No matter when I call, or go in in person-the pharmacy staff lacks knowledge, customer service and efficiency.

Closed early. Came by around 9:50 (posted sign states store closes at 10pm which matches the info I got before driving over) tonight to quickly deposit money into my cashapp account and was disappointed to see they had already locked the doors. They also had a sign on the door that stated there "systems were down" and were only accepting cash at the moment, at least when they were still open anyway. Unsure if they will be able to accept credit/debit cards when they open in the morning or not. read more

I've experienced multiple problems with my prescriptions on a number of occasions at this Walgreens. I dropped off a prescription on a Thursday and was told it would be available the next day. By the following Tuesday, it still hadn't been filled. I called and was told that someone had "forgotten to place the pharmacy's order for medications over the weekend" and that was why my prescription wasn't available. This resulted in me to having to request that my prescription be transferred to the Walgreen's in Laguna Hills to receive my medication, 5 days late. Today, I waited a half hour in the drive up line. When I got to the window, no one assisted me for 10 minutes until someone came to the window and said I'd be helped as soon as someone was available. I waited another 5-10 minutes. I then asked to pick up 3 prescriptions that I had been notified were filled. A young man came to the window after a delay and said he couldn't find one of the prescriptions. I was told to wait until they could locate it or provide me with another prescription. I was in line a total of 50 minutes. This resulted in cars behind me honking in frustration. I've also gone twice to pick up prescriptions on different occasions and was told that the pharmacist was on a break (this was during their posted business hours, not the weekend lunch breaks). This required 2 return trips for prescriptions. The staff at this pharmacy appears to change over frequently and are not familiar with how to handle their job responsibilities. While I realize they are trying their best, the service here is unacceptable and causes me to be concerned about whether this lack of attention and professionalism may impact the accuracy of the medication that I receive here. I would not be using Walgreens if my insurance company didn't require me to do so. read more

Helpful people work here and there are short lines. Prices seem reasonable and they have a club card. Pharmacy is very good with shorter lines than other places. The store is not crowded usually and there's often someone to help you with any questions you might have. Their photo department is good. I have had pictures developed here and they came out well. They have lots of fun sweatshirts, t-shirts and toys. Good place to shop. read more

It will take DAYS for a prescription to even be addressed, and if there's an issue they don't let you know unless you call in. Even then, you will be put on hold for a very long time! It's very strange that this pharmacy sucks so much when the DRIVE THRU Walgreens down the street has the nicest staff, low wait times, and are very professional. The Walgreens on La Paz is out of a medication I need so they told me to go to this one. Called this store and the lady has me give my birth date, state my first and last name, spell my entire first and last name, confirms it. Then takes her sweet time looking it up and asks me for my first name again? Like....?!? This is not rocket science. Then tells me a 45 minute wait for a prescription that is in stock. I have never waited that long before at any other Walgreens. With all the negative reviews I'm surprised this pharmacy is still in business. read more

I finally quit this pharmacy, after over 10 years of doing business there. They used to be good at customer service. A new manager came in and they could not keep competent staff. It does seem understaffed, and some of it may be because of the Covid situation. However, the pharmacy manager does not listen, the technicians don't have basic business manners like they used to have. So, I left and went to a competing local pharmacy and so far, it has been very good. I blame the current situation of extreme slowness and lack of good trained help on the store manager and pharmacy manager. In the past, I would have given it a good rating, but as others have mentioned it is not the outlet it used to be. You feel like you do not matter and I feel are treated imperiously by the pharmacy manager. read more

