A few rough starts on a new prescription but once smoothed out it's been just fine. They do go above and beyond to help if something is needed right away. As for other aspects of the store, the staff is courteous and always helpful. They do so much more than just fill prescriptions. Did you know they will hold your Fed Ex shipment if you get a door tag and can't accomodate a re-delivery? Awesome. read more

Definitely recommend coming to Walgreens for vaccinations. Easy to reserve an appointment online and once you get to the store location, there's a QR code available for easy checkin. But since I completed the checkin process after making an appointment... I still had to accept terms again when I arrived at the store. That was the only inconvenience since I had to complete it twice. But the staff is awesome and the conveniency of getting our vaccinations within minutes was a great an experience. No pressure.. no lines.. no headache. Best part is that I can pickup our meds at the pharmacy before and after our vaccinations or anything else we need to purchase at Walgreens while we were there. read more

Ordered several items cold and flu related items for 1 hour delivery....since entire house highly contagious Influenza A. Order put in at 5:47pm. To a regular person, one hour delivery means 6:47pm, but in Walgreens time it means 8:00 pm. At 8:25 pm gave a call the number given for questions on theses orders and wait on hold for 39 minutes. No answer, just spinning on hold. While on this ridiculous hold time....A deathly sick human that hasn't been able to move for 3 days needs to get into a car and drive to the nearest pharmacy for medication that this Walgreens was to deliver hours prior and failed. While checking out at 9:04pm your call is answered and with Walgreens and is disconnected. NICE! Middle finger to the phone and back out of public and call again. You call them back at 9:08 pm...get a very nice human. I had so many bad words and fingers for the company, but she was nice, it wasn't her and I'm putting it blame where it belongs....at the store, not a 877 number.....Turns out, she is unable to answer WHY....Walgreens hasn't even started the order that was to be delivered hours prior and EVEN with "Walgreens Math" telling you one hour is 2 hours and 13 minutes in reality....they haven't even bothered to do DIDDLY 3 hours and 21 minutes later. She kindly not only cancelled my order, she stayed the few extra minutes on the phone being kind until I made it safely home....I was that sick, with an even sicker spouse at home. I did get sent a laughable 10% coupon for my next Walgreens online purchase but I will NEVER ever ever ever be dealing with Walgreens again. Bad Word, Bad Word, Bad Word. Walgreens lost our prescription business in 2023. To us, only a couple thousand out of pocket each year, but our insurance pays them over $10,000 per month for our medications per our EOB's. Moved to a new area a few months and thought we would give them a try again.....WE were the ones obviously on drugs.....same mismanaged mess dysfunctional disaster never mind where you are. Stay away. The CVS on Balfour is a bit unique also, but they will at least attempt to find whatever it is needed to allow you to enter your birthday on the computer (why it's not on them and is random and hidden near the register floor)....but hey, when you say I'm so sick, I'm so "contagious", at least they respect your circle. read more

What's important about this location is that everyone I have dealt with here has been extremely friendly, helpful and professional. I'm only writing about my own experience at this Walgreens. I read many horrific reviews about the pharmacy here, but my experience was quite different. First the store: all the associates who work the registers & photo department couldn't be nicer. My digital photo printouts were literally ready less than 15 minutes after I've submitted the order. Everything in the isles are nicely stocked & faced. I really appreciate this location. Now the pharmacy: there were about 3 technicians & 2 pharmacists when I got in line. All the techs were very polite & courteous. I requested a transfer of my prescription due to my regular pharmacy did not have the drug in stock. I was informed that the whole process will take about 30 to 60 minutes. I was told I'll get a call or a text when ready. Unfortunately it took longer than 60 minutes but for no fault of Walgreens because my regular pharmacy was very busy too. After calling Walgreens to ask if they could call my pharmacy again to request the transfer, they happily obliged. I got a call in about 15 minutes saying that it'll be ready in 15 minutes. So I drive there after 15 minutes & was told that they are still working on it but it'll be ready momentarily. So by this time there was only 1 pharmacist & 2 technicians left to do everything including the drive-thru pickup. Needless to say