Between the service and the interaction with the staff, I was not impressed. This is a pretty well talked salon in Baton Rouge, so I expected alot more. I made an appointment online, and it was for gel nails. I wanted both my fingers and toes to be gel. The salon is beautiful! It is in a great location too, but the staff is not friendly or welcoming. When I got there for my appointment, there was no one at the door and I had to find a staff member to tell them I was there to check in. After they checked me in , they took me to a chair to start my pedicure. They then asked me what color I wanted... I didn't pick this out, they brought colors to me. Which was ok, but this is normally done before you sit down. After I picked my color, I was then told that they don't do gel on the toes. It was fine and I guess not that big of a deal. After my toes were done, I sat and got my nails done. I wanted a French tip with pink instead of white. They could have been better, and I feel my nail specialist was rushing. Firstly the good, it's a beautiful women's only salon. The vibe is immaculate: beautifully decorated and comfortable. Chocolate and drinks provided. If you like your nails on the shorter side, I'd definitely recommend. If however, like me, you like your nails long, I think I'd hesitate to go. So to my experience...I scheduled via their website and picked their deluxe versions for both my pedicure and manicure. I mentioned this to the receptionist and my pedicurist. That information was not conveyed to my manicurist, so when I brought it up when it appeared my manicure was nearly done, I received a truncated version. As to my nails, I prefer my nails long. They're unusually strong and not prone to breakage ( I break maybe 2 a year) I agreed to a small shortening. They were so rough in the clipping, and removal of my previous nail color, that not only did I leave with nails much shorter than I normally prefer, which I could deal with, a week later and 3 have already broken. 2 others are already chipped. I don't think it was worth the $150+ I paid, my nails are basically trashed. Like I said before, I think if you enjoy your nails on the shorter side, this would be an excellent salon ... although you might only schedule 1 service at a time to insure you get what you've scheduled. read more

It has a great atmosphere but weirdly quiet in the pedicure area. There isn't any background music and no one was having conversations, except for the lady talking on her phone . Quiet is good though if you want to read a book while having your nails done. Very efficient and nice job on my nails. Easy to get an appointment online as well. I went here needing a mani and pedi. But after getting a pedi, I was completely done. Paid and left. My water was cold from the start, but my tech didn't speak any english. So everything I said, she had to call someone else over. And even then, there was a language barrier. She started cutting without asking if I wanted them shorter. Used the a nail file on top to remove the extra polish. Which hurt. Used a filing block aggressively on my nails but it was also on my skin which hurt! massaged my legs like she was trying to break them and scrubbed the bottom of my feet way too harsh. I have never been so frustrated with a service in my entire life. It's a beautiful place, and that will get you in the door, but that's about it. read more

The decor here is stunning. Staff was very nice and did a great job. But I am totally freaking out that they don't use liners in their foot basins. I mean, what???? Zaza is one of my favorite Baton Rouge finds! I sometimes wish they offered dip powder, but can appreciate that by limiting services and designs, they're able to ensure more consistent appointment times and reduce reservations having to wait before their booking. Whenever my mom, mother in law, or other friends and family come to town, this is where I bring them. They always seat us together (easier if you book for multiple people than doing separate reservations, so keep that in mind), and my nails last longer than when I go DIY. If ambiance is what you're looking for, this is it. If you want a longer pedicure that will get callouses or rough skin off, don't expect the classic pedicure to be sufficient. You'll have to upgrade to the deluxe. I go back and forth on how much I do or don't like that they don't service men. Especially in today's world, I think gender specific segregation is a precarious position to take, it's also discriminatory to not service customers or even hire based on gender--and they notably don't have male staff. read more

