I stopped at Walgreens on a Friday morning to pick up my prescription and they told me it would be ready in 30 minutes. I hung around town all day, since I live 30 minutes out of town, as it wasn't ready. I came back several hours later after two messages telling me it was ready. There were 4 cars ahead of me. We waited 45 minutes in the drive-thru and then they told me my medicine would not be ready until Monday! I said, "I have two messages saying it's ready and I've been sitting here 45 minutes!" She checked again and I finally got it! Because of such a long wait, we were then late to a birthday party we were originally hoping to be early to! I will not be going back! read more

After a shipping disaster left me without the documents I needed for a big workshop the next morning, I was in full panic mode. I stopped in here as a last-ditch effort an hour before close, and wow--these guys absolutely saved me. Duncan was kind, patient, and quick to help. I left with everything I needed, stress lifted and ready for my meeting. It's rare these days to find service that genuinely goes above and beyond, but that's exactly what I got here. Walgreen's is always a convenient place to stop! I have four stores I frequent. The one at 22nd and Westown in West Des Moines, 86th and Meredith in Urbandale, 70th and Douglas in Urbandale, and the 128th and University location in Clive... The hours vary so you have to check their hours online, but Walgreen's is my normal go-to for a quick stop for anything medical related... And was my pick for anything Rx related until my insurance pushed me to Hy-Vee or Walmart... Darn you Cigna! Ample parking. Great selection and friendly staff! I appreciate the Rewards savings and availability of over the counter generics. You can never go wrong picking any one of these four locations! read more

It should not take a one hour wait in the drive through to get your order. Then have the car beside you served first that wasn't even in line when I arrived. You never gave us the receipt with the survey number on it to keep complaints down. We will be moving all scripts to CVS because of too many 30 and 45 minute waits for mods in the drive through. You took 10 minutes just to ring a guy's charge card before sending g him the receipt. That's ridiculous. read more

The nice thing about Walgreens is it's a convenience store as much as a drugstore so they carry some of the items that I need sometimes from Viva paper towels, Laundry soap,to food- some groceries and typical convenience store things like chips, donuts, pop, water and ice cream. The first aid items are extensive, and they have a large health and beauty area. They also have a small household supply area and school and office area. The customer service was great. I had two different staff members who took me directly to the item I was looking for. When the line started to get long, they called someone up to the front right away. Just remember, it's about expectations is understaffed, so I always appreciate the service staff who are working. I really try to look them in the eye when I'm checking out and tell them I appreciate the work they're doing. It's a small thing, but I think all of us can do it. I usually love coming here they are all typically sweet but however was working Christmas Eve shift around 1pm with the black jacket with light strings printed needs to feel some more holiday cheer or not ignore people dead in their face because that's real cunty of you Karen. Who knowingly hangs up the call button while someone is in a drive through and keeps walking past them--head down like you don't see them? I'm 3 weeks postpartum, my medication was called ahead of time, I'm sick and will not get others sick by going inside. I have a ton of patience so I'm okay if you're busy especially since it's a holiday I want to NOT be a nuisance. Please say you are going to get to me and not ignore me for 10 minutes walking back and forth. Three techs saw me and until I decided to press that call button AGAIN at the drive through a kind gentleman ended up helping me out in a minute! Tldr: 3 techs ignored me for 10 minutes in drive through, could've told me they will get with me. read more

I was very impressed with the beauty section, maybe even better than Target. It's not the cleanest, but will do. Why the low rating? Service. In the past month, I had gone to get my passport photos done. First, they were overpriced and done WRONG. They made me put my hair behind my ears and over my shoulder and then redid it. Normally, this wouldn't bother me, but the man editing our photos took his break when he should have been editing them. What the heck?!? I decided to look around the beauty section, which I already mentioned was great. However, I looked around for 30 minutes! I went to the photo section and asked about my photos. They said an hour wait, which is just outrageous. I really just wanted to get out of there, so I went out to eat at nice pizza place. I came back to get my photos, and was not impressed. They had not edited anything! I still took them, although upset. Recently, I went to fill out the other forms for my passports and the workers there told me they did the photos in a weird way. The same place also offered CORRECT passport photos for half the price. Please get better service! read more

I've been waiting in the prescription pickup drive through line for over an hour. When I pulled in, there were three cars ahead of me and nine in the left lane. I'm still in line and being held hostage because there is no recourse once someone gets in like behind you. The customer service at this Walgreens is abysmal! Every prescription requires a long wait. The pharmacy's customer service or lack thereof was by far the WORST. The pharmacist was eating and his lab coat was filthy. When he came back to administer the vaccination, there were no safety precautions. I stated I did not feel comfortable and he replied,"if that's how you feel." I walked out. I was visiting the area over the weekend and left some prescription medication at home. The pharmacy staff member that helped me initially was polite, and then the pharmacist got me an emergency supply on the spot. I had to wait about 4 minutes! The pharmacist was super friendly. I went in there expecting them to say "Sorry, can't help," but I was pleasantly surprised. So nice of them! Gotta say, if Walgreens wants to make a training video of "what not to do" it has to star this location. I'm not basing this review on a single visit, I'm basing this review on every visit. The only thing this location has going for it is that you can pick up prescriptions 24 hours a day. But wait, there's a catch: they will only have part of the prescription available every. single. time. but will charge you for the entire prescription. Wait, there's more: they don't tell you that if you don't pick the rest up within 3 days, they will return the meds to stock and refund money to your insurance. They do not tell you this. That's all. You need to know nothing more. Don't "question" the pharmacist about anything. The response was "why are you questioning me?" Honestly I hate writing reviews like this but they didn't respond to my survey, or my conversation with the store manager. Avoid this location unless you absolutely need something in the middle of the night. read more

