Even while busy with people lined up inside and at the drive thru, she still took the time to find what I was looking for. Turns out, it was out on the isles and I had passed it about 86 times! I just have to say, in general, pharmacies have become a complete disaster in this country. They are severely understaffed, and lack thorough and efficient customer service. It seems although I switched pharmacies several times, I run into problems at each one of them. Specific to this pharmacy, I came a few weeks ago to pick up a prescription for Tylenol and they tell me that it is on back order. I have yet to receive any notification of it being back in stock. Today I was prescribed an additional two medications by my doctor, I came to pick them up and was told that they could be ready in one hour, I come back over two hours later and they told me that they are still not ready and for some odd reason got stuck being processed through insurance. Then I was asked if I could wait an additional half an hour because the pharmacist was doing flu shots. This seems unreasonable to me, although I expressed the fact that I don't live nearby, there was no kind of empathy offered or resolution. Just an empty apology and a suggestion for me to go wait in my car or come through the drive-through. read more

Pharmacy here is a joke! I guess flu shots are not a money maker! Waited 45 minutes for a 5 second shot! Was told 20-25 minutes wait because someone was in front of me! Really disappointed that Walgreens offers vaccination services but does not have enough staff to provide the shots. I was told it would be 45-60 min wait for a vaccine, because "there is only one pharmacist on weekends". There was only one other customer in the pharmacy and I could see four employees. When I asked if I could schedule a better time or call ahead, the employee said no and suggested I come in on a weekday. read more

Made an appointment for a vaccination. Got the confirmation. Arrived to find the pharmacy closed early and left a sign to call another nearby Walgreens for help. Called that Walgreens only to be told they couldn't honor my appointment. They said the Walgreens I'd made the appointment with (THIS ONE) had called everyone the night before. Yeah, I got a call from Walgreens the night before, but they left no message. They tried to play off that they "couldn't leave a message because of HIPPA," but I know for a fact that's not true. Even just to say, "This is Walgreens, please call us back regarding your appointment" is not illegal. OR they could have sent a follow-up email saying my appointment had been cancelled and I would need to reschedule. Instead, I wasted time and gas (on a busy Friday evening) for nothing. I am so disappointed in the store. My step-father needed a very important eye drop for his failing cataract. He was experiencing horrible pain and went to a specialist last Monday. A special eye drop was ordered which he would need to put in his eye every 2 hours with hopes of saving his cataract. The medicine was sent to the store by the dr. office last Monday evening. They said that they did not have it in stock on Tuesday and that they would need to order it. After many phone calls from my parents who are 80 years old, to the pharmacy may which are never answered, I drove out there from my home in Pleasant Hill to try to see if I could help him find out when this medication would be available. Yesterday, I went into the store after waiting on hold for over 45 minutes with no answer. I spoke to a young lady named Wendy who initially said that they don't have medicine. I explained that it was ordered. Another man came to her assistant and said that it will be delivered at 4:30. I double checked that they had every phone number of both mom and dad. She also wrote a note to herself. I asked if she would still be there at that time and she said yes. I felt a bit reassured that it was on the way. My Father drove to the pharmacy (he waited until 6 pm to give them time to unpack delivery) yesterday. He had to wait because the workers were on break only to find out that it wasn't there. Never a phone call to him to say anything. I explained the importance of this medicine that He could potentially loose his eye site. He now has decided to go elsewhere because of this poor customer service who are more worried about going on breaks than helping poor elderly customers who need medication desperately. I have never witnessed less caring public workers. I should know because I have been a nurse for over 30 years. 2 stars for my experience at Walgreens today. Here's what happened. I found the product that I needed and brought it to the check stand. The attendant scanned the bar code but nothing showed up into the system. She told me that they could not sell me the product because it was not entered into their system (I started thinking to myself..."Okay, why is the product on the shelf then?"). A couple of employees told me that their online stock can be deceiving because the stock data is misrepresented . The manager eventually stepped in and said that there was no way he could sell me the product unless someone from Corporate enters it into a system and that would not guarantee that I could purchase the product the same day. I was not happy with the result and insisted that they put the ticket in so that I could come back another day to purchase the item. The manager went to the back to enter the ticket. After a few minutes, he came back out telling me that he called a few locations and found the price for product. He was able to sell it to me for 50 cents more than the online price. Bottom line is that if the store does not have products scanned into their system and ready to sell then they should NOT have the product on the sales floor. This situation could have been avoided if the employees did their due diligence and checked throughout the day if items had price stickers or not. If they came across items that had no price stickers then take them off the sales floor! read more