I had booked a nail appointment for my two young daughters and myself for Saturday morning. It was supposed to be a rare treat for them but after paying $200 and receiving half the service of other nail salons, I must say that I am never going back. When we arrived, we were asked to pick our pedicure colors and go and sit on the chairs. The water for my foot bath was cold when I put my feet in and I told the nail technician that. She just started the hot tap for a little bit but continued to do my feet in the cold water. My 5 year old sat for 15 minutes in a corner without anyone attending to her and finally someone came after I asked repeatedly. My technician was pleasant but didn't speak much except asking me their ages and said, " Only two girls? No boys?" Looked a little disappointed when I said "no." She was rushed while doing the cuticles and one of my big toes has swelling and pain in the nail bed today. Then the owner came around with no smile, smacking gum, and asked, "what do you want to drink?". I had no idea what they had to offer and she didn't seem too welcoming so I declined. I did see the owner being very friendly later with a few of the other clients (probably long time customers) and offering them champagne. They moved my girls to get their manicure done while they were finishing my pedicure and after they were done they were just ignored and not offered anything. During this time, my little one's toe nail polish came off and since I wasn't seated next to them, and no one was paying any attention to them, she was too shy to tell them that. Then they took forever to understand what I wanted for my manicure (nothing complicated), it felt like they were rushed and I was inconveniencing them. Finally she did my nails and it was different from what I wanted and since she didn't speak much English, it was futile to explain to her. For the almost $45 manicure for me, I got a hurried hand massage after the nails were done and that too after I asked. I did see them providing additional services to other manicure customers but there was just no point asking about that. (See the picture below for my '2 week' shellac job taken the day after.) And at this point I was just ready to get done and leave. I collected my girls who thought they were going to get pampered, but were left ignored. There were no "byes" or "come again", we just paid and left. All of this was so mistimed and impersonal that it totally ruined the experience and the expectations I had for spending some quality time with my girls. For half the price I could have gone to another salon and had a better experience. It's a beautiful salon with lovely decorations but to me it felt like an assembly line in a factory. Definitely not a boutique experience I thought we'll get at that price point. (They agreed to fix my little girl's polish when I called them back after she told me in the car but they are closed on Sunday and Monday and I really don't have the heart to go and get treated the same way again. I will just remove the $30 'petit pedicure' and repaint at home.) read more

At the recommendation of a colleague, I visited Zaza for a shellac manicure. I was pleased with the service received. It was raining and parking was a little challenging to find. There is a parking lot behind the salon, but there are limited spots available. I called ahead to make an appointment, but was told there was no wait and decided to head over at that time. I arrived and was greeted with a smile and asked to select my color and offered a complimentary beverage. The tech immediately begin my service. The salon is beautiful, clean and comfy. All of the decor is nice and makes you feel great. She did a great job on my manicure and didn't rush. I loved walking in and getting served right away in a nice atmosphere. There was nice fragrance throughout the salon and didn't smell like strong nail chemicals. They are at the higher end of the scale for gel manicures -- $35, but professionalism, convenience and great service make it worth it! read more

This is my first time ever leaving a review but i felt it was worth it to speak up. I went to Zaza and got a mani/pedi. The pedicure was wonderful 10/10. The manicure, however, was not. My tech didn't ask how I wanted my nails filed, clipped them after I requested them not to be, made my cuticles bleed in four different places, and on top of everything the polish was inconsistent. It felt so rushed. Additionally, the conversation only went as far as her asking if I used hand sanitizer a lot because my hands looked dry, and then she asked if I'd gotten covid yet. ??? It was not just my nail tech, though. I went with a friend and she also went home with multiple cuts and inconsistent opacity of her nails. read more