they were very very busy. After waiting about 5-10 minutes my order was finally ready. The very nice technician apologized & explained to me that it was my insurance company that caused the delay. They needed to find the correct diagnosis code to submit for coverage. Well, I am very appreciative that they took the time to make sure my copay was $0 instead of having to pay out of pocket unnecessarily. So terrific job Walgreens. I know the pharmacy business is a very tough one to navigate with all the insurance hoops you must navigate thru & the horrific labor practices from corporate management. So my hats off to you all. This Walgreens has everything you need but I have to say whoever stocked the chips on June 29, 2023 around noon, and whoever chose the chip selection deserves a raise because they have absolutely everything. I can see why they only have 1.5 stars after my experience. I'm a nurse and my patients tell me they always have issues trying to get their Rx at this Walgreens when they're supposed to be authorized but then told by the pharmacy they're not. I even bring in the authorization letter and confirm it's approved by the insurance company but yet TYLER wants to continue to argue with me that it's not and he seems so confident telling me the incorrect information. Tyler doesn't wear his name badge which I imagine is a no-no by Walgreens but he has this blank stare. No customer service skills at all. Just like most people these days he doesn't try to resolve the problem or investigate further what the issue is and instead tells me what he THINKS is the answer. Thank goodness for the other technician, Faitishma (spelling?) for stepping up and taking the time to figure out the issue and helping us. She explained the issue and also helped us with the solution. If more people were like her then Walgreens would probably have 5 stars. If we continue to stay with Walgreens I will only deal with her or I will start having my doctors send Rx to other pharmacies. read more

I would give them a - 5 if I could !!! Not a safe place at all . I had my medication their almost a yr . I had four same problems with them . I called ordered my insulin pins I should get 5 box for the month . This last time my caregiver went to pick up my medication she received one box and told the lady at the drive through " I normally pick up more than one box ". The reply , " no that's correct ". When I went to get my insulin found only one box then my caregiver told me what happened. I called the pharmacy they said to me ," I'll have to look at the video and call you back ". Next day received a call " you received four boxes." I informed them this happened before a few months ago and was told the video said I received all my insulin then received a call the next day stated they owed me four boxes of insulin. Spoke to Mang pharmacy next day what a joke she could not do simple math . I informed her I use 60 U three times a day for 30 days one box was not enough. Her reply " that's three pens". I told her to try again .. " oh that's 9 pens so you get four boxes ". I told her to try again .. two pens come in a box so that would only be 8 pens what do I do about the 9 th pen you did not give me ? They don't seem to care I then called the district went no where .. Walgreens does not have any compassion about their job . The Mang pharmacy said she would try to tell the insurance that I lost it so they would give me insulin. What a joke received an email out of pocket cost is over four K insulin denied by Insurance.No call from Walgreens at all like I said I received an email stating this .. I called again no insulin for me again called corporate with no reply so if you value your life I suggest you don't go to Walgreens !!! My concern is senior citizens who will allow Walgreens to get away with this a lot of senior citizens don't follow up they just assume Walgreens knows and they're doing it correctly we need to look out for each other because definitely this Walgreens does not care whether you get Medication to keep you alive or not.. Being a diabetic it's already a death sentence but not to get your insulin is definitely another problem and they didn't seem to care I lived or died by not following up on the situation about my insulin.. and to this day still nothing from corporate office. Absolutely the worst Walgreens in existence!! They are refusing to fill a prescription for pain meds because the Dr is "out of the area".... I was involved in a motorcycle accident in august and was taken to the trauma center in Stockton. Today I called about my prescription. I was told multiple times by 3 different people my meds would be ready today a day, early as a curtisy as mine were damaged. My Doctor even called previously and confirmed it. The man who didnt give his name in the pharmacy rudely replys with wrong dates and says it wont be filled today and says to bad. Calls me a liar, calls