I have been going to this Walgreens for the past ten years because it is right around the corner from my house. My family and I know most of the staff and they have always been so kind. Today my mother and I were in the drive-thru waiting to pick up her prescription. It was taking a very long time (about 30 minutes) even though there were only 2 cars when we pulled up. About a month ago my mom got her license stollen. She has an ID that she has been using to pick up her scripts for the past month but it's expired. Due to covid and the DMVs being closed except to those who want a drivers test, she has not been able to get a new ID. (She needs a State ID, which is different than a drivers license). Marianne is who helped us originally. She had given my mom her other prescriptions prior to this even with the expired ID because you only need to see the person is over 18. But today, she refused my mother her prescriptions because it was against the store codes. I understand that these stores have rules put in place that employees could be fired for breaking, but it's a pandemic. My mother needs her medication to live, that's why it was prescribed it. We are not able to get a new ID even though we have been trying for the past month. We waited in line for 30 minutes just to get denied even though Marianne knows us and has been helping us for years. We asked to speak to the manager and Kim picked up the speaker phone (she did not come to greet us). She was extremely rude telling us that we were wrong about the DMV rules even though we have been researching and dealing with this issue for months. She was very dismissive and degrading and I do not appreciate this behavior at all. If this is such an unbreakable rule then should Marianne get fired for breaking it the past month? I just wish people would try to be kind. My mom needs these prescriptions and we can't get an ID. We are in the middle of a pandemic and if people could just try to do the right thing it would be greatly appreciated. read more

This place is horrible. Go to another pharmacy. They've "lost" my medicine and I had been waiting 2 days. They were about to call the Dr for another refill then found it. Every time you call there's always 3 people ahead of you on the phone. You literally will be on hold for 45 minutes. I've been on hold for 35 mins once then they picked up and hung up. There's a few female workers in there that are so mean and rude and it's not just a one time thing. I know it's not me because I'm always smiling and I've seen others come out of there extremely mad. This place needs new workers and ones that have customer service skills. Go somewhere else..this place is not worth the headache read more

This Walgreens dropped the ball big time, leaving three other Walgreens locations to pick it up. I work for the county and our clinic is participating in Red Nose Day on May 24th. The first week of May, I went to this Walgreens (the location closest to our clinic) to discuss our needs for Red Nose Day items. I was able to get most of the items, however, I needed a large quantity of Red Nose Day pens which they did not have in stock. They (the manager and an associate named Linda) assured me they would locate them/order them and have them for me in the store the following week. I gave them my name and phone number and planned to come back the following week to pick up the pens. I went back to the Balfour and Walnut location the following week as planned, DURING MY LUNCH, to pick up the pens. They didn't have them. You know what they did have? My name and my phone number literally taped next to the checkout counter...which the clerk who spoke with me when I arrived confirmed. So, they could have easily called me to tell me that they did not have my order as promised and to not waste my time driving all the way over there on my lunch. Instead, I got there to pick up my non-existent order and while the clerk was going to get the manager and Linda, I grabbed a personal item I needed. When I was done getting my personal item, I headed back toward the check-out counter expecting to see my order. I didn't see my order of pens. What I did happen to see were three staff members (the manager and Linda and some other person) huddled in the corner on the side of the store, talking. It was very obvious by their mannerisms and their faces and their hushed talking that they had not even attempted to get the pens that I'd ordered from them the week before. When I approached them (because they weren't approaching me) and asked what was going on, I was told word-for-word the exact same thing they'd told me the first time. That they were trying to get them from another store on Willow Pass, blah blah blah and that they should have them by Friday. So that was a huge waste of my time. On Friday morning, I called this location to see if my pens were there and of course, no surprise, they didn't have the pens. I was told Linda would be in around 10am and that she would call me then. Fool me once.......so I began calling other local Walgreens on my own to see how many pens I could gather up before the weekend. The Walgreens location on Deer Valley (Raquel), the location on Lone Tree Way (Priscilla), and the other location on Balfour (Mike and Vinny) saved the day in LESS THAN AN HOUR. Each of the people mentioned at these locations went out of their way to locate the pens in their stores and hold them at the register for me until I was able to pick them up. They were polite, cheerful, helpful, and courteous in every way. I am so grateful for their assistance in solving my dilemma. It may seem like a minor thing, but organizing an entire health clinic to take orders, collect money and find items for a charity event is time consuming. I spent my lunch hour on Friday driving to each of those three locations and easily and quickly picking up the pens I needed. It took me 45 minutes. The location on Balfour and Walnut was attempting (so they said) to get the pens from a store in Concord. They never even called me back. Not to apologize, not for anything. I was able to do in less than an hour what they couldn't do for me in over a 7-day period. I should have done it this way to begin with and saved myself the hassle of ever needing to interact with this Walgreens location in the first place. The most disheartening point of all is definitely not that I was inconvenienced. I can absolutely live with that. It's not cool for a store to tell someone that they will help them and then absolutely do the opposite of that, but I took care of the issue with the assistance and cooperation of the other three Walgreens locations that actually did help me. The most disheartening issue is that this is all for a charity event that helps children living in poverty and for some unknown reason, Linda and the manager at the Balfour and Walnut location could not have seemed to care less. As a side note, this also seems to be the location that we hear the most complaints about from our patients. Now, I can see firsthand why that is the case. Super disappointed in this particular location at Balfour and Walnut...but absolutely grateful to the three locations that did help me without any hesitation. read more

