Pharmacy continues to disappoint. Most people using a pharmacy are doing so because they are dealing with an illness, underlying disease, recent surgery or something to help maintain their health. Therefore, already wanting a little support. The pharmacists should understand this. If only negative stars were an option. I placed an in store pickup for Mother's Day cards. I understand that sometimes stock is an issue so I opted in for substitutes if needed. I made a clear note requesting "general Mother's Day cards" you know to give out to friends and family. The cards I ordered were inexpensive. When I picked up my order and returned home, I noticed they substituted the cards due to stock- however the person who picked the substitution clearly doesn't know how to read because I received 5 Mother's Day cards "to my mother"/ I figured no big deal - let me call. I called the store and asked for an exchange and I explained what happened. "Samantha" who said she was a manager told me to come to the store for the exchange. I get there - and she says oh. We actually gave you cards that are "worth more" so you can't exchange it . WHAT? After you told me to come in? And wasted my gas and time? She then admitted to not being the manager and that she was a "lead" After several minutes of attempting to explain that this was THEIR error and that it's simple to exchange them, she refused as she doesn't know what she was doing. She took my number down with an attitude and told me her manager will call me. At this point this Walgreens should at the very least get some attention from corporate because the employees grossly lacking common sense, urgency, accountability and basic customer service skills. Walgreens in El Dorado Hills on Saratoga Way has very poor customer service in their Pharmacy department. This pertains not only in-store, but also on phone. I called to check on an online discrepancy and was put on hold for eight (8) minutes. I was then immediately hung up on without speaking to anyone. EIGHT MINUTES! This is not the first time this has happened, but I have always given them the benefit of the doubt. This, however, has happened so often that I have surmised that they are completely understaffed and really don't care about their customers. In person, when picking up prescriptions, is no better. The pharmacy reps seem to be extremely under-qualified, not to mention very rude. I will be transferring all my medication's to another Pharmacy and suggest you do the same. read more

This pharmacy is blatantly playing with people's healthcare and lying about it. Came on to review and not surprised at their current 1.5 rating. I had a Rx called in this morning and immediately received a message from Walgreens that it was out of stock and delayed. I called the pharmacy to discuss my options. The gentleman who answered the pharmacy line took my question about availability, put me on hold to inquire and a woman picked up the line to follow up with me. I asked if they had any and, if not, how to determine if anyone else in the area had stock. She was short in her questions, rude in her responses and told me "no nobody has it, it's out of stock everywhere; I can order it for tomorrow or the next day." (we're talking eye drops for pink eye, not opiate level dt need here, just to be clear :/). My next call was to Bass Lake Safeway to confirm "nobody has it" and I got the pleasure of dealing directly with Sam the Pharmacist. He's funny, kind, and on the ball! Of course they have it and he went to work getting my script transferred from Walgreens. Not 5 minutes later, Walgreens calls me and pharmacist kindly says my script is ready, why am I asking for it to go to Safeway? She and I discussed the discrepancy between the details she was giving me and those of my prior call (who exactly was lying to me, and why?) and I confirmed for her that I unequivocally would like my Rx transferred to Safeway. And I'd recommend you do the same. Sam the Pharmacist earned all my business in under 60 seconds! read more

Would put negative stats, but I can't- this is specifically for the pharmacy. I was just in there today, was there around 1:50- worse experience ever with a pharmacy. I put my prescription in around 11:30 and was told it would be ready around 2pm, when I got there around 1:50, it wasn't ready, they had entered my insurance company info number wrong and rather than calling me ahead of time to get it or filling the prescription and then double checking the info- I got there and they told me it wasn't filled and that they're going to finish their lunch... I had to wait until about 2:15 to get help and then the lady who checked me out, had so much attitude, when it was their mistake. I definitely would not recommend this pharmacy. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would do it. I booked a covid test appointment and they decided to not call ahead and mention they closed the drive through pharmacy. What reason do they have for closing the drive through pharmacy? They are apparently short staffed yet I see at least two staff at the pharmacy and the store itself is essentially empty. I am feeling sick and weak and they have the gall to say that I should go somewhere else. I had to act like a Karen and demand a test which they eventually did allow. However, the tech, Melvic, was being a jerk and kept mishearing my name and made fun of its pronunciation. It took him over 10 minutes to just bring me the test. I have been to this location before and it usually takes 5 minutes for the whole process. They took their time on purpose. Like I said, I'm feeling sick and they kept me waiting way longer than is appropriate. I wish these people would actually have repercussions for their actions, but we all know that won't happen. I wouldn't