my wife a liar and my doctor a liar as if i made up this curtsy day thing. He claimed to be a manager on 1/20/23 around 1 pm . Called back by 4:30 still nothing tried to get it transferred to a new location couldn't get through to anyone. No call by 7:30, I call them to find out it's been filled just no message to me. A very helpful younger man was working there about 5 o'clock today. I went in and asked where a product was. He explained that he was new, where he thought it was, and then offered to walk me back to it. You don't see this much anymore and I told him I was impressed. He said that he likes to help people. This Walgreens used to be good. Lately, it's clear they don't have enough staff. The staff attitude is usually ok, but they are so busy they are very short with people. They seem to have no empathy for those of us who are suffering. I wouldn't necessarily blame the staff. If they were staffed properly they might be able to spend an extra minute to help people. I called them yesterday and after spending 10 minutes on the phone they wouldn't take the time to get my son's insurance updated for his prescription. "We'll just change it to cash payment and you can give us your insurance card when you get here." She spent less than 2 minutes talking to me and was rushing to get me off the phone. My prescriptions are always delayed. It now takes 2-3 trips to get a prescription filled. I lived in Brentwood since 2002 and used them since then. Now I'm disabled and so is my wife. We lost everything and live in Discovery Bay. Making multiple trips to the pharmacy is not good on multiple levels. I have been using their online service for refills and that works well. I try to use the online service whenever possible. I may switch to the other Walgreens on Balfour and hope they are better. Switching to CVS doesn't sound appealing as I read they force you to sign up for robocalls. I'm in pain all the time and barely sleep 4 hours per night, so I frequently take naps during the day. If this store shapes up I will update my review. If you're a new customer please go to a different store. The poor elderly gentleman in front of me in line was trying to get his wife's prescription filled and this was his third trip to the store. He could barely walk and they told him to come back in 40 minutes. Mind you the wait in line is usually 10+ minutes each visit. I also heard the staff tell another person in front of me that they were 3-4 days behind on prescriptions. I think they need to staff it 24 X 7 or put in another Walgreens in Discovery Bay. The drive through is slow and walking inside is usually faster. Plus you can't buy anything like Allegra-D through the drive through even though it's in the pharmacy. Probably because you have to sign for it. They should treat the drive through like McDonald's where you have multiple ordering posts and that way they can work on your prescription while you are waiting instead of making you come back. While most of my review is about the pharmacy the main store is clean, and organized. The checkout stands leave a lot to be desired. The wait to checkout is often 10 minutes. They have other staff working the photo and makeup counters usually doing nothing, but they don't send them over to help or call customers to those other areas to checkout. I love the location and convenience of this location. I like Walgreens much more than CVS. However, I am finding it increasingly difficult to get my prescriptions filled here. I get all kinds of texts telling me they cancelled my order, or to call to speak to pharmacist, or problems with insurance. I try to call, and can expect to be on the phone for ages. This last time was 20 minutes, just took be told there is no problem! Something is wrong here, and I'm thinking they are under staffed. Hire more people. This pharmacy is the absolute worst. Everytime I drop off a prescription they tell me a time it will be ready, then I come back at said time and wait in a 40 minute line only to be told its not ready and will be another 30 minutes. This has happened the last 3 months in a row when I've tried to get my medicine. Of course if I try to pick up my medicine when the pharmacist is on break (which seems like all the time) I have to wait even longer. There have been quite a few months I have been unable to get my medicine on time and have to skip a day because of walgreens issues. I now have to make sure I can dedicate a whole entire day to picking up my one monthly prescription. On top of the horrible wait times, the staff are just plain rude. They have zero respect for privacy and they do not treat their customers well at all. I have even seen the pharmacy assistant yelling at an older woman who just needed clarification on something. I will 100% be switching pharmacies but I doubt Walgreens cares. I just hope someone does something about this situation before there are serious consequences for their actions. Some medicines cannot be skipped for a day because walgreens is unable to fill them in a timely manner! read more

