I work in the service industry and this was THE WORST customer service. Do not suggest going here unless you want to be treated like crap while just trying to pick up a prescription. You'd think people who are in the industry of helping others would be a little nicer. I waited for 15 minutes behind other cars while the lady helped them and when I pulled up, I waited patiently another 15 minutes after she made eye contact with me, thinking she was just busy. And after I pressed the call button she still looked at me and didn't answer. The next night I went inside and they excused ignoring me by saying they were closed the night before, but why couldn't they just tell me that instead of knowing I am sitting there waiting? Extremely rude. I waited for 10 minutes that next night and when they finally helped me right at 9pm and they said they were closed so they wouldn't take my insurance. I am now going to have to go for a THIRD time just to pick up a prescription. I work late and cannot get there until close to 8:45pm at night. Insane to me that they will not help someone who has been sitting or standing there waiting on them. Again, I work in the service industry and I understand closing and wanting to leave, but we do not turn away people who have been waiting since before closing time and ignore them like they aren't even there and their time means nothing. Extremely rude, and I hope management cares enough to do something about it. read more

Pharmacy is SO slow. Went three different times in one day and service was super slow every time. After getting and paying for my prescription, they incorrectly charged my card by $30 and didn't verify the insurance like they were supposed to. read more

Unfortunately my insurance requires me to use Walgreens and while I have tried to give this location more than one chance the level of incompetency, disregard or sheer apathy for customer service and the overall customer experience makes the location at McDermott in Allen a complete disaster. This time I dropped off 4 prescriptions at 9am after an urgent treatment visit and was told they should be ready for pickup between 11:30 and noon and I would receive a text. No text after noon then I decided to try and pick them up at 4pm figuring surely they would be ready. After 40 minutes in the drive-thru line I was told 2 of the prescriptions were still not ready and "may" be ready before they close at 9pm. This was yesterday - I never received a text saying they are complete so I'm still not sure if they are but you can rest assured I won't spend 40 minutes in the drive-thru lane waiting again - I'll call first. If you have to use Walgreens I would certainly recommend any other than this location. *UPDATE* Just checked - 27 hours and "still being processed" SMH read more

My pediatrician prescribed my son an ointment for ringworm a month ago. The reason why it took me a month to get it, is because I NEVER got any notification from them that the ointment was ready for pick up. I tried to called them 3x and all I got was an answering machine (and never a pharmacist) that I have no prescription status. After my 3rd call from them, I called my pedia and they said that the prescription was already forwarded to the walgreens but they promised to call the pharmacy for me to confirm and so they did. Turned out that my ointment WAS THERE all along. That was the 1st time. The Second time, my son's neurologist prescribed him a new medication for his ADHD after our appointment with them in the morning. Again, I didnt got any notification that the medicine was already ready for pick up. So my husband went there 2hours before their closing and checked it by himself if it was already there. Turned out that my prescription was already ready but they just NEVER notified us. VERY INCONVENIENT. I will NEVER go to this pharmacy again and trust my medicine with them. read more

Insurance now requires we use Walgreens, so doctor sends in a prescription for my daughter, I arrive 30 minutes later to be told it would be another 30 minutes, I had to get back to work so my wife went an hour later to be told another 30 minutes with no guarantee that was the truth or not. 3 hours later our prescription was finally ready. If you want to be treated like a criminal for needing a prescription of Tylenol with Codeine this is the place to go! We walked to the pharmacy and handed them the prescription and the started asking question in a very accusing manor. Was the person that prescription for there, when did he see the doctor. Then the guy went over to another employee, that one said we have to cal the doctor to confirm. Then when I asked how long we were told an hour. An hour!! Seriously, can you not see my son is in pain. No thank you, we just go to our regular Walgreens, in and out of there is 15 minutes. Thank you!! read more

I left the Pharmacy because nothing was ever ready, customer service was lacking and personnel was rude. I am now leaving the photo department for the same reason. Pretty sure you will have to pay ME to use Walgreens in the future. read more

