I had to get some pain meds, so I went in early and found the pharmacy didn't open till 9am. I asked if I could leave rx so it'd be ready when I came back, and was told, they couldn't do it. I asked to use the restroom, and they led me to back of store. I finally got back to store about 3:15 and was told it shouldn't take long they were slow. I asked clerk if I could use restroom and was told there wasn't one, that even they weren't allowed to use it. So, I asked to speak with manager and of course, she was out to lunch or such. I checked on my rx 45 mins later only to find it hadn't yet been filled. Finally I get to talk with manager whom let me know that they didn't have to let any one use it, I tried to inform her that I was on meds, and had been waiting almost an hour on my meds. She was totally unphased, so i suggested i might not make it to the door, without having an accident. She then announced to me, that she didn't like my attitude and didn't need all the extra. When my meds were finally ready, the staff couldn't seem to locate them. This went on about 10 mins before they got them. As I was leaving I saw these vitamins that were on clearance so I picked up like half a dozen different supplements, cause I figured I'd use them sooner or later and at that price, it'd be a crime not to. I thought ticket cost was abit high, but I was literally exhausted and had no time or energy to question. All I knew is that I just needed to get out of this toxic place. I finally left store at 5:30, and was quite upset as it left me no time for other business. Of course, when I finally did get home and look at my receipt 3/5 weren't clearance but full price. So, I guess my headache with Walgreens continues. I now pray they refund money as on receipt it says return value is only half of full cost. And one was 18.99??? Lucky for me I should be able to return to another location as inho, this business does service to no one but, themselves. I'd say, it was literally the worst experience ever. read more

I write this after having an experience at the pharmacy in the wake of the devastating Hurricane Ida. Like many others, my regular medicine was sitting on the shelf at a location that was without power. I knew the line be long once this location reopened, and because I was unable to reach anyone on the phone, I went it. The line was daunting, but it was moving. And there were a few rather grouchy people in line, it was not a horrible experience. I finally got to the front of the line and explained my predicament to the pharmacy technician. She listened and gave it some thought. Because transferring the med would involve my insurance approval, she made some notes and told me i would have to come back. I anticipated that being the next day. She said they were closing at 6, so be back for 5. I returned and hopped in line. Again - it was long and this time, there were some aggravated people because they were being told they would have to pick it up the next day. As i got up to the line, the tech recognized me and said I could have a seat because she was still on hold with my insurance. As I waited, a man who was in a lot of pain was sitting there curing everyone out (including me). After conversing with him, he calmed down. The staff never once let it bother them, they remained professional. I was able to leave that day with my medicine in hand with about 5 minutes to spare before they closed. I know that isn't always the experience here, and believe me, I have had some times when my medicine was not ready, they didn't have things, or i had rude staff assisting, but after our area was blasted by Ida, the group working surely made this experience one that i was pleased with and made some tensions decrease. read more

This Walgreens has always been a 24 hour drugstore sadly it no longer is. It does open early though. I arrived before they opened and waited it the litter filled parking lot literally! Once they opened I went in the pharmacist was very nice . He said he hadn't received my prescription so I told him to check messages which he found it. Then he asked for my insurance card since it wasn't on file . Not sure how it wasn't so I went and got it only to find out our Blue Cross Ppo plan no longer is affiliated with them anymore. So then I realized I had drove all the way from Zachary to Baton Rouge for nothing . Which honestly is not the stores fault it's mine lol. They were very nice but they definitely need to make sure they keep up with the parking lots. read more

I will not be using Walgreens anymore to fill prescriptions. It has gone down hill. I went to the doctor and he sent in some prescriptions to the pharmacy. So I went to pick them up. I stood at the counter and saw four people working in back. One woman kept going to the drive thru window, but everyone ignored me. Finally after awhile I'm acknowledged. I'm told my medicine needs to be put together. So I wait 20 mins. They call me up, I pay. The woman hands me my bag without even looking at me. Such rude customer service. read more

Once, I was able to figure out the right CVS Caremark subscriber numbers, the prescriptions were refilled promptly and efficiently. This is the closest Walgreens to me, and unfortunately, I am forced to use it. I usually get my medications from Walgreens with no problem, but this store has given me more headaches than I can count. First of all, when you call, it's impossible to get someone on the line. I've waited for over 30 minutes sometimes, and I know there's not that many people waiting to call in. When I do talk with peopleWhen I did finally get to talk with someone, I explained that I was trying to transfer my prescriptions over for New Orleans, and they were really rude and unhelpful. Wish there was a zero star option. I never use this location for prescriptions but I needed a pharmacy Saturday night around 10pm after I brought my daughter to an urgent care. The doctor asked if I would prefer this location or the one on Coursey/Sherwood since (according to him) they were both 24 hour pharmacies. I chose Essen. We left urgent care and 10 minutes later we arrived at this Walgreens. We walked straight back to the pharmacy and it was closed. I walked back to the front of the store and told a cashier that we had just left an urgent care and that the clinic had electronically sent a prescription here. She didn't let me finish my sentence when she rudely stated "the sign on our front door says our pharmacy closed at 6pm". I said "ok I just left urgent care and the doc sent prescriptions here so" *she cuts me off again* "the sign on our front door says our pharmacy closes at 6pm". I wasn't arguing the fact that the pharmacy was closed since I do have two eyes. Even my 12yo daughter was shocked at how nasty rude this employee treated us. I had nothing but a great experience here. Believe it or not, I even got greeted upon entering. Of course, people don't expect the best customer service at these convenience stores, but is it me or is it getting just a bit better? So, I came in here the other day (in a hurry, otherwise I'd go elsewhere), on a mission for a pack of greeting cards. I was thrilled to find a box of assorted birthday cards and even better, they were 2 for $3. That was a deal I definitely did not want to pass up. You bet I bought 2. They are similar to a box of holiday greeting cards. Whomever created this had people like me in mind. My family and I attend a bunch of birthday parties a year and I am not that type of person that likes to spend $4 on one greeting card + I don't always remember to get greeting cards, when I need them. These were absolutely perfect! Even the sweet lady, who rang me up at the register was impressed and thought they were a great a idea and priced well. Anyway, I was in and out of the store pretty quick and the customer service I received was stellar! This is across the street from the OLOL Hospital. My experience was completely different from the others. Perhaps it may change, if I ever need to get prescriptions filled here. read more