I want so badly to split this review between two shifts because the service is NIGHT AND DAY different depending upon which staff is working. I have had enough prescriptions to understand the process, I know that some things are out of the employees control. I get that insurance or physicians delays are not the fault of the techs and pharmacist...however, what is in their control are the very things that cause this one star review. This pharmacy makes silly mistakes, purposeful delays and they 100% do not care if you are sick, inconvenienced, at your wits end, or ready to scream. I have seen them laugh in the back, I have seen them move at a snails pace when they are aware someone is waiting, and honestly it's gotten to a place of my thinking they get off on the control of peoples time and frustration. I've had the same thing happen MANY times but it's handled so poorly with a certain few people. Today at noon I was told yet again that a script was received and it would take an hour, cool, I could come back. I come at 4:45pm and the script has not even been started, same situation it was in at noon. I KINDLY ask if they could do it next as I was told earlier it should be done by 1pm. The guy says yes, then I notice his shift is over, he leaves and I assume my script is still a priority, wrong. Six or seven customers later, employees chatting it up in the back, I literally start to tear up because I don't feel well. I ask another guy, could he please look for mine next? Now I'm the jerk because they've brought me outside of my character through their mistake, and he gives me a flippant, nod and "mmm hmm". He finishes with a customer and goes to ask about my script and the pharmacist or tech (whatever she is) points to a bag that was sitting there for who knows how long, knowing it was mine because she glanced over and I'm the only one waiting with tears in my eyes. I swear my husband said they do it on purpose! I never have this problem in the morning, never with one pharmacist that is so kind, it's literally one group of three or four and especially one girl who you can tell hates her job. I'm not saying it's easy, I'm sure based on the service or lack thereof that they provide, that it's no picnic to work there as they are constantly being barked at due to THEIR incompetence, but if they could show an ounce of compassion it would make a world of difference. I have had multiple issue with this location! First off they have horrible customer service and communication issues. Today I was frustrated with this pharmacy especially the pharmacist! My daughter prescription was sent in and when we went to pick it up 4 hours later because no one informed us it was ready or any other issue regarding the prescription. When picking up the prescription, the pharmacist told us "We do not have that in stock." Wtf are you kidding me, you are telling us this 4 hours later ?! While i have a sick child that need her medication? Then she said it's because they got busy and low stock ?! So how is that my fault? You couldn't pick up the phone to inform us so we can go to a different location? This is honestly by far the worst service that I have received. Please do not get anything from this pharmacist. They refuse to give me my money back after charging me THREE times for the same prescriptions, so now I have to call my bank and let them know Walgreens has fraudulently used my atm card for unauthorized transactions. This store has no clue what they are doing. I paid for my prescriptions before I got to the store, showed the pharmacy employee the bar code as instructed after paying and she insisted I only paid for one of the five I had just paid for. She then without my knowledge or permission charged me an additional TWO times for the prescriptions that I had just showed her I already paid for and the store is refusing to give me my money back. So it's perfectly ok to them that I paid for the same prescriptions THREE times and after calling and explaining how I just saw these illegal transactions made by their employee on my atm card, Kayla and Dwayne told me I had to go there again and show them my emailed receipt and my bank account information showing the illegal charges and then they told me they couldn't do anything and to come back tomorrow. I have been going there for years but will never go back there after they stole my money and refuse to refund the two illegal transactions. What kind of company does that? I'm shocked. read more

Fantastic place for a quick something...from water to SD cards...Lipstick to toilet paper. I even just left with last minute pasta we needed for last minute dinner. Though prices can be higher than other multiproduct stores, they have buy one get one free for some hair care products I've never seen elsewhere at such fabulous discounts (just the buy and get 1/2 off, which is everywhere). You can also save more when you buy the store brand that's available on many products. Overall a great place for grab and go needs! read more