Went here for passport photo a few days ago. The shift manager took the picture and forced me to flatten down my hair and tuck it behind my ears. Also no smile. She stated that the passport office would not accept a photo if the ears were not visible or shadows on the face. I refused but she said she would not take photo if I didn't comply. I relented. Needless to say... I looked like a dork and the photo was really dark due to poor lighting. I went home and did some research and discovered that you ARE allowed to have a natural smile and there is no requirement for ears to be shown. I also saw many online complaints about Walgreens relative to this issue. Today I went to another source to get my photo taken...with smile and no ears showing. Now I don't need to look like a dork for the next 10 years! Walgreens really needs to get in sync with the actual government RULES... not the preferences. I got a refund thanks to the store manager. I have been a customer at this store for 15 years. About a year ago many of the long time pharmacy techs left and they were replaced with pharmacy techs that do not seem to know how to use the system and do not have much experience. In fact one of the people who left later told me that Walgreens was systematically getting rid of the long time techs and replacing them with tech trainees. The service has really suffered and I am now transferring my prescriptions. read more

I was waiting hours for my medication, I went up there three times trying to pick up my medication, like how long does it take to give me a bag of pills, I'm literally sitting at home in pain from my infection and they sit here and take there sweet time to make my stuff and the place was about to close soon and they still haven't texted me that my medication was ready when I've been waiting hours so I call up there and they took forever to answer and they finally answered at 8:48 and said my medication would be done at 8:50 so I expected them to still be there since they are telling me to come get my medication so late but then I get there at about 9:02 and those inconsiderate rude employees had already left when I just had called and they just had told me to come pick my stuff up, like how are you going to expect me to get there in 2.5 seconds, why would you leave without giving me my stuff when you just told me to come get it, so now I have to sit here in PAIN when I've been waiting ALLL DAY to get my medication and wait for them to open in the morning, so don't go there cause they are very inconsiderate and are the worst pharmacy to go to in Allen, they gave me no updates about my medication all day that's some bull, they deserve 0 stars I could be getting well right now but they want to play with my health read more

Great experience with the pharmacy. Went to pick up my prescription and my medical insurance card was expired. Somehow she was able to look my info up the computer thus saving me a significant amount of money. Much appreciated, will defiantly be my goto pharmacy when and if I need prescriptions filled in the future. read more

I just moved here from a different state and unfortunately my 3 year old got sick. We had an emergency room visit and she was prescribed antibiotics. I called my local Walgreens pharmacy (this location) to ask if my insurance would cover an out of state prescription and if not how much the prescription would cost. I spoke to a woman named Angela. She was the rudest person I have ever dealt with. I asked her if I had to physically be there to fill a prescription or if I was able to do so over the phone. She responded with a sarcastic, "Are you the physician that made the order?, Then no..." Hence, prior to me asking her that, I had just explained to her my situation and told her that I was the patients mom. She was absolutely rude and now reading the reviews on this location I can see I'm not the only one who has had an issue with customer service here. I don't understand why you choose to take a job in customer service if you don't like it. Management needs do a better job with dealing with employees like her. I will not be using this Walgreens location solely because of Angela. She was not only sarcastic but rude the entire call. Customer service absolute zero. Arrived after visit to Carenow at 9:45 pm with very basic antibiotic prescription. Pharmacy tech said they couldn't take a new prescription when they closed in only 15 minutes. They need to post their timeframes on their website and door! "No new prescriptions filled within 30 minutes of closing" CVS from now on for me!! The only reason they got one star is that you can't post zero. read more

After 6 years of my business, I will never spend another dollar at Walgreens. After a visit to the doctor today, I dropped off my 4 prescriptions at 11:30AM to be told that they wouldn't be ready until 2:45PM because they were busy. I'm sick and asked if there was anything they could do to have them ready earlier, but they didn't think so. I had conference calls this afternoon so I couldn't get back to pharmacy until 6:15PM. They proceeded to ring up my "3" prescriptions, I asked about the 4th and the tech had to go pull the original prescription to check (she had no clue how many I was supposed to have). She then told me that they didn't have the 4th medication. I asked why no one had bothered to communicate with me since it was now 7 hours later to which she had no answer. I have watched the service go downhill over the last year, but I had remained loyal. No more, I took my prescription to CVS where it was filled in less than 30 minutes for all 4 prescriptions. They were professional, caring and nice. Something that I no longer see at Walgreens. read more

I live less than 3 miles from this Walgreen Rx location. After one the most horrendous episodes of incompetence and unresponsiveness by the pharmacy, I wouldn't patronize this location ever again. Were it not for my insurance mandate, Walgreen would be history. Verification???... Just try and talk to an Rx staff member over the phone and see if you succeed!!! read more