When I went into the store I walked in on a cashier complaining loudly about a nurse , you know the frontline essential worker, on her phone and she went on about it for a few minutes. Then as I got to The check let's just say if you wear " I hate my job" on your face she was going all out. She was rude and dismissive. I went into this Walgreens with pre-ordered pictures from the Internet and they would not honor the coupon code that the Walgreens app said I would get for Black Friday. I politely told the manager that I can resubmit the order and he could just reprint the label receipt with the coupon code applied and we could keep the original pictures instead he made me reprint all 113 pictures to get the new coupon code after the pictures printed another manager walked over and said I'm sorry sir we shouldn't have printed all the pictures again should've just printed the label and that's exactly what I told the guy before he did it. They LOST the PRESCRIPTION!!!!! AVOID this Walgreens at all costs! I have given them several chances to redeem themselves but yesterday was the limit! Here's a list of a few of the problems that I've encountered in the THREE times I've used this location: 1) They expected me to do their job! A month ago I took a prescription to them for a refill. It required them to transfer the Rx from the pharmacy of another national chain. An hour after I dropped the Rx off, they called ME to get ME to LOOK UP THE OTHER PHARMACY'S PHONE NUMBER! When I explained that I would have to hang up, look up the number on my phone, and call them back, it was perfectly fine with them! They refused to look up the number!!!; 2) They are incapable of calling the doctor's office that is printed on the top of the Prescription pad when they do not recognize the doctor's signature at the bottom! So instead of picking up my filled Rx at the time they told me it would be ready, I got there on time and THEN they told me that they could not read the signature! I HAD TO TELL THEM TO LOOK AT THE TOP OF THE Rx for the phone number to call and ask. I then had to WAIT another hour for my Rx. At the very least they could have CALLED ME to tell me that they were having a problem (their incompetence!) and I could have dealt with it and not had to waste hours; 3) Whenever I use the drive-through, inevitably the person handling traffic at the drive-thru is on the phone. They do not look up, do not greet you to let you know they actually realize that you are there, AND they do not even put the phone down when they "help" you! It is no wonder that the next problem (and final straw) happened; 4) Yesterday I dropped off a prescription bottle with them for transfer and refill. I also left specific instructions with the "helpful" person at the drive-thru window (refer to description above): the Rx must be pre-authorized with my new doctor because my insurance has changed. She kept the phone at her ear and looked at me like a deer in headlights so I asked her "did you understand what has to be done with this prescription?" she replied, "uh-huh, 2 1/2 hours." 2 1/2 hours later I went to pick up my prescription. It had VANISHED!!! No record of the prescription being entered into the computer system, the bottle was gone, and the pre-authorization was not done! THEY LOST MY PRESCRIPTION! Loss of that particular Rx does not cause a huge problem. HOWEVER, if they lose a Schedule 2 Prescription it will cause SERIOUS problems including the requirement that it be reported to the DEA! That kind of irresponsibility at a pharmacy can lead to life-threatening problems like the wrong medication being dispensed or the wrong dosage being given! People have died when pharmacies made those mistakes! My advice to you is to avoid this Walgreens! P.S. I will follow this review by copying it to Walgreens Corporate Office! read more

Worst pharmacy in Louisiana, hands down. Go elsewhere! This place is next to a regional hospital (Our Lady of the Lake) and Walgreens has a terrible business model for handling the resulting volume. If you do not heed this advice, expect a 30-60 minute wait for the prescription you can stare at on the shelf but can't quite reach. Employee turnover tells the tale, never the same faces at this pharmacy. They desperately need competition which would close them in weeks not months. read more

Worst establishment ever. There is absolutely no customer service. I have been there at least 10 times, every time it's a frustrating situation. Checking out at the front can take at least 20 minutes. Management can see a long line, will walk past the line but act ignorant and ignore the situation. Why can't you open up a register instead of walking around dumbfounded?? The pharmacy is a joke, you will approach the counter and stand there for 15 minutes before getting acknowledged with a "hello". But still not helped. The lead acts like he is helping, he paces back and forth really quickly never addressing problems or solving them. Will tell the customer, "she'll help you". Really you are management and you can't help the employees solve problems.??? The staff is overwhelmed, the establishment needs more people hired for the amount of business that is handled here. The staff are short and abrupt with the customers because they don't have support. Today I thought I'd get "customer service" by calling in the refill. But I was on phone for over an hour, and no employee picked up the phone. The answering service kept coming on the line "all representatives are busy, you are the next in line". Really...... This place doesn't even deserve a 1 star. PEOPLE DO NOT COME TO THIS LOCATION BECAUSE OF CONVENIENCE OF ITS LOCATION NEXT TO THE LAKE. STAY AWAY.
