Walgreens pharmacy 3001 Eldorado parkway in McKinney, Tx used to be our favorite location!!!! In the past month or so April/March 2026, a shift happened! They no longer answer their phone in this location. You can hear when someone picks up the phone then places your call on hold again. The staff used to be consistently kind when you would walk in or go through the drive through. No more! When I typically pick up medication here I don't get a prior email, text, or phone that my order is ready. I've mentioned it to them they just say they'll reset my phone to receive calls. Still no change! Today we went in to purchase Mylar balloons, because their inventory is so low we thought we'd purchase them and come back with our receipt in 6 days and have them fill the Mylar balloons with helium. We were highly disappointed when the manager told us we couldn't do that. Her poor reaching for a justifiable excuse was when you pay for balloons at a party store you have to take the balloons with you at that time!!! Anyone that has ever purchased balloons at a party store knows this isn't true! You can pay for your balloons ahead of time and pick them up at a later date example: the day you're having your party! read more

Cannot fill a prescription correctly no matter how many times it's sent in. Wish I could go elsewhere.

Having a store open all night offers convenience but it doesn't help if they can't provide service successfully. I worked late on a project and needed a passport that is going to require a rush. Many companies that offer this service flat out fail which is why I ended up at Walgreens late at night trying to accomplish this. I needed a digital copy of a photo - and they took the photo and provided photos, but the digital copy never appeared after 24 hours. The ONLY reason I drove to another town was because it was the location that was open that provided the service. There is NO help provided without driving back to this location. I will still give 2 stars because the store is open late, but don't expect service after you pay. I wouldn't give them any money for anything that isn't fulfilled at time of order - you won't be reimbursed without jumping through hoops. read more

Dishonest and trying to overcharge me at the front register. I had one prescription from this store transferred here cause they didn't have the red dye free one at my pharmacy in Anna. The problem with this store is that I caught them trying to overcharge me at the front store register for something else. I wanted plain Pepto Bismal generic for one time use. When I tried to buy the Walgreens brand for $4.99 the young man at the register said it was $5.97 I told him no it's $4.99 then he looked it up in his IPhone and said it was $5.97 again, was he making that up? . I said it's not and I turned it down. The store manager was aware but didn't take over when I told the cashier that it was a different price on the shelf. I purchased my other small item then went to the back again to check and I was right. I took a photo of the item off the shelf with the right price and went back to show to the guy. He didn't seem to care just said do you still want it. I said no and left. Just beware of higher prices that they put into their registers when you pay. I don't trust this store, now. Just a terrible experience. I pull up to the window, 24 hours after my Dr called in prescription. Yesterday it was showing delayed. Today on the app everything seemed fine. When I get there, I'm told they can't fill my prescription because my Dr was in Lubbock. No call, nothing to tell me that, just had to show up to be denied. Also the gentleman at the drive up window was totally rude, I got mmm hmmm, and yep from them, they have zero concern for their customers. It's never a good experience with this pharmacy, they are a nightmare every time we need something. Just terrible. Go to Tom Thumb, or really any other pharmacy. Just an awful experience. read more

I want to warn other customers of the incompetency of the pharmacy at this Walgreens. My 10-month old grandson was diagnosed with the flu last night around 10:30pm. The doctor called in a prescription to Walgreens because they are listed as the only 24-hour pharmacy in McKinney. Walgreens told my daughter that the prescription would be filled in 30 minutes. I had transferred away from this pharmacy long ago but was transferred back when the Tom Thumb closed the store. As soon as Tom Thumb came back I switched back. 24x7 is nice, but I have wasted too much time in line at this Walgreens. A family member still fills their prescriptions there and I went at 10 pm to pick one up. The drive-through was backed up so I went inside. With one person in front of me, it was 20-25 minutes just to pick up and pay. They always have plenty of staff, but there is never a sense of urgency. It is always excruciatingly slow. For good measure, the roach reported in the review on 4/19/2022 is still in the bathroom. read more

Depending on the staff information is inaccurate. I called picked up a prescription and the prescription inside is not the correct name. I returned the prescription and it took 2 weeks to sort it all out calling them repeatedly. I also have incidents where the staff tells me they are out of stock on a prescription and the prescription filled in after 30 minutes? I have many more incidents on this specific location where staff gives inaccurate info and doesn't seem to know what to do. I am officially moving pharmacy. I went to the drive thru window pharmacy.at Walgreens. My person helping me was named Logan... He was very busy, he had a constant line of maybe 5 to six cars. He handled everything with Grace and charm and had a smile and a wonderful disposition to match.... To sum it up he was AMAZING!!!! This is a 24 hour Walgreens so you know he is busy. Honestly, this location is so convenient for a pharmacy and the fact they are 24/7 is fantastic!Employees are great, products are plentiful, pharmacy drive though, not so much. Can Walgreens hire someone from Chick-fil-A to teach a faster way improve wait times? My average time(in the evenings) is at least 45 minutes. Typing this while on a 10-minute hold waiting for a live person. This is the worst experience I've ever had with a pharmacy. They filled my prescription with the wrong drug. We found out when my wife got home. They refused to take it back because it's a controlled substance. Then they told me it was the doctor's fault. Checked with the doctor who said it was Walgreen's fault. 5 days later the doctor's office agreed it was their and called in the correct prescription. That was the 9th, today is the 17th and I, the patient, do not have my medicine. I called the local store automated service and they did not show any prescription. I called another number and a live person said yes, they see a prescription, and they are waiting for delivery. I would have expected to hear some update from them at the very least... ***update, it's 20 minutes on hold and I'm hanging up***. ...after 8 days' wait. This is a third world service experience! I've been using Walgreens for 20 years, now. In the last 3 years, I have been continually disappointed in this company's ability to provide and follow up and follow through. They can't get my address changes entered correctly. I've had to redo my address with them over and over and over. Something is not working correctly with their alert system. I've entered repeat orders over and over and over whereas previously my auto reorders were smooth. I've had prescriptions delayed for days on end without any follow up as to why they were delayed except that they were out of stock only to discover they weren't out of stock after all. I've had an automated response saying they were delaying because of an insurance issue with the promise to let me know as soon as it was resolved only to never hear for days on end from them. Then when I finally called they said I have to deal with my insurance - but did they ever tell me that while I'm waiting on my blood thinner med????? Nope. I found out by calling them since they didn't do their part and follow through. And. now it's the weekend and insurance is closed until Monday. By then I will have been without my blood thinner for 7 days. My mom & dad have never had any issues with Walmart Pharmacy. I'm done with Walgreens and will switch permanently on Monday (if I haven't had a blood clot go to my heart or brain by then. Done. Done. Done. I'm done with Walgreens. read more

