Kudos to the cashiers for trying to help everyone as quickly as possible; there were two regular cashiers working and then they also opened up the photo area for additional service. This Walgreens has your essentials: from beauty to first aid to snacks and more. It's first aid that brought my group in here (friend had a fall) but I ended up up leaving with snacks for our house. Worst pharmacy I have ever been to! Total mess every time I've been in there. They have messed up prescriptions on three different occasions making me have to recontact doctor to sort it out. They will not honor GoodRx prices even though they are advertised as an eligible pharmacy and they change the amount of medication you get to what they think you should get regardless of what the prescribing doctor puts. They hang up on you when you try to call and sort it out and provide no information to contact the manager. Stay away from this place at all costs the cvs across the street is much better. What an absolutely terrible experience. I went to purchase Sudafed fir my grand daughter. It must be purchased at the pharmacy. I understood that. The pharmacy is supposed to open at 10 am. A line of older people waiting. While you could hear people behind the roll up door, they did not open till 1020. No apology. And then one guy checking on people and managing the dive thru (2 for sure, I believe 3 other employees wandering around back there. Suppose a pharmacist was one and was busy. The automated phone service told me my prescription was ready but I wanted to talk to someone in the pharmacy to be sure. When the pharmacist picked up he rudely interrupted me when I was explaining why I was calling and then told me, "We just opened 10 minutes ago, I don't know why your prescription would be ready. They always say there under staffed and use it for an excuse to be rude and curt to everyone including the elderly. on 04/26/24 around 9:00 am my wife whom is elderly and termly ill called her doctors office because the medication she received from Walgreens had an active ingredient that she is allergic to. the doctors assistant advised her to call the pharmacist and see what he suggest she take instead. My wife called the Pharmacy and was told it did not have the ingredient she was concerned about. She told him it did after going back and fourth he found where it did. He then told her she could not return it. she was trying to tell him she was not wanting to return it. She was wanting to know what would work for her. he kept cutting her off and was being totally rude. she asked him if he would speak with me, her husband. Getting there: Right before turning on Moonridge you'll find this store on the corner. You can't miss it as you have to pass it before turning onto the main road to Bear/Summit. There is plenty of parking and I've never seen this location packed to where there is no parking. Experience: This Walgreens is always so clutch for us because we always either stop here to grab a case of drinks or anything we may have forgotten on the way up to the mountain and they almost always have it. The first ridiculous thing is the pharmacist actually says that I can take the medication twice a day, every eight hours which is actually three times a day. The second one is my fiancé quizzed a pharmacist on whether one should eat when taking the steroid prescribed, which you were supposed to, and the pharmacist did not know that. Below is the review I left for CVS and why I ended up calling Walgreens instead. CVS is my primary pharmacy but this location definitely let me down. Waited 15 mins on the phone for pharmacy Customer Service just to be told they will not disclose whether or not they have ADHD medicine in stock. In all fairness, this is something I've had to deal with at other pharmacies occasionally but the biggest issue with this location is their refusal to fill a prescription for 3 pills. I am well aware and understand ADHD meds are a controlled substance and typically are not be distributed more than 30 days at a time. But life happens and sometimes you are away from home without your meds and need an emergency prescription for literally 3 pills. This is the one and only pharmacy who has refused to fill an emergency prescription (which remind you, they also refused to verify if they even had the pills in stock, which would require me to call the doctor back to resend yet another prescription to another pharmacy had CVS not had it in stock). ADHD is a mental disorder that should be treated just like another other health condition and when someone needs LITERALLY 3 pills to get through the weekend without the physical and mental breakdown of being without their medicine, a pharmacy should never refuse to fill that need when a doctor trusts their patients enough to write an extra prescription. I called Walgreens immediately after. Their pharmacy answered the phone within 2 rings, let me know they had 3 pills available and had no issue allowing me to fill an emergency prescription. Save yourself some time and aggravation and just call Walgreens first. read more

DO NOT try to fill a prescription here if your prescription is from down the hill, even if you use Walgreens as your primary pharmacy (well not my primary after this experience). The pharmacist will embarrass you, talk about PRIVATE HIPAA information out-loud so others can hear, and generally just treat you rudely and unprofessionally. I am from Rancho Cucamonga, but I own a home in Big Bear Lake also. I went in to fill my prescription, and everything was fine until the pharmacist came over. She looked at me very oddly, and asked the girl helping me, "Why are you filling a prescription from Rancho Cucamonga? This is weird." Basically making me feel like they didn't trust me, or that the prescription was not legitimate. Of course the suspicious and condescending pharmacist called to verify the prescription (which could have been done without embarrassing me), and the prescription was filled. Just a suggestion, if you doubt a prescription, there are ways to verify it without loudly speaking about the customers medications, and making them feel uncomfortable. read more

Well let's just start with the words perfunctory which is a fair compliment considering and leave it at that. Because sometimes you need to consider the business type. It's a pharmacy, not a restaurant or hotel... nothing you would visit on vacation. They're Pharmacists, not servers. Let's face it who wants to go to a pharmacy? When do you ever say, "So I'm going to Big Bear and I'm so excited, I get to go to the Walgreens pharmacy... yaaayyyy! Isn't the true test of the pharmacy when you figure out whether the prescription worked? That could take weeks. Bottom line I needed a prescription refilled from another pharmacy and they took care of it. They weren't overly friendly and the Tech was sick... likely caught something from a customer. Only in commercials will you see the Pharmacist sitting next to the patient, head slightly tilted with that concerned yet caring look on their face. Or better yet reaching down to smile at a sweet little child and gently touching their shoulder to show they care. Heres the real image; a rotten sick little snot factory sneezing and touching everything in sight... while the parent is playing candy crush on their phone. My prescription was well prepared, the presentation of the white paper bag and the 14 pages of instructions, 57 side effects and legal EZ (that we never read) staples to it was lovely. Other than that, Walgreens was pretty clean and organized and I picked up my wife a $5 pair of slippers while I waited. Our anniversary is just around the corner.
