Though I completely understand that Walgreens pharmacy may be overwhelmed with new prescriptions since the closing of Rite Aid, I had to make three trips into the store and then was told I'd have to wait 20 minutes for the prescription to be filled. The first trip to the store they filled only one of my two medications, the second trip they gave me only a 5 day supply and told me they would text me when the rest of the order was ready. I've never received a text and now I'm down to my last day of that medication and they told me I'd have to wait 20 minutes as they were just now putting the order in. Unacceptable! I don't like being that hard to deal with customer but to be told it was my own fault for not verifying a text message that was never received is very upsetting. If my insurance plan wasn't directly tied to Walgreens, I'd be shopping for a new pharmacy. I miss Rite Aid. read more

If I could give ZERO stars! I most definitely would! I have called this pharmacy (and assure you, I AM NOT EXAGGERATING) at LEAST 6 times and they kept putting me on hold then after waiting for 15-20 minutes EACH TIME. THEY WOULD SIMPLY HANG UP!!! The one and only time they answered the pharmacy technician picked up and I informed her I had been put on hold several times. She could care less about what I had to say and replied very rudely "Well you're going ro have to continue waiting" If you want bad customer service, have all the time of day to waste waiting on them and not get your refills or medication inquiry then this is the place to go. Side note: pharmacy techs and pharmacists... If you hate your job and aren't doing it for the right reasons get another job... The medical industry is in eager need of compassionate, kind people that strive to help other and the current pharmacy team at WALGREENS ON I ST CHULA VISTA IS NOT IT!!! DO BETTER!!! I have zero positive to say about the Walgreens Pharmacy in Chula Vista, on Broadway Avenue. Nov. 2nd, near 1 PM, call the number for the pharmacy to check if my Rx was ready for pickup. On the line five minutes, the first call and have to hang up for another call; get back on-- to HOLD! I was on the line for 17+ min and still no one picked up. (supposedly 2 calls before mine ‍‍- or so I am told at initial answer.. ) Go to the store 50 min after ending the call 'cause after it searches, the computer tells me Rx will be ready in an hour; supposedly it's being filled. [see attachment showing receipt of Rx on Mon, 11:56 AM! OVER 12 hrs previous 2 my arrival!!] I was still at the store 45 minutes later... Wait behind 6 customers, with 1 clerk attending for 23+ min. Even then, 14 hrs after receipt, 1 hr ++ min after hearing, "It'll be ready!"-- IT WASN'T! Frustration! I tell clerk this will be the VERY LAST time I ever trust Walgreens with a solitary nickel, and obviously won't have any other Rx's sent here! Asked to wait 15 more minutes, oh joy! Finally after 20 min passes and I appear in proximity to counter, I'm told, "It's ready!" There're lines for picking up Rx's. Lines for people to get shots, but there's no order here and 1 person jumping thru hoops, between lines; zero other hands on deck. The shot line went up to 7 people, still no extra support, much less customer service. Negative stars if I could give them; one stars all that in good conscience, I can assign. Terrible service, all NON-Customer based, inconsideration. [And sadly in 3 weeks, 2x here on Broadway in the last 9 days, horrid experiences-- especially with the pharmacy Rx/info, call-in-line!!! But also with chaos of not enough help for dispensing Rx's or attending vaxx clients!!] (and there were other clerks around, but no one checks the line to see if customer's needs are being mis-served and stalled!) Why do people pay any money or give so much of their time to Walgreensz heck they're hardly given more than CURT, attention?? I am a native Chula Vistan, and I was in town visiting my family. I'd forgotten to pack my replacement continuous glucose monitor... I'd left the new one at home in Las Vegas. I spoke to a very nice man at the pharmacy On the morning of October 17th; he could NOT have been more helpful. He really was lovely. Imagine my surprise when I went in around or just after noon, (when Mr.sweet man told me my RX would be ready), and a woman named Gloria was waiting to 'help' me. Gloria was so unfriendly and rude, almost menacing, that I actually felt a little nauseous after being subject to her vitriol. My RX hadn't been ready but that wasn't a problem at all- we left, and I just decided to come back later. When we returned much later, in fact EIGHT hours later, in hopes that maybe Gloria had gone home, I sent my sister and aunt in to pick up my my cgm for me. I just couldn't bear the thought of being talked down to by Gloria again, if she happened to still be there. This person needs some very serious lessons in customer service and an attitude adjustment. What if she had behaved this way to my mom, or my grandma??? Not ok. read more