The pharmacy is a joke. Ordered a refill through the app, was told it would be ready today at 10am. When I arrived at 1pm, my Rx still wasn't ready because "one pharmacist didn't come into work and the other was on lunch"...when I explained I would come back after work at 6 (posted closing time is 9pm) they said "well, we might close early unless we can find another pharmacist" but didn't know when they would close. I called twice on my way to and from work only to be on hold for 30+ minutes each time. When I arrived at 6pm I was in a line of about 15 people all talking about the same experience (I got the automated call from Walgreens while in line telling me my Rx was now ready). One customer at the counter was frustrated because the pharmacist refused to talk to the doctor that she had on the phone, saying they only communicate through fax. While that might be policy, the pharmacist's response of storming over to her and slamming a pen on the counter for her to write their phone number down, before he huffed away was pretty rude. Needless to say, I got my Rx 8 1/2 hours after I was told it would be ready. I'll be shopping around for a new pharmacy tomorrow. read more

Went through drive through after an hour, got only a portion of the medication ready. the other medication was denied and after inquiry said okay come inside should be ready in 20 mins. Now I am in 1 hour and 20 mins waiting. I am now inside had to go to the wait line again. Got to the front line and the pharmacist rep said to wait on the side. Ok. fifteen more minutes. now I am close to 2 hours waiting while hearing their horrible Christmas songs playing, mocking us waiting in this endless line. But I am calming myself thinking I do not have to come back here for another month. Pharmacist calls my name. She now says the insurance denied it for too soon of a refill. What the hell? Why tell me 3 times to wait and it was soon to be ready? Her excuse was they had new folks working there. Not my issue. Most horrible pharmacy ever. read more

They gave my husband the WRONG medication!! Side effects are suicide, suicidal thoughts, death- etc. This is HUGE -people make mistakes but this is BS! That mistake could cost someone their life! Luckily we noticed they didn't look the same and checked. But heaven forbid someone trust that their pharmacist gave them the correct medication and just took it, or what if it was his first time taking it. We wouldn't have known better. Shame on them. Regarding pharmacy: They do provide service on time which I appreciate but recently you can just tell the pharmacists there hate their job. Very short mannered and rude. I use the drive-thru service when my son is sleeping but each car always take 10 + minutes... Be prepared with a lot of patience. And avoid the drive thru. read more

I really thought I was the only one who HATES coming to this pharmacy. There are literally on two people who work here who seem competent and actually give a damn. I had to come to this pharmacy for the first time because my mom needed pain meds for severe pain. To provide context, she was told by her doctor that if the meds didn't work to come into emergency to be admitted into the hospital. I got to the pharmacy at 4:15 and was told to wait for an hour. I sat in my car for an hour and came back through the drive through. I was then told that there was an issue with the insurance and to get out of line and come back. I did that, cane back thinking the issue was resolved. They said the medicine still wasn't ready and to get back in line. I sat in line for 30 minutes again and still had an issue with them calling the wrong people and not being able to find our insurance. Had no problem at another pharmacy but somehow had an issue here. At this point, I was concerned about my mom and paid over $200 for her medicine. The pharmacist informed me that I had 5 days to come back for a refund. Only mentioned the receipt and didn't mention the paperwork. I came back 4 days later and was told I didn't have all of the proper paperwork to get a refund. I should have went off at that point. I really should have. If you have other options, go to a different pharmacy because this place isn't worth it. read more

She informed my mother and I about an awesome sale going on (buy 2 makeup or nail products, get the 3rd free) and even offered us coupons when we were ere at checkout. The pharmacy at this location is Horrible!! Bad customer service, all if the pharmacy staff is rude! When calling the pharmacy I was on hold for over 11 minutes before anyone answered the phone. Once I got a live person they couldn't answer my question as to if the medicine ordered by our doctor was ready. When into the store to pick up and the staff was rude! This place should be shut down. Unfortunately, my medical insurance is contracted to only fill my prescriptions at Walgreens. This month I took my prescriptions to this location and make a long story short the pharmacist Refused to fill my medication despite there being a note on my actual script from my doctor to fill it. Keep in mind this Walgreens has filled my prescription like this before with no problem. It was only AFTER I told the woman pharmacist that they were being ridiculous the first time I went in, did she want to be vindictive and play God with my meds. I will NEVER go to this location again nor do I recommend this particular. pharmacy to anyone needing a prescription filled. Got a prescription sent to this location for my nephew who was having a bad allergic reaction, called the pharmacy on way back from doctors and woman assured me the scrip would be filled in "15 minutes".... Arrived at Walgreens 30+ minutes later and first thing the pharmacy tells me is they can't locate any record of said prescription.... Well that's weird especially considering I was just on the phone with you where you located and confirmed the scrip no problem..... After telling the tech this (pretty sure it was the same woman from the phone) she says Oh yes they located the scrip but have no ETA on when it will be filled "because they have a lot of orders to fill".... Ok, I know you are all busy, but why assure me this will be filled when in reality you don't have an ETA on the fill status?? Normally I'd brush this off but since it involved my infant nephews immediate health, I'd say it's completely unacceptable. Train your pharmacy techs in customer service, please. If they don't understand all aspects of their job (which includes understanding how to communicate with customers regarding time sensitive materials) then they should seek employment elsewhere. read more