Worst customer service!! My 8 yo grandson was accidentally overdosed on his insulin. The doctor sent an emergent prescription to Walgreens because they were the nearest 24 hr pharmacy. We called to verify it would be ready upon our arrival, because the doctor said grandson needed it within an hour. We were driving from another town and on hold for 30 minutes with NO answer! I used my husband's phone to call the store manager and asked her to walk back to the pharmacy and ask them to pick up the phone for an emergent call and the manager REFUSED! Of course the medication wasn't ready upon our arrival, and was actually OUT OF STOCK despite the pharmacy verifying to the doctor that they had it in stock before he sent the prescription! This pharmacy put my grandson's LIFE AT RISK and DELAYED MEDICAL CARE for a DIABETIC 8 YEAR OLD! Do not use this pharmacy. read more

Called the site to see if they have my son's prescription in stock and the woman that answered the phone first asked me 3 times what the medication was and the dosage and the quantity but then would not tell me if they had it in stock and I had to come in the store. I know for a fact that is false and told her so but she talked over me so I hung up. There is a national shortage of several medications and the doctors are legally not allowed to move the prescription more than like twice so I have to call around every month. Just spent an hour on hold trying to get an update on my medication that should have been filled on 6.8.23. When I first called and someone answered, I was told it would be tomorrow morning but she would transfer me to someone to see if it's possible to pick up tonight. After 35 min., a person came on for 2 seconds, called me the wrong name, put me back on hold without asking what I need or my name. No one ever came back on the line - just put back on hold for another 25 min when I finally hung up. This is the most ridiculous thing ever! This is the second time I have experienced unacceptable treatment from the pharmacist and staff. The first time, I was told they are too busy to process my request in a timely manner. The pharmacist said they are busy and pretty much he didn't care. I had a chronic condition and needed my medication asap. They made a mistake by putting my medication was a 14 day supply vs 2 days even though it was only for 8 pills and I've had several refills previously for this medication. After the pharmacist explained this to me 3 times, which I already understood, I asked if he could just contact my doctor to get the issue corrected since it was his error. I explained I was headed to the hospital next because of my condition and he didn't seem concerned and again explained there were other fills ahead of me and he would get to it when he had time. I left there crying feeling so hurt that someone in the medical field would care so little for a patient. After going to the hospital I went back to Walgreens several hours later to see if this was taken care of and I had to explain the issue all over again and it wasn't taken care of or even mentioned to staff or logged. I had to call my doctor to call the pharmacy which there was a wait well over 25 minutes. After picking up my kids from daycare and school I had to go inside the pharmacy to explain it for a 3rd time and wait over 1 hour with my 3yr old and 7year old for the pharmacist to call my doctor and have them send over a new prescription. Yesterday June 7th 2023 I went to pick up my medicine where the pharmacy staff told me one of my prescriptions wouldn't be ready until tomorrow 6-8-23 so I went to pick it up around 4pm where I was then told I couldn't pick it up until the 11th even though I confirmed with her yesterday it was in stock and would be ready for pickup on the 8th. Walgreens pharmacist is so unprofessional and uncaring. He should choose another profession because it shows he doesn't care about people or their medical conditions. read more

This is the one 24 hour pharmacy in the area and it is a life saver for those late night prescriptions for the kids. Yes, as some of the other reviews noted, they can be a bit slow, but I blame that on the Olympic level of hurdles to jump for insurance approval and discount cards, etc. I love the Walgreens text service when my scripts are ready. It prevents me from showing up when the medicine is not yet ready. I have always found the pharmacists at this and the store at Virginia/stonebridge location to be helpful with questions and show a genuine interest in helping you to feel better. As for the store, well it is a Walgreens. It has the normal assortment of packaged food, milk, drinks, cosmetics and personal items. It isn't fancy but it does have your day to day items. Oh yes, I almost forgot, my kids will tell you they have a great selection of toys that I won't buy. read more

Open 24 hours, this location is in a nice area and is very clean and well lit. We needed to get some late night Sudafed (you know, because the ol' meth lab was runnin' a little low on raw materials), and were on our way to the WalMart at McKinney Ranch and Lake Forest. Our pharmacy tech was very friendly, even making a joke about our meth lab. He noticed our Allen Americans hockey jerseys, and mentioned that a couple of the players had been in to get some meds to help them with their injuries from a recent game including a broken collarbone (ouch). We didn't shop the rest of the store, but the aisles were uncluttered (even at the late hour) and well stocked. Definitely a very nice example of the chain. read more