I had decided not to assign any stars to this review, as doing so would invariably present an inaccurate picture of this establishment in that I would be forced to either give a -1 star to reflect Jennifer's (the pharmacy tech or pharmacist, I'm not sure) sheer arrogance & ineptitude, or I'd give 5 stars for the management & the professional & cordial manner in which my complaint was handled by the onsite manager. Unfortunately, that is not an option, & leaving a 2.5-star rating (right down the middle) is impossible. Hence, my 2-star rating. I had arrived to fill a prescription I had previously filled here without incident. During my last visit, I had been assisted by the male pharmacy tech/pharmacist who treated me kindly & with respect. This time I was not to be so fortunate. Enter Jennifer. From the moment she laid eyes on me she eyed me with hostility. She glanced cursorily at my prescription, slapped it on the counter & refused to recognize it. The reason? She provided the absurd excuse that in the field where it specifies the number of refills my doctor had circled the box stipulating "0 refills". What SHOULD the doctor have placed in that field, according to Jennifer? An X. She clung stubbornly to her insistence that only a prescription bearing an "X" would be acceptable, no checkmarks or circles. Really??? How long has she been a pharmacy tech or pharmacist, I wondered? Is it possible to be ignorant enough to believe that doctors use only x's & elegant calligraphy when scribbling their prescriptions? Typically, deciphering a prescription requires some element of literary skills. In this case, however, my doctor's writing was impeccable. Instead, it was the fact that he had circled the box stating "0 refills" as opposed to having placed an "x" in it. Now, I would understand Jennifer's need for clarification had my doctor circled a box that granted unlimited refills. Yet, for a "0 refills" prescription, as soon as the prescription has been filled, the pharmacy retains that prescription. It is not returned to the patient. And rudimentary reading skills would have allowed her to note the date & time stamp of my prescription & the fact that it had been penned only an hour before. Perhaps I should have better managed my astonishment at her poor literary skills, but my bewilderment was apparently too obvious, & she became incensed by my questioning her. Her eyes bulged, her voice became louder, & her tone more hostile as she scolded me. Shocked by her lack of professionalism & ability to treat a patient/customer with respect, I reminded her that it was no way to talk to a customer. Her retort? "That's right. You shouldn't talk to me like that!" Wait, what???? Further bewildered & confused, I clarified, "I'm the customer here, you're the attendant." At this, she became yet more agitated. She told me I should stop & take a deep breath. Why? She was the one hyperventilating, with nostrils flaring, neck veins pulsating audibly & widened bulging eyes. At this point, I realized it was no use attempting to reason with her. You can't, after all, reason with an unreasonable person, nor can you rationalize with an irrational & erratic person. I told her nevermind, I would fill my prescription elsewhere at an establishment that is actually helpful to its customers. Her response? "You do that!" And indeed, I did. After reporting the incident to the onsite manager & leaving an official complaint, I took my prescription about a mile away to the Walgreens on La Paz road. The consummate professionals there examined & filled it without incident, sparing me, the patient/customer, further trauma. I will never, ever return to this pharmacy. There is never an excuse for discourtesy to patients & customers, let alone abject rudeness & hostility. A word to Jennifer: ignorant incompetence that is eclipsed only by arrogance is an ugly trait. It doesn't look good on you. Furthermore, if you carry such evident disdain for people, you are in the wrong profession. Healthcare is ALL about caring for & providing the absolute BEST care to patients. I should know. I'm a nurse. No matter the circumstance, you must ALWAYS conduct yourself professionally, kindly, with empathy & a diplomatic tone & demeanor. When serving patients, you take on a humble role; you are there to help & assist, not drive & dictate. Bad attitudes & ill temperaments must be left at the door. After all, it's NOT ABOUT YOU!! It's about providing quality service. If these concepts are Greek to you, you will not last in this profession. My advice to you is this: use your next paycheck on some etiquette classes. Take as many as you need or as many as it takes to fix your attitude. If that doesn't work or you're unwilling to do it, start looking for a profession that does not require dealing with patients. As it stands, you lack the skills, demeanor, & bedside manner required for a healthcare professional. read more

I had a flu shot vaccination appointment this afternoon. I arrived on time only to have to wait in line due to others who were having issues with their appointments. I finally got to check in and my temperature was taken and I was asked screening questions (even though I had already completed them online). She asked if I had insurance and I informed her yes, I had already uploaded my insurance card to website when I made my appointment. She couldn't pull it up so I had to show it again. She then informed me that they do not accept Anthem for flu shots. I told her that the Anthem website lists their location as one of their providers for flu shots. She asked the manager and again said no. I pulled up the website to show them the pharmacy was listed. She basically just shrugged and said she didn't know why. Total waste of my time. Luckily there's a CVS right down the street that took me and my Anthem insurance immediately with no appointment necessary. Thanks for nothing Walgreens. read more

I needed a syringe and a girl who worked here saw me about to buy one and she told me I can just ask the pharmacy for one and they'll give me one for free. We were right by the pharmacy and she saw there was a line and right away she said "oh there's a line let me just go and get it for you." I understand I can be difficult to put up with at times (especially when there's issues with my prescriptions, no fault of Walgreens). I went in today after testing positive for the flu. I'm also pregnant so I'm beyond miserable. I went directly back to the pharmacy. There was one person I front of me so I waited. The pharmacist then says "ma'am you'll have to come back, we are closing for lunch and you'll have to come back in 30 minutes" to which I beggingly replied "please, I'm pregnant and I have the flu". She just said she was sorry and I would have to come back. I get they need to eat but did she really expect me to go sit miserably in my car for 30 minutes? There was no one behind me and I was literally begging her. I have been a loyal customer of Walgreens for 3 years. After today's heartless and lack of empathy encounter, I will be transferring all my and my husbands prescriptions to CVS immediately. read more