be surprised if they "lost" my sample after all of this nonsense. Avoid this place entirely. Proof is in my photo. The first lap is about a minute after I made eye contact with Melvic at the drive through and started the conversation. The second lap is when I finished giving the test. Mind you, I have taken many Covid tests in the past and he didn't even give me the instructions (I didn't need them), so this could have been even longer. Filling incorrect prescriptions then giving the customer attitude like we had something to do with it. Being alerted that our medication is ready only to be told in person to have the Dr send whole new one over. Total incompetence. Met with nothing but an inconvenienced attitude and immaturity. This store falls under the category of decent or passable, but it's not a store that deserves much more praise than that. There was extremely slow service at the pharmacy, the checker up front was absent for a while and I spent a long time looking for someone to help me. On the plus side, I did find what I needed and they do seem to have a good job of keeping stock on their shelves. This store has been descending for a while. I am not using them anymore for multiple reasons. The latest is people needing a COVID test wait in same drive thru as people merely picking up prescriptions. With that your efficient way to retrieve medicine is gone. I got in drive thru at 1145 for a 1200 test. 5 cars in front. Got to window 1:15. Imagine those sitting behind me trying to simply pick up meds. Then you get to window and staff are usually curt and rude. Several people in line to pickup prescriptions but no one in the Covid vaccine check-in line so i went right to window and waited. At least 7 people were working. Cashier at pharmacy tells me my doctors prescription is an OTC medication when it's clearly not. She says I can just get it on the shelves. I have no clue what the medicine actually is, no clue about the dosage. I tell her it's clearly not an OTC medicine since my doctor called it in to have you fill it. She checks with pharmacist and it's not OTC. Then cashier tells me it will take 20 minutes, you know, to pull the medicine and count the pills. This was 9am on an empty morning with no one else there. Medicine was ready 3 minutes later. It was like she was being difficult on purpose. What was the point of all that? Horrible Store from Hell.!!!!!!!!!!! You can get better service in any third world country. Two days ago I went to pick up some pharmacy prescriptions. I use the drive-through because I cannot walk. When Joe Pesci said they "f**k you in the drive-through", he was clearly referring to Walgreens. The first time I waited 45 minutes, only to finally get to the window and be told they were 'just doing Covid testing today - I'd have to come back'. Doesn't anyone think to sue these people? Why not? Today I bypassed the drive-through and reluctantly used a walker to go into the store. Now, stop me if you've heard this, but some elderly people actually NEED to pick up prescriptions once in a while (see suing comment above). But Alas. There was no one is the store. When I say no one I mean NO ONE. Not at the counter, not at the registers, not at the pharmacy, or anywhere in the back. NO ONE!!! It was 1:30 in the afternoon and not a soul (customer or employee) was in an open store. However, there was a big sign hanging over the 'closed' pharmacy window. "Closed due to lack of help". Seriously. You can't make this stuff up. If it had been anyone else, they would have stolen the register and everything else they could carry. That's what this store deserves. No.......what they really deserve is to lose their insurance and close for good. The manager needs to be fired... twice.... and then run over. Period. Come on people. We came in today, Monday, to take the photo and the lady at the photo counter told us that they are not taking passport photos today. Please let us know or transfer it to a location who CAN FILL IT. In the past two months, the service at the Walgreens pharmacy window has dramatically improved. Can't say the same for the phone service. I phoned today to learn what was ready for me to pick up for both my husband and me, and "Stephanie " was rude and short. There was no greeting, no indication that I was going to be put on hold, no explanation when I was told that prescriptions were not ready, etc. I was forced to play "Detective. "People like her should never ever be dealing with the public. Sad, but the more things change, the more they remain the same. This store is the worst. Move your prescription or have it called into another location!! First, I receive calls for prescriptions that are ready and when I get to the store, they have no clue what I am talking about - even when I replay the voicemail. Second, I had a prescription called in at 9am, I called to check status at 9:40. They told me to give them one more hour. So I call around 11:40 and as I am driving to the location and they told me the prescription is ready. I arrive at the store and there are 10 cars in the prescription line, I walk inside and there are 15 people inline and people sitting in chairs. I called in and asked simply if they had my medication and stock and how long would it take to get it into the store. I called in to see if it was ready, was told 20 minutes, a few minutes later they called to see if I had ever taken this meds before, she said 15 minutes more, 30 minutes later I go to drive up to be told it would be after 2pm that would be another 35 minutes. This is almost every time I have a prescription to pick up. This is an edit to my previous review... after the delay in filling my prescription I get a message that a partial order can be picked up until they have time to order the medication.