I came here once before and was shocked by the high prices (about $10 higher per service than I'm used to paying at a salon), but it was a birthday treat, and everyone was very nice- plus my nails stayed longer than any other mani/pedi I've had before. Unfortunately, my friend I was with had her shellac manicure chip after only a few days. I decided to come back for a pedicure 2 months later, because I'm nine months pregnant and can't reach my toes anymore. I made a reservation, but was told when I arrived that it would be a 15 minute wait. They informed me that the reservation didn't mean much, and I could go wait in my car (it's 90 degrees outside and I'm nine months pregnant), but I was dropped off without a car, and people were already sitting in the chair they set up outside. I sat on the ground, and not 15, but 25 minutes later they were ready for me. No one talked to me, said hello, how are you, etc. the person doing my pedicure swapped out with someone else in the middle without saying anything either. She also was wearing her mask on her chin and only moved it up over her mouth after it stared at her (still never made it over her nose). They take reservations and I'm seated as soon I walk in on time. Super polite service! Only downside is my foot Calais is not usually taken care of, however that is a personal issue. This is a really cute nail salon with really friendly staff and cozy, shabby chic southern decor. I walked-in on an early Thursday afternoon with no issues with parking or service and had a really pleasant experience with my pedi and shellac mani. The technician noted that Wednesday and Thursday tend to be the better days to come (Tuesdays and Fridaysare crazy). This is on the pricier end but it's worth it for the service and ambiance! I've been hesitant to get a pedicure for the past few months and have been doing them at home myself. Unfortunately, my nail maintenance and painting skills are sub par. My hesitance to visit new nail shops was due to a pretty bad experience I had with a nail shop I went to a while ago. I can't remember the name but it's on Perkins and Acadian. My best friend Holly kept mentioning this place to me. I've been putting it off, but finding decided to make the visit. The parking was a bit tricky as I have to park under the overpass. As I walked in, my first impression was OMG!!! I've been in so many salons and this is AS PRETTY AS IT GETS! This place is beautiful! From the art decor to the candle/gift display shelf to the fancy lamps. And did I mention NO SMELL?! You do not feel like you are in salon in Baton Rouge, but one in Beverly Hills where the celebrities get their nails done. I was seated quickly even though I walked in. Prices were fair for the services. I saw them disinfect and clean each pedicure foot bath bowl immediately after a client left. The water that they used was clean, clear, and sparkly. Also, the petite woman(I'm so bad with names) who did my pedicure did an absolutely amazing job. She definitely took her time. I wish I could remember her name as I would use her again. They have comfortable, soft, ivory chairs that will put you to sleep if close your eyes. They also have a huge gel selection. On top of that of a great visit, I was able to save $15 by using the discount card that Holly gave me. I found out that ZaZa was giving when they first opened. I'm not sure to if they still offer it, but it wouldn't hurt to ask. I would recommend and will definitely repeat :) read more

Zaza is beautiful when you walk in, the atmosphere is nice, they offer you a beverage and everyone is very friendly but unfortunately I had a very bad experience. My mother and I both went in together to get manicures because we'd received gift certificates and both of us walked out unhappy. Our nails looked beautiful but they cut my cuticles too short and I left bleeding out of 2 fingers. I've been clipped before but never on more than one finger and usually one cut is enough to lose my business. They also cut my mother's cuticles too short after she asked the girl to be careful and not cut them too short. She had to stop the girl at one point because she was hurting my mother. I've recently been informed that I have soft cuticles which no one has ever told me and I feel that if you're a professional then you need to recognize that people's hands and nails are different. Unfortunately I won't be going back ever again. I'm updating this post 3 days after my appointment because I've already had several hangnails because my cuticles were cut waaaay too short and last night while I was making dinner another one of my cuticles on a completely different finger started bleeding again. My mother is experiencing dry cuticles and hangnails as well. I'm getting married is less than 3 weeks and I'm hoping my hands won't still be mauled read more

My happy place! Been going to ZaZa for years! The nail spa is absolutely gorgeous! So relaxing and so catered to taking great care of their clients. Between the Godiva chocolates the tea or champagne it's absolutely wonderful. They aim to please every time! The staff is wonderful the owner and manager are always there if you have an issue and take care of it right away. This is my go to place for gift certificates their gift boxes are gorgeous with a big beautiful bow. My sister & I received gift certificate for 2 classic pedicures. The first woman that we encountered at the front desk was very sweet & professional. Both of our nail technicians were very nice, mine was a little rough at times but she did a great job with the polish. I was a little bummed that they did not offer gel polish on the toes. I will say even though our services were "free" for $43 I expect more from even a classic pedicure. The issue that I had was with the young lady that checked us out, firstly...she grabbed my ticket when I was drying my toes & then put her hand out for my card. I then called for my sister to give her the coupon...she did not make eye contact & we still ended up owing $10 (this was totally fine) she was very cold & rude. She was on her phone & as my sister was signing the receipt she made the comment "the total cost of your services was $83..." as if to say "think about that when you leave a tip..." not looking at us or acknowledging us. The aesthetics are very nice but the vibe is very off-putting, when I go to the nail shop I am looking for a very relaxing experience but they bring other women to sit in front of you & wait for the next open seat & it's a little cluttered. Not impressed. Only friendly person was the one outside checking temps. The $18 eyebrow wax (!) was a 2 minute wax on, rip off. No trimming or checking. Pedicurist would not respond to me when I asked a question...barely a murmur. And they don't even have massaging chairs. Pedicure was very average for the price.
