TOO MANY PANHANDLERS BY THE ENTRANCE This is one of my go to pharmacies even for day-to-day items that I may not find at my neighborhood grocery or don't want to go to a Walmart type establishment to get. It went through a stretch with some employee choices that left me scratching my head but lately they've all be too notch - friendly and helpful. Here's what they need to work on. It's only one thing. Do something about the number of bums and panhandlers that hang out by the front door to get you coming and going. It's ridiculous. Almost expect to have an interaction with one, two, maybe three of them on every visit. Why do they think a pharmacy is a good place to panhandle? People are already sick and going there for a reason. Catch them at Starbucks instead. AND, it's not just a simple 'can you spare a dime' bums, it's they 'hey, can I ask you a question' bums. Just ask me for money, don't passive-aggressively try to act deep on me. You're a bum, not Plato. Last night I'd made it all the way to my vehicle as the panhandler was occupied on something else. I thought I'd made it. Pushed the unlock button on my keychain then quick footsteps running behind me followed by, 'Excuse me, Sir. Can I speak to you briefly about something important?' CRINGE! No but if you need money, here's a few bucks. Do something about it, Walgreens. It's getting to be out of hand and making the whole location seem shady which it isn't! read more

This pharmacy is always accommodating at looking up insurance vs Good Rx prices. They are usually pretty quick to have Rxs ready and will go the extra mile to find an Rx for you if they do not have it in stock. Brenda was especially helpful yesterday when I was dealing with a sick kid and a time sensitive Rx on Christmas Eve. The store is always clean and well stocked. Staff is friendly and helpful. read more

Last night, after breaking my arm, I got in the drive thru for the pharmacy, as did at least half a dozen other cats. We all sat there patiently waiting out turn. Then all of a sudden, the line started moving quickly. I was like woo hoo! Until I got up there and I was appalled to see that they had just closed up shop at 7:00 pm, no matter how many people were in line to get their medicine. read more

I've never seen a more incompetent group.. they are unbelievably slow and cannot do the most basic tasks like taking my written prescription from me and filling them later.. took me 25 min just to drop off a prescription. read more

The pharmacy has lost my prescription 6 times recently. Whether I call it in or scan it in. Another time, my husband's prescription had my name on it. I'm switching to a more competent pharmacy! read more

Well, there was a storm coming through and we needed to get some supplies. Walmart was closing up early, so we had to see what other options were available. Luckily, Walgreens was still opening - though closing soon. I am amazed at all the various items that I was able to get while at Walgreens. I really needed a number of food items and they had plenty. And most of the items that I purchased were on sale, even. It was crowded as other folks were also doing some last minute shopping, as well, but I doubt it is like that on a regular basis. Ended up being a good shopping experience. read more

"Convenience and drug store". Yes, convenience means higher prices, customer service that is pretty hit or miss and fairly well-stocked shelves. Being all-too-familiar with how these type of convenience stores work, I came in here only needing a couple things. Don't have the time to deal with roaming a large store or standing in long lines, then yes come here for some of your simple needs, but not to shop for your entire household. Each time I enter this store, I usually spend no more than 10-15 mins there because I usually need to be in and out quickly. Most of the time, they have what I am looking for, will find it on sale and won't have to stand in line to purchase it, which is a win for me. Customer service is also something I find mediocre - they are happy to greet you at the door, but when it comes to ringing up items that is when some of their true colors come out. Some have been snappy here, especially the one I encountered today. The funny part was, she asked me to take a survey at the conclusion of my purchase. Anyway, I think Walgreens is a great store, I only visit it when I am in dire need of picking something up quickly. read more

The drive thru pharmacy is a freaking joke. I've waited 55 minutes to pick up a prescription. They need to keep it moving but it appears they allow people to sit and wait for their prescription instead of using the drive thru as a drop-off and pick-up line. Today, been online for 38 min so far. Gotta switch b/c this is insanity! read more

I can't give them higher than three because I think the pharmacy is very dysfunctional. Nothing of mine is ever ready on time and sometimes they don't even notify me that they won't fill my prescription. Seriously?! The drive thru takes forever as well. I mean, FOREVER! The photo department has lost some of my orders as well and their print it yourself machines take forever and don't always work. But, the people behind the photo counter are always super nice and helpful. When they lost one of my orders, it was given to me for free. The rest of the employees are nice as well. Make sure you get their balance rewards card because you will end up racking up enough points and getting a discount eventually. read more

TREATED WITH RACIST JIM CROW TACTICS WHEN REFUSED SERVICE DUE TO RACIAL PROFILING: It was Christmas day in Baton Rouge when I was visiting family. Of course, we forgot a number of items for the upcoming festivities, and after a seemingly endless carousel of closed grocery stores, my sister and I lowered our expectations and headed to Walgreens. I should mention here that my sister and I are black and Cuban. We entered this Walgreens in search for some last minute amenities. That is when a yell from the cashier station threw me for a loop. "Y'all can't shop here with those big purses," the Caucasian cashier hollered. I looked down at my arm where the handbag I've taken into every store from CVS to Saks Fifth Avenue rested. "This bag?" I thought. "Well," I asked, "Is there a purse or bag check where we can leave our bags as we continue to shop." She replied, "Huh, we don't have that." And again, "Y'all can't shop here." So, I asked her, "Do you treat all customers like this, or just brown people?" Outdone, the cashier huffed and grumbled under her breath, but had no response. Expected home, my sister led the way out of the door. I felt assaulted, my right to shop at a store violated. After posting about this on twitter and Facebook, I was finally contacted by the corporation via twitter. With perfunctory responses they promised to look into the issue, gave me a case number, and committed to call me in 2 business days - as if i'd left my wallet in the restroom or had trouble making a return. I finally received a brief call from the store manager on Dec. 28. He apologized for the incident, mentioned that THERE WAS NO BAG POLICY, how Walgreens strives for customer service, and promised to handle it internally. He didn't appear, however, to understand the magnitude of the situation, neither would he admit that what happened to us was a form of racial profiling and discrimination. They treated the situation as if it were solely a matter of inconvenience and customer service - not a matter of injustice. Please consider another pharmacy when picking up last minute items or anything else for that matter...particularly if you are diverse and expect equal treatment. read more

This place is the worst pharmacy I've ever been to. I was basically harassed by a pharmacy tech who had already blown off another customer in two sentences before me in line. I waited two hours on the phone today on hold to try to speak to a pharmacist to confirm the prescriptions were there. So finally I just came in to get them in hopes both were there. One wasn't and she couldn't tell me where it was and kept telling me to call the physicians office. The physicians offices tell you to call the pharmacy and let them know what is needed and they take care of calling the physicians office. This woman was not listening to a word I said kept cutting me off, and when I finally said you know I hope you're in a similar situation to me one day in from out of town to take care of an elderly parent and she just started berating me pulled down her mask shaking a finger at me and withholding the medication that I had just paid for. The pharmacist himself had to come over and give me the medication and apologized for her behavior. I called the manager of the store who also apologized and said he would take care of it. I felt bad for the pharmacist if that is all they have to work with. We will not be going back to Walgreens. read more

I had to get a prescription transferred and filled tonight 40 minutes before they closed. The pharmacy staff went above and beyond to make sure I got it! They were all very nice and diligent even though they were very busy with other customers. read more
