I stopped in to this Walgreens location to pick up some last minute items for an event. There was plenty of parking available, though the entrance would be hard to get to if you're driving on the other side of the road in this busy area (you may have to take a U-turn). I was looking for ice to add to my drink coolers for my event and found packs of ice near the drinks. They were a bit more expensive than other places I've stopped at, but the convenience of being near my event made it worth it. Plus I wasn't sure if Walgreens would have ice and I was so glad there was some. It seemed the store was lightly staffed, but when one of them saw me walking towards the cash register they joined me there to check me out. I think everyone has their favorite drug store. It may be where you pick up your prescriptions, who carries the items you like most or just where you have been going for years. I really like Walgreens and here is why; They have great sales on drugstore beauty items. They are open late. You can accumulate points with purchases which turn to cash off your future purchases. They add up fast too! I like their store brand items. For me, this location on the corner of Sunrise and Antelope is very easy access and close to work and home. I can find a ton of grocery store items if I need to in a pinch. Mostly the points add up quite fast. Every few trips I am using points and saving money. Yesterday I was able to pick up some photos I printed same day and use a 40% off discount code. More savings! read more

I had to start using this pharmacy because it's the only one in my area that carries my medication. They're absolutely terrible. The assistants are super rude, they're closed often because they're short staffed and it takes forever to get a prescription filled. Go to Bel Air down the street. They're fast and friendly and can actually fill your prescriptions without taking a week to do it. read more

Had to leave a review. Swung by today for a quick purchase. The guy checking out in front of me was purchasing $400 gift card with cash. She hesitated and asked if he was on the phone with someone. She must have heard the guy on speaker phone coaching the guy. Turns out he was on the phone with a scammer from "Amazon". She told him she refused to vendor the purchase, and he needed to hang up the phone. He was hesitant to do so, saying he received a message saying something about his amazon account. She continued to refuse the purchase and had him give her the phone so she could hang up for him. It was obviously a scam, a guy had a foreign accent and was pleading his case on speaker phone. This lady was a hero today. Saved an innocent soul from the evil scammers that plague us all. read more

After several bad experiences with the pharmacies at 2 of the Walgreens in Citrus Heights, my family and I are no longer doing any business with Walgreens stores. Here are our experiences with this location. On my first visit, I observed Samantha telling inappropriate jokes and being abrasive towards customers while waiting in line. When it was my turn to check in for my Covid-19 booster, I asked her if I could ask her questions about the booster. She responded by handing me a paper disclosure. Another tech was more helpful and answered my questions with ease. The employee who gave me my booster expressed his dissatisfaction working at that location and he was ending his employment with Walgreens. The following day, my sons and their Dad observed Samantha being inappropriate towards the same employee who didn't want to work there anymore. When they got home, they were asked to return to complete paperwork that is required to complete before getting the booster shot. My kids' Dad lost his immunization card so he asked if they could replace it. The employee handed him a blank immunization card and told him to fill in the information. The employee didn't even ask for ID or verify anything in their system. My kids' Dad didn't get his Covid-19 vaccines there, only his booster. My son went there today to get his booster shot. Samantha told him she could not help him without his vaccination card. We returned home to retrieve it but he could not find it. I called the pharmacy and spoke to Lawrence who said they would be able to replace it. I then proceeded to share the negative experiences we had with their pharmacy. Lawrence said the immunization card was vital. If Samantha had cared enough to verify my son had received his immunizations at Walgreens, she could have easily offered to replace it instead of directing us to go home to get it. Lawrence tried to give me an explanation. I told him I simply wanted an acknowledgement, not an explanation. He said he did not want to give me an acknowledgement without an explanation. Because of the tone in his response, I felt he was dismissing their poor service and how it affected my family. I was so upset at that point I said F you and hung up. We cancelled the appointment and scheduled the booster at another location. read more

The pharmacy staff are understaffed and always seem stressed. It is difficult to reach them by phone. They don't fill prescriptions as quickly as the Walgreens app states they will. I've never had this issue at other locations. I go to another location further from my house because I don't want to deal with this pharmacy anymore. read more

The pharmacy is always pretty busy. They don't generally have a very good attitude either. They have gotten my perscriptions wrong on several occasions. I would call 3 days before I'm out of test strips we're gone. They would give me the wrong brand and then when I bring them back they would not have the right ones in stock. So I would go a couple days not testing my blood sugar. I started checking all my stuff before I left. It was like being in the McDonald's drive thru. My wife has had the same issues. She uses a hormone patch. She is allergic to the adhesive on the patch. So she needs a certain kind. They got that wrong about 10 out of 13 times. Short story long............................ I forgot to tell you about the tweeker that works there. She is all twitchy with sores on her face half covered with heavy make up. Lol so we went to Raleys... I ordered same day delivery. After several inquiries and 3 hours my text was finally answered. My ordered had been cancelled. This is the second time Walgreens has been unable to complete an order. This is a place that sells prescription drugs not fast food. This pharmacy is in a busy location with two lines- one indoors, the other drive through. Their staff gets pulled in many directions between each line, looking up insurance, phone calls, and of course preparing prescriptions. If the person in front of you can't tell the difference between their oral meds and a suppository you are in for a long wait while the pharmacy staff explains things. This staff is always busy and constantly multi-tasking. Due to some of my family's health issues I need to frequent this place as often as three times a week. Samantha has always been extremely helpful for us, working diligently to fix the myriad of issues that surround modern post-capitation health care while helping maintain a busy pharmacy. Due to the sheer volume of work these people do I gave the location four stars because like any busy business you may be in for a wait to get your medications. read more