KayNisha working at the photo/tech section is extremely rude. She needs more training on customer service. After waiting in line I proceeded to inquire about Passport photos; she then dismissed/ignore and assisted the customer behind me. I stood there in a moment of disbelief that she didn't explain that she was going to help someone else or if she needed help with another employee. I left the area and she then said I was going to help you. Had she explained what she was doing I wouldn't had felt the way I did. I told her she should of communicated what she was doing and that she lacked the decency of customer service. Whether she is going through personal issues or just having an off day KayNisha requires more training or better bosses that notices red flags in their employees. read more

When I checked last week with one of the pharmacist, they said they are giving second booster shot and asked me to wait. There were around 10 people behind me so I went home. Today when I went there again for shot, pharmacist declined and saying it is giving only to 55 yrs or older. This is a lie and I made an appointment with my clinic immediately. I am done going here after this bad treatment. They did not respond to me when I said this second booster shot is available for everyone. read more

I decided to pick up my prescription, the drive thru shouldn't be bad at 1:30, right? Wrong!!!! 8 csrs in the drive thru. they have teo lanes, but one has been out of commission for months, someone had to high a vehicle and hit it. seems like if your drive through is that busy you would fix it. I went inside and there was no one in line. if you're able walk inside and not wait. they had a post out front that was damaged. that took months to fix. their building maintenance needs some attention. I will be transferring my prescriptions out though. They keep telling me that I can get my scripts on a schedule, that I can get them all at one time. They call me every month to tell me that they'll be ready on a certain day. It has yet to happen in the last 6 months they've been promising it. It also took an act of Congress to get them to stop printing my drug fact sheet in giant font. It was about 6 peices of paper for every prescription, I'm not sure how it got that way, but took about 5 phone calls and several threats of an age discrimination suit to get someone to change it. When you call the local number for the pharmacy it sends you to a call center, they always end up transferring me back to the store. That is frustrating, at least give me an 800# so I know ahead of time thatI'm not calling the store. read more

I believe this Walgreens location (among others) has an internal competition on who can be provide the worst customer service and experience. It's a showcase of incompetency from the lowest level employee all the way up to the store manager. They are always unorganized: I have had several prescriptions sent here that simply disappear into thin air and my doctor had to send them again. Their interactions are completely devoid of compassion and concern for your well-being: we needed our medication at a certain time because we were leaving the country soon, and they refused to help us by citing inapplicable laws. I confirmed that they simply weren't interested because it was a bit of a hassle for them to go the extra mile. They make you wait for no apparent reason, or will not tell you why you are waiting: I waiting in the pharmacy drive-thru lane on one occasion over 10 minutes without having a single person greet me. I could see one of the ladies through the window and even gently tapped my car horn to get her attention. She completely ignored me. I had to call the store manager. Then she had to walk over to the pharmacy and ask her to greet me. Their excuse was that they were short-staffed. I understand that such things happen, but all you had to do is quickly acknowledge my presence when I drove up and inform me that you are running slow due to staffing deficiency. The management should be replaced: all of the aforementioned issues ultimately reflect on store management and even district management. These issues are a result of poor leadership. If I could rate them less than 1 star, I definitely would. I went to this location for a Covid Booster amongst other things. The pharmacist was eating food at the desk station, his lab coat was filthy and his customer service was LESS THAN desirable. Fast forward to him entering the room where the shots were to be administered...no safety packaging or information about the vaccinations were present - 2nd red flag. I've been coming to this Walgreens for a long time and for the first time I was helped by Lisa while I was trying to find foundation to match my skin tone. It was my first experience to test at the counter and I think it's great to where we can test our colors before we purchase it. Lisa was very kind and helpful! The people running the pharmacy drive-thru need to figure it out. I waited behind a single car that didn't have insurance (or that was what I was later told by the cashier) as FOUR other cars showed up and were served in the line next to me. I understand that sometimes you get unlucky, and choose the wrong lane... but I waited for 30 minutes! Tell the people to come inside and figure it out. It's supposed to be the express lane! I have used this pharmacy for years. I love that it's 24 hour and that I can do renewals on line with the website. They are VERY busy location especially since Mercy and Methodist moved into the neighborhood. Kinda fun to wander through and see all the junk. read more

If you want terrible customer service this takes the cake. Just ask for Mark because he goes out of his way to deliver the worst service as possible. All over me just trying to explain to him that I had to submit two photo orders because after I completed my first order on my app (which I've done many times) and then I didn't receive a text so I submitted it again, and me wanting to know what happened to my first one. And he decided to let me know, and I quote "You didn't hear me! You didn't complete your first order so we don't have it!" Weird.. because I received an email..... but, okay. Mark your customer service is sh!t, especially it being the day after Christmas, and I hope that after this you decide that being in a job that literally is customer service, that you give people respect, and good customer service. When you pick up a prescription be very clear if it's the first time you have used the medication. I went in, picked up a first time medication that apparently required needles. They didn't say a word about it, I get home after the clinic is closed and the pharmacy said they would fax an order to my doctor Monday. What happened to good ol' communication, you would think they would of said something to the dr, or to me. The only thing I can blame my Dr for is not sending the script to CVS, my preferred pharmacy. Oh well.. live and learn. read more