So I completely u derstand their crappy reputation without even reading the other reviews. Wife confirmed a prescription was in stock before 1pm. She received an email confirmation to pick it up4pfter 4pm. At 6:30, I'm in the drive thru. 20 minutes to get to the window. They asked if I could come inside to wait while they got it ready. Whatever, I go inside and take a seat. Another 30 mins goes by before they inform me they don't have it in stock. I ask why we were told to come in, they respond with, "did you call this one?". No retard, i called another one after 6 years of using this one, then this one confirned both ververbally AND through email, but i mustve made a mistake. Useless sacks of meat. This was a tough one to rate. It could of been between a 1 to three star. I upgraded this to a 2nd star for the follow up experience only. I needed Passport photos and went in right after lunch. The photo counter was a little busy, and I waited about 10 mins for my photos. That's fine, as I know the photo counters can get busy for time to time. I get my passport photo taken and I get rung up $14.99 which is about the average. I then proceed to walk towards the exit, and notice my passport photos are blurry! Who shot this? Mr Magoo? I let the lady know and she acknowledges that the Passport photos have been blurry recently????!!! I was kinda shocked, but pressed for time, so i kinda ask that she re-shoot them for me. The passport agency is really strict when it comes to proper passport photos, they would of rejected these. She reshot them and the next ones came out fine. I couldn't tell what type of camera was being used, but it looked like a basic cheap point and shoot. They do make specific Point and shoot passport cameras. They should look into getting one of those. Hopefully no one is getting sub-par Passport photos, only to have them reshot at a later date. read more

Pharmacist was condescending, presumptuous and decided it was best to advocate loudly enough for other patients to hear that these prescriptions were going to be OOP (as if that wasn't enough, the tone he was using was as if he assumed I had no money.). Pretty low blow from a guy within arm's reach. The rest of the store was clean and floor staff was nice and friendly. Sooooo this Walgreens is a FedEx drop off location as far as I understand. But when I went there last right around 7pm the shift manager denied my drop off. I was told that it was too late to drop off. But no where on their FEDEX drop off requirements said I needed to before a certain time. My packages did meet the requirements though which I provided a picture of. Came back an hour later only to wait another 40 mins while hearing the pharmacist that went to lunch for the entire 40 mins talk about her weekend plans. No one acknowledging the long line of people waiting for over 40 mins nor telling us why we were waiting so long. read more

This Walgreens is located in Chula Vista. It is the closest location to us. Hubby always has some free money to spend. He had $15 to spend. Who does not love free money to spend? We managed to get our daughter a couple of toys and some frozen food. I love how Walgreens has so many items you can purchase from food, drinks, to your everyday needs. I love looking at the make up aisle. It is so organized. The store is clean and there is a clearance rack in the very back of the store. Unlike most stores, you have to be a member to get the sale prices and the free money to spend. The more you spend, the more you earn points. That is how you get the free money. I normally don't shop here since I don't have a Walgreens in Imperial Beach but if I ever need anything, I would definitely come here. There's plenty of parking in front. read more

They do have a drive thru, but since I just had dental work, I could not exactly formulate sentences that would made sense over an intercom! I dropped off my prescription inside and decided to walk around the store. Every employee I crossed paths with up and down the isle, greeted me and asked if they could assist me with a smile. Horrible customer service at the pharmacy. I waited over 20 minutes at the drive up watching the lady help every customer in line. I called on the speaker and she said "hold on" and hung up. Finally when she came to the window she didn't even try to find the prescription She asked me his first and last name and told me she didn't have a prescription for him I had to explain to her how to find it. Waited for over 40 minutes in the drive thru for medication that was supposed to be ready for pick up. At least 10 cars behind me left. The wait everytime I go here it's an issue. On the bright side there is a young cashier on the store side with lots of tattoos that is real nice. ordered online 1 day shipping, ordered 3 acne creams it was a buy 2 get one free and only one came in the mail, called the 1800 number and they actually picked up relatively quickly, but they told me to call the store directly, upon calling the store, customer support continued to pick up and instantly put me back on hold a total of 8 times, i could hear them physically lift the phone up and put it back down every time they picked up, after finally picking me up one of the pharmacy workers said that i had to talk to the front desk and transferred me to the front desk which then did the same process of picking up and putting me back on hold and when they finally picked up they sent me back to the pharmacy line where I once again had to listen to them physically pick up the phone and put me back on hold numerous times. In the end after getting put back on hold numerous times and after picking up they just told me to call the 1800 number which had told me to call the store. fuck you Walgreens read more