Staff are extremely unprofessional. They don't offer their customers shopping baskets because, and I quote "we don't let customers use our baskets because they steal them." So I had to carry all my groceries. The pharmacy NEVER checks their voicemails. My doctor called in a prescription and left it on voicemail and they never got it. So, my parent had to wait several days to get their prescription that was time sensitive. I will never come to this Walgreens ever again. Don't recommend anyone coming here. read more

I had a very unpleasant experience with the pharmacy at this location. Just a background on my situation, I just had surgery last night, from excessive bleeding (blood transfusion and 3 bags of blood) and was in need of this particular medication to control my bleeding. When I spoke to Lawrence, he was very helpful and assured me that if I transferred my prescription to them, I would get it right away. (My designated pharmacy did not have it on hand). Lawrence directed me on what I needed to do. I went ahead and followed his direction. The unfortunate part was that I ended up being the middle man calling my pharmacy and Walgreen's pharmacy to make sure that they were in contact and sending the documents they needed, to get my prescription filled. When in fact, one of them could have just called my pharmacy and gotten confirmation. More than 1 hour later of back and fourth, Walgreens was still saying they had not received anything. They did not know the status of the prescription because now the pharmacist was on break and I would have to wait until she got back. Of course I was upset, so I apologize that I did curse while speaking to the gentleman on the phone. It was not directed towards him, but towards the frustration of this whole process, that I felt no one was really taking charge of. I then drove 10 minutes to the pharmacy and within that time frame, they miraculously just received the fax and call from my designated pharmacy. There were 3 techs and 1 pharmacist that day. The lady at the register was very polite as I was to her, but it was Samantha that felt she had to prove a point. I had not spoken to Samantha once, within this whole time. I could sense that she was irritated with me and knew of the situation prior to my arrive. She abruptly told me: We just got the prescription from your pharmacy and you will need to take a seat and wait another 15-20 minutes for your perception to be filled. Please keep in mind, there was no one waiting around at the time. Samantha then proceeded to say, rudely, " you are welcomed to wait or shop in the clearance items to occupy your time." I proceeded to ask them, why it had to take this long and how important they knew this prescription was to me, from the beginning, but ended the bantering and waited. The prescription was filled in less than 5 minutes. My take away from this experience is that the pharmacy has a big responsibility and a hand over us, clients, who desperately need what they have. I felt that if someone would have taken the responsibility to handle this, with a simple phone call, this wouldn't have taken the time it did. It just shows laziness and lack of effort. Then for Samantha to make me wait another 15-20 minutes because she was unhappy with me is unprofessional and just mean. Now reading the reviews, it seems this customer service is a common practice at this Walgreens pharmacy. read more

This was the worst pharmacy experience ever. Only one pharmtech working to cover the window, the phone, and the long line of people waiting in the store. Then after standing in line for 15 minutes another pharmtech finally appears. Once I eventually reached the counter I did not hear, "Sorry about the wait." Nope. Worst pharmacy service ever. You'll regret choosing this location. I have been coming here for only 6 months but today, I politely told Samantha that I'm experiencing SSRI withdrawals and I would like to pick up my lexapro prescription asap. Right away she says "there's a problem"and put her finger up to me "" then walks away, she came back and insisted that they don't have it (it's been cancelled?) and was extremely unhelpful and had a bit of an attitude about assisting me. She said I can pay the cash price or call my doctor. I called the doctor immediately and the doctor said they sent it over so the pharmacy should still have it. I went right back, and Samantha again is having an attitude about helping me and how I've only picked up my 30 days every time. I had my doctors office (uc Davis) on speaker phone as I'm at the pharmacy window and still Samantha is extremely unhelpful and told me to go sit down while she literally just called the same person I was on the phone with. Finally after waiting for 15 minutes, it was the person on the phone with me that told me I can go home and stop waiting at the pharmacy. The doc even asked me "is she helping everyone else first or what?" When I was the ONLY person here. I was nothing but polite and respectful to her, i was patient and calm when this interaction took place even tho I'm on no sleep and I'm nauseous due to the ssri withdrawals. Still didn't get to pick up my prescription and when my family called to check on it hours later, Samantha answered the phone and gave an audible smirk after hearing my name. I cant believe how unprofessional and discourteous Samantha is and that she's the one dealing with your pharmacy customers on a daily basis. I'm never coming back. The store is fine and I have had a decent experience with employees there. The coupon policy is horrid and should be changed by their corporate people. I spent 70 dollars in the pharmacy and received a coupon to get three dollars off with a 15 dollar purchase. At the register I spent 18 dollars and the coupon did not take 3 dollars off. Don't go to this pharmacy. They do not care. I will not go into all the details, as they are long but the bottom line is that because of a constant technicality they have left me without a medication for days at a time. Today I went in to ask about my latest which was ordered Wed morning while I was with my doctor who said pick this up on your way home because I want you on it now. I have high blood pressure. It escalated with the Pharmacist when shTe got involved. I kept saying I just want to know why this is happening and how to fix it. Last month I went without a antiviral drug for 5 days because of the same issue. She said if I would just stop interrupting her she would answer me and I said I just wanted one simply answer and she dismissed me!!! She waited on another person. The helper said if you will wait a few minutes we can fill the one you came in about and I blew it. So what made simple to do after all of that? I got another remark from the Pharmacist and I looked at her and said keep your pills and she pointed toward the door. I responded "screw you." I can't remember being that upset. I retired from a job as an expert witness/negotiator trained to not get upset like I did. Walgreens is my preferred pharmacy so I am with them for another year so I am going to interview other stores and see what they say and hopefully find one to transfer my business. Maybe there is one where a 78 year old man with critical high blood pressure who needs his medication and hasn't had it for 3 days will be treated pleasantly and with respect. read more