There may not be much to do in Aliso Viejo, but they have a great deal of great pharmacies. Maybe because no one gets sick, well, but me. I would venture to say that this is the best Walgreens on earth. There is never anyone in here. It is so clean and glorious. They are also extremely helpful and not as long of a line as CVS. There is also a drive-through for your prescriptions, so you don't have to wait in line for two hours with a bunch of sick people to get your fill on. Pro-tip: they have awesome made for TV products for white elephants and for your own enjoyment! Also, parking is a breeze! read more

I used to go to the CVS down the block. After nearly committing homicide multiple times due to frustration over lack of service and long pharmacy waits, I decided to transfer all of my prescriptions here. Thank God I did. I've never had to wait longer than 5 minutes for a prescription, the drive thru is an extra plus, great big clean store, and super friendly customer service. Tons of parking. And Trader Joe's and Panera is right next door so you can get your grocery shopping and pick up a yummy lunch at the same time. Win, win, win. read more

This review is only on the actual pharmacy (not the store). The pharmacist (Jill) is AMAZING and this review has nothing to do with her. My issue, complaint, & review is about the customer service behind the pharmacy window. The people that go into the box, locate your prescription, and check you out. This Walgreens hands down has the worse "customer service" any client should have to deal with. They are rude, slow, lazy, incompetent, and condescending. If they worked in my business, I would fire them all. In addition, the pharmacy hours are horrible. They are not open late and close by 6:00 PM on weekends. But believe it or not, they close the pharmacy between 1-3 PM for get this, "lunch"!! That's right, they close the pharmacy completely in the middle of the day for a lunch break. The entire office is shuttered. That is equivalent to an emergency room in a hospital taking lunch breaks in the middle of a day and turning away patients. It is unbelievable, unacceptable, and unconscionable. So there you have it. This pharmacy employs rude incompetent lazy employees that close down the business in the middle of the day so they all can enjoy a lunch together. Again, the main pharmacist is amazing. She is sole reason I have kept my business there, but I am not sure how much longer I can tolerate this location. read more

Where is the customer service? That's the thought I had one leaving the drive-through This location will treat you like you are a number, and not a customer. No thank you, no friendly smiles, just right to the point. I dropped off a prescription, the person who took it, was very much like talking to a machine. Upon picking it up, there was a mixup, and I was told that perhaps the person previously did not understand me correctly. When I verified three times with them. It's hard to mix up one dollar versus five dollars. Next time I'll go to a different Walgreens. They do get an extra star for having the prescription ready when they said it would be. read more

I made an appointment online a week ago for pfizer booster & was told I can take flu shot too. I was told to come 15 min early. I waited 55 minutes & then I was told that the wrong flu shot was filled in. The reason for the long wait was because 3 employees were assisting to find the prescription for one customer rather than assisting other customers waiting. When I complained the pharmacist said "are you going to argue with me?". All other employee were rude too. The store manager I was told was Jeff. TIME&PLACE: Saturday afternoon I have to say this is the FRIENDLIEST Walgreens I've ever, ever walked into. I stopped by to grab a few things for my parents and someone cheerfully (it sounded genuine!) greeted me when I came in... and as I perused the aisles, someone else asked how I was doing in a way that exuded friendlinesss -- I actually looked behind me to double check she was talking to me! And on top of that, they have these... magical... contraptions... instead of regualr baskets or annoying carts, they have these baskets with rollers that have extended handles! So you can grab a basket and roll it around behind you, almost like a rolly backpack or suitcase. Sounds nerdier than it is, trust me. I think I want one EVERYWHERE I shop... doh. read more

Went to pick up a prescription today and found that the drive through is being used for COVID testing only. I had to park and go inside to get the prescription. I asked how long they would be keeping the drive through closed. They do not know and they are short of help, I'm trying to figure out how my going inside helps with staffing when the same number of people are still working in their area. The only thing I can assume is that the government is paying more for "free COVID tests" than they get for filling prescriptions. No one was getting tested from the time I arrived until I left with the Free Test. This is a sad case of a business forgetting what their core business is and serving it. read more

