For drinks, it was one Vanilla Latte and one London Fog Tea Latte. We asked for mugs, but they were served in glasses instead. Not quite the same, but acceptable. Both drinks were made well, with good texture, nice flavor, and the right temperature. For food, we ordered one Veggie Quiche and a piece of Spanakopita. After they were reheated properly (see Service below), both were very good. I had the Spanakopita, and it was loaded with spinach and feta. The dough-to-filling ratio was excellent. The flavors were rich and complex. The portion size was large, larger than my appetite, but I somehow managed to keep working on it until I was completely stuffed. Service: The service around the food was disappointing. Even though we were clearly dining in, our order was marked as takeout. This created a number of issues. When the food arrived in takeout containers, I mentioned that we were eating inside (especially obvious since our drinks were in glasses). The server simply shrugged and said, "Oh well, they are marked as takeout." I went to the counter and asked for plates and that the food be brought to the proper temperature. It took a while, but they eventually returned with the food reheated, served on plates, and replaced the plastic utensils with metal ones. There was very little acknowledgment that a mistake had been made, and no real apology for the delays. Atmosphere: The place is rustic and right on the water. It reminded me of a fish shanty, in a charming way. There are a couple of different rooms for seating, and we chose one in the back that was quieter. I liked the authentic feel of it. However, there were some areas with old furniture piled up for storage, which took away a bit from the overall look. They also have an outdoor patio that overlooks the river, which would be a lovely spot to sit on a warm day. We would go back. If we ordered food again, I would just make sure they clearly understood from the start that we were dining in so the details were handled correctly.

I was more impressed with the chai tea latte scone and wished I had purchased more than one. The burrito was ok. I liked the bacon pepper jam but had a hard time finding much pulled pork in it. The restaurant is a cute little place. They have a drive-thru window for easy ordering if you can't or don't want to come inside and there's a few tables to sit at inside. Tight for space inside and with a long line (presuming from the nearby resort and lake properties), we had a chance to look around. There is so much signage and memorabilia on the walks that makes it hard to decipher their menu and offerings. We made it simple-an iced americano and an iced coffee (they don't offer cold brew). After the 1st sip, the cozy, quaint, nostalgic feel of this place wore off and we both agreed that it was some of the worst coffee we have had in quite some time. The beans tasted over roasted leaving the cold brew tasting like cigarettes. My americano suffered the same fate and espresso pulls felt too short leaving it bitter tasting. It may be the only place in town but I would keep driving in order to find an acceptable cup 'o joe.
