I told her that was fine, please credit my credit card. I did not hear or see any credit come through several days later so I called. The gal told me she would have Calvin Junior give me a call. He did but did not know what it was about. I explained. His comment was "I don't know why they agreed to a refund be I will give it as a credit to your account." I told him I was not happy with that, that I wanted a refund as I did not know when I might need their service. After several back and forth, he refused a refund only a credit. When I told him I would get on Yelp and explain the bad customer service, he replied "do what you have to do."

Dell reset my electric water heater when it stopped heating the water. The heater was 17 years old,…read moreso he suggested I buy a comparable heater from a local store and have it delivered to my home and then he would install it. I picked one out and Dell stopped by the store to make sure the heater I had picked out would work in my space. By then the old heater needed to be reset again. Dell reset it again so I would have hot water until the new heater could be delivered and he could install it. He installed the new heater just two days after it was delivered, even though it was on a weekend. When it came time to pay, Dell started musing about what to charge me because I am an elderly woman living alone. When I protested getting special treatment (because I have a good pension and Social Security and I wanted to pay him a fair price for his excellent work) he told me to pay him whatever I thought his work was worth. I had some idea of what the cost range might be from information on the internet, but to me, Dell's good work and considerate attention to my comfort throughout the process was priceless. I tried to judge what was fair by picking an hourly rate and estimating the time he had put in. I hope I didn't underpay him. This is a long story to say Dell is a great plumber and a wonderful human being. We are lucky to have him in Waimea.
