Well, I'm about to bump this Walgreens star rating up a notch. I love it! It is super easy to get to off Adams Rd. Huge parking lot too. I came to pick up a prescription, and it couldn't have been easier. No wait! Just had to provide my address and phone number. I was here the day after Christmas around 11 o'clock and nobody was in here. I was hoping to find some 50% off Christmas goodies, but failed. I did buy two small packs of Walkers shortbread stars, so it wasn't a total bummer of a visit. read more

Dee Dee is amazing! She did everything from front desk, beauty expert counter, and helping with a passport picture service all while making sure no customer waited in line too long. Doing my vaccinations here because they do on Sundays (and 7 days a week). The staff i dealt with were all very friendly and helpful. I was more worried about the needle which i didn't even feel so i worried for nothing. Chris gave me my shot and he was friendly and quick. I haven't used this Walgreens in a long time except pharmacy but i will use more they have a new staff it seems thats super friendly and the store is very clean. Lots of ho end makeup too. I'll be back for the 2nd dose soon. read more

They charged my insurance for a prescription without going thru good RX as requested and used express pay and told me they couldn't refund me anything because they already did the transaction! I've been unhappy with Walgreens pricing for awhile and am now moving my business to Kroger . They are nicer and more thoughtful and cheaper! read more

Pharmacy personnel at this location were unhelpful, incompetent, and discriminatory. I scheduled a vaccine booster appointment here on 11/19. The self-hating Black female receptionist took a very long time registering me before asking whether I had my insurance card. I only had my DL and vaccine card, so I went out to my car to get it. She then took another 15 minutes fiddling with the mouse and the pharmacy computer. Next, a coworker came over to help her, and they whisper in front of me while waving my insurance card back and forth. Finally I ask if there was an issue, and they said that they couldn't find my information in the system to bill the shot, and basically denied me a free booster shot. They told me I brought the wrong info, when the Walgreens website and appointment confirmation clearly states: "Please bring the following to your appointment: Your medical and/or pharmacy benefit insurance card or Medicare card (if applicable). A copy of your COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card. If you don't have it, a pharmacy team member can help you when you arrive." The second coworker became very dismissive and patronizing, so I asked to speak to someone else. An older woman who was administering the shots and who I assume was a manager came over and gave me the same spiel: that a medical card doesn't work at the pharmacy, and that I couldn't get a booster shot without a prescription benefits card." At this point, a long queue had built up in the pharmacy line, and it was incredibly demeaning to be a Black woman who was denied a free booster shot in a room full of white people (discounting the incompetent Black receptionist the other employees abandon at the register). I believe I was unfairly discriminated against, and that the 3 pharmacy employees I interacted with were not actually trying to help me at any point during my visit. What should have been a 30-40 minute visit before work turned into a 50 minute waste of my time. I will be filing formal complaints with Walgreens as well as the BBB to ensure these folks are held accountable, and will never visit this Walgreens again (it was better off as a Borders Bookstore). read more

I have never in my life been to a pharmacy that offers sushi. Now I know there's a first for everything.. Make a visit to this so-called Pharmacy. I loved it! It is really not describable! You will be blown away by the brightness, orderliness and the ability to purchase almost anything and yes, even sushi! What I really loved was the fact that they have the very most extensive make-up area in any drugstore that I have ever visited. It really resembles a Sephora and they even have a make-up professional on staff to make you up and give you product advice. The wine and beer selection is very extensive as well. I like the food section where you can pick up a great salad, sandwich or sushi in a hurry. I've never been to a pharmacy that is so unique! read more

