I switched to Vons Pharmacy in Yucca Valley after issues with Walgreens overcharging me for medications and not using my insurance, but this place has been just as frustrating. The pharmacist has had a rude tone several times and even insinuated I was lying about picking up a medication last Monday, which I did (I have the medication and the receipt). After showing up today and being told my medication was not ready as promised and to wait, I got a text saying it was ready, but the price was $214 and my insurance wasn't applied. When I went in, I was asked to produce my insurance card. The pharmacist insisted I hadn't picked up a medication with insurance last Monday, which I did. When I asked why my insurance wasn't applied, which was correctly in their system, she said it was "written down as cash and to inquire with me." She decided not to check the system right in front of her, which is a huge part of her job. Why would you not apply my insurance? You are a pharmacy!! ‍ Picking up medications should not be this difficult. read more

I am appalled at the way the women acted towards me and she greatly impacted my ability to get my pain medication. She acted like I was a drug addicted and then made up some rules as to why she couldn't fill it. She was very rude in the beginning when I was trying to transfer it from desert hot springs because I was in yucca valley going out of town and my dr sent it to the wrong pharmacy. She tried lying and claiming she couldn't get a hold of someone at my drs office all while I was physically on the phone with my drs nurse. I ended up having the prescription sent to Walgreens and will never ever use this pharmacy!! Shame on you lady! read more

I have never dealt with a pharmacy as disorganized, inconsistent, and dismissive as this Vons location. They put me through weeks of completely unnecessary hoops just to fill a straightforward stimulant prescription--hoops my own doctor explicitly called "unnecessary." First, they refused to fill my medication because my doctor was telehealth, insisting I needed to see someone "in person" locally--even though no doctor in town accepts PPO insurance. I eventually gave up trying to get the medication. Two weeks later, I received a random call saying they actually could fill it--but my doctor had to resend all the paperwork. She did so immediately, yet I still had to follow up at every single step because the staff didn't seem to communicate with one another. Even worse, after reviewing my doctor's notes, I learned that the real reason they initially refused to fill my prescription was because my ID listed an address outside the community. Despite telling them multiple times that I am a local resident, they dismissed what I said and only agreed to proceed once my doctor submitted proof of my residence--information I had already provided myself. Throughout this entire experience, Zarina, the pharmacy manager, was consistently rude, dismissive, and made me feel humiliated at every step. Her lack of empathy and unwillingness to offer clear information or problem-solve made an already stressful situation significantly worse. The contradictory explanations, lack of transparency, poor communication, and unprofessional treatment created completely unnecessary barriers to accessing essential medication. I strongly recommend going to literally any other pharmacy if you value your time, your health, or being treated with basic respect. read more

There's signage all over the store and pharmacy stating - "Walk ins accepted for flu shots". Heck it's even on the Vons pharmacy website and local store site. However after waiting in line to ask about a flu shot I was informed by staff that shots are by appointment only - they will not take anyone without an appointment when there's only one pharmacist working. That one pharmacist can see you however if you have an appointment. So PSA make sure you make an appointment for a flu shot! Totally unacceptable waste of time. read more

Difficult if not near impossible to get someone to answer phone. Hard to ck to see if RX is ready for pick up even on day when it is scheduled for pick up. This usually requires minimum of 2 or 3 trips to Yucca Valley to get RX. They hold the script for several days before ordering (why is that?). They have no consideration for the patient who is too sick to drive a long distance 2 or 3 days in a row. This means the patient goes without meds their Dr. says they should be taking, all because of the pharmacy's disgraceful customer service! Sorry, can't recommend this place. read more

I just waited 40 minutes at the pharmacy. There were two people in front of me and both took a very long time. Everybody should have all the time they need but there's got to be something in place for the rest of the customers. My complaint is there was more than one person in the pharmacy who could have helped but didn't. I do not like this pharmacy because incidents like this are regular occurrences. For example: I needed to refill a prescription but could not get anyone on the phone. Never mind, I could not leave a message but even when I eventually was able (2+weeks), no one called back. Six phone calls and no response. This went on for a few prescriptions over more than four months. Good thing it was not an emergency! Von's has been my emergency pharmacy for me when I've been in the area. The pharmacy staff is mostly nice but they shouldn't have to put up with this, either. Walgreens and Rite Aid are here, too. Time to check them out. If I could give -13 1/2 stars, I would. read more

Terrible customer service, no one answers phone after 7 hrs. leave msg, no return call. Next day, still no ans., I finally drive to Yucca because it is the day my meds are due to be picked up. and ohhh, now they need to order it! Really? I live waaayyy out of town, $35. for gas in the truck every time I have to go back to Yucca. Okay, two and sometimes three trips for a RX, now I'm up to $70 plus the co-pay. They are really disorganized. No customer service. I had a friend pick up a prescription because I wasn't feeling well. The nurse practitioner who I'm stuck with prescribed it without checking if my insurance covered it, the pharmacy filled it without asking me and my friend paid for it and the pharmacy took his money that I have to pay back. I just have had prescriptions sent to other pharmacies and they sent them back to the drs to replace them. read more