Super annoyed, my review is for Walgreens Pharmacy Drive Thru. It shouldn't take 40 mins in drive thru to pick up medicine. They need to come up with a fast lane/ fast track/Express Lane. I never have questions, never have problems with insurance. I just give them my last name, sign the paper they hand over to me, grab my prescription and go. Should only take 5 minutes. In and out. Someone suggest to management, the district manager, to anybody about creating an 'in and out fast lane' for customers that don't have questions/comments/concerns that could take up to 20-40 mins. This pharmacy is the worse and a formal complaint has been filed and local news has been contacted. They refused to fill my mother prescription because her MD is not local. As in he is a Berkeley MD because he is a specialist and my mother needs to go to him for her illness. And mind you this is the same rx she has gotten filled there for over a year now. They made her move her prescription to the Walgreens in Antioch in Hillcrest which is further away and she is disabled. It's disgusting and discriminatory. Not only will my mother take her Business to another non-Walgreens pharmacy but so will I. I encourage others to do the same. read more

If I could give this store lower I would. GARY , hope I spelled that right will HARASS YOU if you leave your number for the MANAGER to call you. I am so disgusted and appalled at how this man treated me for needing a plan b this weekend. I am not ashamed by it ‍ but I'm ashamed of how I was brushed off, lied to, and mocked by this employee. He needs to choose a different career field. I asked to have the manager to call me but was told no I could call Monday...after I made clear that was not an acceptable answer he went to the back and spent more time looking for the managers card that I didn't care about because he was needing to call me. As I was leaving I told him I'd take it to Corp and he asked if I needed him to spell GARY for me. How dare you. How dare you. At that point I was pushed to my limit and began to use fowl language to which he decided to tell me I had no class. Gary stop yourself. I left the store after making a scene in the store because I was so pushed to my limit. I sat and cried in my car because I was so upset at how I was treated and dismissed over a product that should have been on the floor!!! Or available in the back so they could grab it!!! How am I as a customer who needs a plan b supposed to know how it works? I don't buy these ever. After I finally left GARY used my phone number to call me, after he had already pushed me to my limit, pushed me to use fowl language with him ( I only said f**k) and I had to leave the store because I was making a scene but he thought it would be right-no matter what he was telling me- to call me. He needed to give me time to calm down. I then finally, after telling him he's harassing me, that HE HAD A PLAN B IN THE BACK and would SELL ME IT... I THOUGHT THEY WERE LOCKED UP GARY. I had already BOUGHT one online and USED POINTS so I was not going to spend double my money and spend almost 100$ on it from this store. I went to another store and won't return to this Walgreens ever again. And on top of this all, the cherry on top, the manager never called me I had to call Wednesday and give my number to someone else because my number was not given to the manager. And as one store manager does he is covering for his employee and having his back. I understand that when they aren't in the wrong, but in this case Gary was completely in the wrong. I was lied to and made it feel low just because of the item I was buying. I guarantee he talked smack on me afterwards Don't go to this store. And don't deal with Gary. This review is about the pharmacy only, not the entire store. The Pharmacy is always short staffed, there are long waits, rude employees, and very rude management. I receive multiple automated texts and phone calls from Walgreens to pick up my prescriptions. When I drive across town to pick up the same prescriptions, they say they are not ready, this happens all the time. It is so frustrating. When I complained they said that Walgreen Corporate is to blame they have no control over the texts and calls. I would be happy to call over there and check before I waste my time and gas but they don't answer the phone either, occasionally they pick up only to put you in Eternal Hold. I have to be honest I have been surprised by the occasional worker who is very nice but this is unusual not the norm. All the Pharmacy's in this area have bad reviews, I wish I knew where to move my prescriptions to. This Pharmacy doesn't care about the business or the customer. read more