I call this place "Fancy Walgreen's" and it is sensational. Firstly the physical store is gorgeous, the aisles are huge, the lighting is a dream, huge parking lot (used to be a bookstore). It makes purchasing the most mundane of drug store supplies seem downright luxurious! In addition to the traditional drugstore makeup/skin care brands they also have a cosmetics department that rivals that of an Ulta or Sephora. They have employees who work specifically in cosmetics and will answer questions and help you test out products. They have samples of everything in this department too! They have a ton of different high end-ish brands that I cannot get at other makeup stores. They also had an extensive selection of men's skincare/grooming products. Can't say enough good things, totally breaks the mold as far as drugstore makeup sections go. Aside from the awesome makeup department they also have a great wine selection in the back. Everyone here is so friendly you really can't compare it to any other Walgreen's, at least not ones I have been into. Even if this isn't in your normal route I would tell you to stop by some time just to check out the makeup department (if you are into that sort of thing). One note is that every time I have been here it was not busy at all, so apparently the secret is not out yet on it. read more

I LOVE this Walgreens!! It's so cool! They only have a couple with the same layout which is so awesome! I love the makeup selection they have here! You can get so many different products from your "normal" Walgreens! It is also so so clean which makes the overall shopping experience really great! This is my neighborhood Walgreens and I'm so happy that it's in a convenient location. The staff are helpful and the store is always organized/clean. I have yet to find the best sale prices but feel that they are competitive with their pricing. Definitely one of the best ones in the area! read more

The photo department at this Walgreens is terrible. I did an online order for a framed image. Walgreens provides next day photo services. I selected the 10am completion time for my order and it stated it was completed. I went to pick it up at 7:30am and they couldn't locate it, when they. finally found it the order had not been completed. I wait half an hour for them to complete my ONE frame. They decided to use my already late order as a time to teach another worker how to do it (Poor decision) . I patiently waited only to find that the completed the order incorrectly and now after waiting 30min they would need to take it apart and start over. considering it should have been ready by 10am and it wasn't, and then I waited an additional 30min I asked for the manager. She was already aware my order wasn't completed timely and offered no condolences. When she was made aware that after waiting it was incorrect she still offered no condolences and stated it probably wouldn't be ready the next day either because the photo girl was leaving soon. She was not apologetic at all, she actually didn't seem to care. The manager was Megan. I ended up leaving without my order because their customer service was terrible and I wasn't willing to wait longer. I will also be complaining to corporate. read more

What a fantastic experience! The staff is unbelievable (can you imagine being warmly greeted and offered assistance throughout a Walgreens?!?!?). Store layout and products offered both top notch and high end. Never in a million years did I expect to find the type of products I found there. Besides picking up a prescription ( and yes, a drive thru is offered) we were unable to pass up some mix and match craft/specialty beers, a few gourmet snack items, make-up and personal care choices that we never expected to see at a Walgreens. You could pick this store up, put it in a Somerset storefront, and it would mesh beautifully. Can't wait to go back! Actually a FUN place to shop. read more

This place is not your ordinary, drugstore chain location. A Walgreens like no other. There is a nice selection of mens shaving and grooming items other location and competitors do not have. For women, there are staffed, department store-style cosmetics counters and fragrance counters. There is a person at the door that greets you as you walk in. Floors, walls, shelving, displays- it is decorated like a trendy department store. They carry chichi snacks and a few cool craft beers. This is nothing like the standard Madison Heights or Westland Walgreens. Those of us who do not live in Birmingham are unlucky because even the mass retail stuff is better. read more

My friends and I call this the "Walgreens of the future". Its seriously amazing. They have the coolest selection of food including fruits, veggies, and salads. They also have a good beer/wine selection. And their beauty department is almost unbelievable. They have makeup you can usually only buy at places like Macy's. This has to be the most cutting-edge drug store in America. I love how clean and orderly it is and the way it is set up is amazing. Terrific cosmetic area! The pharmacy is knowledgeable and friendly. Helpful sales staff. Good card selection. Received a shot in a private room...you don't even get that in the hospital! All-in-all a great new addition to Birmingham and Walgreens in general. This is the most absurdly high-end Walgreens I've ever been to. They have not only have all the staple items most Walgreens have, they have an outstanding beer and wine selection and (while I'm not personally interested) a makeup section that revivals Clinique. It's spotlessly clean and the staff are very friendly. read more