I used the Walgreens at I st Chula Vista because my United Healthcare offers no co-pays on tier 1 & 2 drugs. This store is junky. When using CVS I received texts telling me a refill was ready, here I received a phonecall telling me if I didn't pick up a prescription by the end of the day it would go back into stock. This for one I didn't even know was ready. As a precaution against that happening again, I went in, I was the only person in line for the pharmacy, but was ignored for 10 minutes. They did not even acknowledge my presence. Next year, unless United Healthcare switches drugstore chains, I will be switching insurance companies again. Had my doctor call in my prescription when I went to pick it up there was a oersonat the counter and a person ahead of me. I understand people need info in their prescriptions but this man had 5 to go over. I know it was 15 minutes because I had sent a text the minute I got I to the line. By now there are 4 people behind me. The person finally calls up the next customer who also needs extensive help. I say the clerk say hello to a personin all black and I thought they would step in but they did not. I stepped out of line went to the side and asked if someone could help him because he was taking forever now it has been 25 minutes. Store is clean and staff is friendly. Pharmacy is lacking in friendly staff. They always seem too busy to help customers. Treat then as though they are a bother and at times don't even make eye contact. Multiple times I've received calls that my meds are ready only to drive over and find that they are not there. No apologies just come back later. When authorization is needed for refills they NEVER follow up with doctors. Patients/customers should be advocated for on all levels of healthcare even from their pharmacy. I will be transferring my scripts to another pharmacy. read more

Went in for a flu shot and ended up getting the shingles and whooping cough (Tdap) vaccinations as well. The customer service in Pharmacy was phenomenal. Marcie gave me the flu shot; I didn't feel a thing Dr Shawn had to give me the other two and warned me about it being painful for a few days. Both of them were super nice, gentle, attentive and informative. I highly recommend this store. Michael at the cash register was super nice and friendly when I stopped to buy chocolate. Been taken my 80 year old parents there for years for their medications. The pharmacist are great. They always go out of their way to help them. I unfortunately had to deal with the manager Rita to pickup a product I had sent to the store for pickup. The manager was very rude. Had an attitude from the minute we started talking. Soooooo...... here we go. I got an alert from my fedex app letting me know my package is ready for pick up. I recently lost my wallet and only had my expired ID,a pic on my phone of my recent ID and my temporary ID papers from the DMV. Long shot that they would give it to me. Not the issue. I walked in. No one in sight and waited for 5 mins till I finally said out loud " does anyone work here?" Lady finally popped out of her office. She already had a *not today* look on her face. Asked for my name and tracking number. I handed her my ID and was pulling up the tracking on my phone. "Your ID is expired and cant give you YOUR package". I offered the other forms " you need a physical identification card". I understood and left. I called the company that sent me the package and they told me to go back and refuse the delivery so they can send it back quick so I can get my money back. I walked in and asked them I refused so they can send it back asap. They obliged. My issue is ...... they wouldn't give me my package without my valid ID but let me deny the package with my invalid ID. Hmmmmm I see something very wrong that. Smh. read more

I was down here driving and I felt a cold coming on - I stopped by to get a box of raspberry Emergency-c - I was shocked to see it was $13.79 - I usually pick this up at Von's or Amazon for about $10. The Benadryl price was also a few dollars more than I usually pay. I went by the drink section - and prices were also higher! Whew - and you get to use their scary parking lot - where there were two stained mattresses just in the parking lot like people use them every night to sleep. They look like they'd been there for a while. I feel sorry for the people who live around this Walgreens - I mean, it looks like a neighborhood with people living below the living wage. Many don't look like they can afford higher prices. So many people begging on the streets, pushing their carts around. People with bags walking everywhere like they can't drive or can't afford get get someone else to drive. It's a long walk to a grocery store from this neighborhood so sad :( This place is a rip-off for people who can't afford to be pinch a quarter here, five dollars here. I bet they're also selling baby formula at a huge markup. Don't support this store. Dump your old mattresses here so no one can park, litter is a form of protest, so let's work off of what someone else started. I just wanted to write about my experience at this pharmacy because I have experienced the vast amount of angry customers that go through these lines. They were short staffed when I got there, but being understanding is not a trait people tend to have lately. The pharmacists were doing their best to refill prescriptions and keep the line moving, another Walgreens worker (not a pharmacy worker) even came back to help alleviate the lines. Of course she can't handle the medications, she can just issue the ones that are ready to pick up. I witnessed someone blow things out of proportion because people were going ahead of him (mind you these people were merely picking something up while he had questions and needed further assistance from a PHARMACIST. When I got called, the pharmacist was friendly despite being harshly treated by half of the others there. Yes there will probably be a wait but take a look behind the counter, they're all moving and they're all working as fast as they can. read more