I've decided that Walgreens is far superior to CVS. Their Pharmacy is more accurate and efficient, and their stores always have what I need when I need it. This store in Aliso Viejo is new and the service is quite nice. However, my only beef with Walgreens is, when they acquired RiteAid and started rebranding the stores, the Thrifty's ice cream stuff has disappeared...BOO! Nothing beats Thrifty's mint chip ice cream on an old fashioned cone. read more

Unbelievable. My 2 year old kid just broke his collar bone which, the doctor said, has to heal naturally. He is in major pain. I go to walgreens on Marguerite and La Paz in Mission Viejo Ca because i heard they were 24 hours and I need Lortab tm (kids vicodin) badly. The sign on the door says nearest 24 hour pharmacy on Newport Avenue and Irvine Blvd in Tustin. I drive 35 minute in each direction only to find out that there was a 24 hour cvs across the street. My little kid is screaming and crying in pain because Walgreen's corporation is more interested in making a few extra bucks at night than in helping a customer. We all know what happens to business that forget that customers come before $$$ (they get tons of negative publicity and lose their customers). I vow to never set foot in a Walgreen's again and I will spread this story over the Internet with all my power. I will get it to AP and the LA Times. If you are reading this, forward it to anyone and everyone with a kid, a grand kid or a niece or nephew. Oh here's an unpdate I go by the pharmacy the next night and I ask the night manager "Chuck" where the "nearest 24 hour pharmacy". He ouright lies to me and tells me the closest one is in Tustin. What a creep and his two helpers literally stated giggling when I asked the question. I wonder if this is what old man Walgreen had in mind when he started the business. I recently had to sit and wait here for an hour waiting for my doctors office to fax over a prescription for me. The pharmacy staff made me feel comfortable and valued while I was sitting and waiting for my prescription and was constantly checking in with me to see if I was okay. They have turned me into a Walgreens customer for life with their friendly personalities and welcoming demeanor. I am seriously thankful for them. Good job Walgreens! read more

I can genuinely say I dread going to this Walgreens. There's been multiple experiences when I go for the simplest of checking out for cough medicine or get something on clearance, to promo items that the one person who is always there is always in such a piss poor mood that I have had to ask her are you having a bad day? To see if it was just that day which she responded to yes but the issue is it happens every time I see her, she gets upset when I ask her anything which I don't work there how would I know when the candy goes on sale, or what items cost what if theres no tag like wtf. I donteant to put her name out here because I feel bad considering she may just be a sad person with no support leading her to take it out on her job, but hopefully the company reads this and hires some customer service reps who have some pep in there step or teach classes on how to separate work and play because it really really is a dread coming in to the place its the closest store to me like so, so I want to feel comfortable where I'm spending my time and money. read more

I went to Walgreens to fill a prescription after CVS no longer carried it and I'm so glad I did. First of all this location is tough because there's a CVS in the plaza next door but I always hated shopping at CVS because it was so busy. The pharmacy is always packed with long lines and very irritated people that work there. I once had to complain to a manager after standing at the Pharmacy Consultation line for 20 minutes without so much as someone even acknowledging my presence. I always dreaded going there but felt there was no other alternatives. Now enter Walgreens. Upon my first visit the pharmacist saved me $10 a month on my prescription because she cared enough to check how much my secondary insurance was charging which was $10 less. They never bothered to do this at CVS. I also had a yearly discount for the prescription that wasn't coming up and she stayed on the telephone on hold for a long time and told me I could leave and that she would stay on as long as possible until she talked to someone and got me the discount ... and she did. I was so impressed. Now every time I've been there I've noticed nothing but helpful and friendly staff. I'm not going back to CVS ever. Experience the difference and stop standing at the long CVS lines with the cranky employees. read more

The pharmacy at this location is absolutely unbearable. I avoid this location at all cost. One of their pharmacists, her name is Jill, is so rude and short with customers. She has a very rough physical apperance and a sour attitude to match. She was discusing my medication with the pharmacy tech, right in front of me, but wouldn't even look at me. She was talking about me as if I were not even standing there. This behavior on top of her dismissive and disrespectful attitude, makes dealing with her very unplesant. In addition, she discussed sensitive medical information very loudly so even other customers were able to hear her. In fact, one of the other customers looked at me and said I should file a complaint because what she was doing was very unprofessional and even violating hippa privacy law. I will never go to this location for mine or my family's medications again! read more
