I got here at 9pm looking for a charger for my cell phone.. I'm kinda new to Nova Scotia, and more used to Walmart supercenters in the States...so maybe not the best person to be asking.. aaanyhow you asked.
For one, they close at 10... whats with that?! Were they just not making enough money?
Anyway it was pretty dead, not many people around.. and the staff fell into a few different perceptible categories..none of these categories in any way, shape or form involved any customer service or customer contact...
Their one and only goal above all else (including above customer service) seems to be loss prevention..
I am a single, well dressed pigment challenged dude (white as f^%) and the staff were all lurking around like gollum from Lord of the Rings. I wasn't sure if they were trying to avoid helping me out, or merely just hoping to catch a shoplifter by slithering around and peering into mirrors and around corners.. I felt creeped the ^&*^ out.
Their exorbitantly overpriced chargers were scattered across quite a number of aisles and i had to look through each one and still couldn't find what i was looking for..
There was plenty of staff, mind you, but not a single one offered any assistance whatsoever. They didn't seem to have a problem, however, with lurking like peeping Toms and then slinking away every time i looked in their direction.
I reiterate: well dressed, professional looking guy here.. my pants had very limited pockets, and i had no baggage of any kind on me.. I wouldn't have anywhere to put anything.. argh.. All I wanted was a charger because my dad was in the hospital and my phone was dying and i wanted to be available for my mother to call if she needed anything. Instead I felt like an inconvenience and a suspect for no reason.
They should read the news anyway, 70% of in-store theft comes from the employees.. I guess that could be the real reason for the stodgy behavior read more
