They have a far range of offerings, everything from Short Ribs, T-Bone, Ribeyes, Porterhouse, Beef/Pork Bacon, and more. After buying her meats, I can't go back to supermarkets. Although the animals were beautiful in appearance, they seemed to only respond to the owner when she plied them with treats. They didn't seem to be trained to walk along with strangers, namely people they were not familiar with. I was especially disappointed as I had booked a private as opposed to a group hike. I will say that the owner was accommodating when the weather was not conducive to hiking; she allowed us to change our reservation to another day.

This is owned and operated by a farm-to-table-loving husband and wife team; they are both extremely affable and deeply informative on the surrounding areas and history of the Catskills. Learned some incredible facts: ask about the ford dealership that struck a deal with Henry Ford himself! There is some time in the van between tastings, as expected, but the views are gorgeous and the company was great. They have multiple tour options so we'd definitely do this again when we visit. Who doesn't have trees on the brain right around Thanksgiving? We went the Saturday after and it was a perfect experience, from the selection of trees to the helpful staff to the incredibly low price of $65 per tree. We have a great room with vaulted ceilings in a chalet-style home and have wanted a huge tree since we bought the house 2 years ago. Our first Christmas in this house was last year and we bought what we had thought was a big tree, at 8 feet, but it looked tiny! We had bought it at a lot and the biggest trees were so expensive. I couldn't believe that ALL trees are the same price at Abel's! It's my first time going to an actual farm, so I'm not sure if this is standard. One of the workers asked us what we were looking for and directed us towards the blue spruce area because it had the tallest trees. There is a LOT to choose from here. We found our perfect enormous tree in minutes. What you need to know: -cash or check only -pay first and get a ticket -they provide hand saws but will allow you to bring your own. We brought a chainsaw (not encouraged, but allowed, heheheh) -there are handcarts but you may luck out like we did and someone may drive up to bring your tree down for you -they will wrap up your tree and strap it to your car Finally, tip those dudes! They deserve it. This is a novel concept to me, but apparently some folks actually tailgate here. There's a special lot for that. Now go and get your tree! It's not even 12/1 and with the way everything is going this year, you deserve that perfect tree to make the holidays at home the best that they can be.
