This is my first visit at this East Sunrise Blvd Walgreens and now my last. Walgreens stores are built for quick grab items situated on organized shelves with a pharmacy, photo center, candy & toys and cosmetics. While most locations are very similar, this one was lacking in customer service. Let me explain in detail. Plenty of parking near the front doors and a security guard sitting in the lot providing a sense of comfort for customers. The store was spacious and visually clean and observed one employee assisting a customer at a photo kiosk. I grabbed boxes of candy for the movies and went to the check out counter with another customer and realized there was no clerk available for check out. After a brief wait, I placed my candy back onto the shelf and left frustrated. Drove to another Walgreens in Fort Lauderdale for my successful candy purchase. More staff is required to run a smooth operation with happy customers. read more

I just sat on hold for over 20 minutes regarding a medication. It is not the pharmacy staff's fault! They are great but understaffed and over worked. After being with Walgreens almost 20 years I'm moving everything to Publix. Walgreens, stop being so cheap and hire more people instead of squeezing your employees to death. read more

Typical Walgreens. Located on Sunrise on the side of Federal going downtown. I went to check on some electric toothbrushes. They had a good selection of them. The store is nicely organized and well lit. Staff was a bit busy so not very friendly. Overall a nice place to stop for things if you are in the area. read more

The pharmacy is horrible. They use to be good at refilling my prescription but now been waiting over a week and a half and kept saying DELAYED. I called and they told me hasn't come In yet which was fine but then I checked recently and all said I have no prescription. If you need help at this location, ask for a manager named Kelvin. I lost a check on a busy Saturday and believed I dropped it in the store. Not only did Kelvin make a note of my complaint, he went back and watched the security footage to help me figure out where I might've dropped it. Although I never ended up finding the check, I decided to write this review because Kelvin deserves the recognition for going the extra mile when it came to helping me. Refuses to fill full prescription ordered by doctor citing corporate policy. Prescriber and insurer reject renewed prescription for shorted number of pills leaving me the patient without my medication. This stores process is a mess of lost prescriptions arrogant attitude and ineptitude. read more

This isn't my favorite Walgreens, but it definitely suits the purpose of stopping at your local drug store. *Note I do not keep my prescriptions at Walgreens so I can't comment on the pharmacy. The store itself always seems kind of dim. There tend to be some interesting characters both inside and hanging outside the store. This location doesn't seem as big to me for some reason as others, or maybe just doesn't have as robust stock as some of the other locations. But you're going to get your every day items here like you would most other location: chips, candy, greeting cards, pharmacy, photo lab, makeup and more. The line is always long, and while the employees, in my experience, have been friendly, they aren't the quickest movers and shakers I've been waited on by. Overall, it's just okay. If I need to I'll stop by, but this location isn't my favorite. read more

I just left the rudest shift supervisor ever. His name was Howard and as I approached the register I over heard him badgering a young male sales associate about some area of his performance and I didn't think it was the right time or the right place. No customer needs to see a performance review while being checked out at the register. But then I heard the young man ask if he (Howard) could cover his register while he used the restroom and he said no! What kind of leadership are you guys hiring? I asked the guy (Howard) you're not serious right? And Howard told me I should mind my business. I see now why good employees are hard to come by at this store. The leadership is horrible. read more

9-12-22: This is a tale of two Walgreens. This store, at 1515 E Sunrise Blvd., and the Walgreens at 26th and Federal Highway... here goes... I picked up a prescription for Atorvastatin - a generic cholesterol medication from my doctor and took it to CVS to get it filled. CVS put my information in their computer, entered my insurance information, and promptly said, "Take it to Walgreens". (I guess they didn't take my insurance.) Sooo... I took it to Walgreens at 2355 NE 26th St, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33305. I gave them the prescription, my insurance card, and my driver's license and asked them to price the prescription with my insurance. She banged on the computer keyboard for a minute and said the retail price is $336. YIKES!!! But, how much with my insurance???? She said she couldn't tell me unless she processed the order. The woman may have been a little bit rude, but mostly insane.... did she seriously think I would give up the prescription only to come back an hour later to find out I owed them $336.??? NO DUCKING WAY!!! (and probably no ducking way I am going back to that store either!) The clerk at CVS was a solid no - with integrity and honesty, so they weren't an option. The clerk at the Walgreen on 26th street was just not customer service oriented (to say the least), and I wanted to get the damn prescription filled, so I took it over to this Walgreens - on Sunrise and 15th. Not really expecting too much, I walked up to the Pharmacy counter with my prescription, insurance card, and driver's license. Alberto was the tech who helped me. I asked him to price out the prescription with my insurance. He was friendly, accommodating, and polite. It took him about 90 seconds to tell me my out-of-pocket with my insurance would be $0. SCORE!!! And Thank you, Alberto!!! An hour later, the computer voice lady from Walgreens calls me up to let me know the script is ready and the out-of-pocket is truly $0! I am heading over now to pick up the drugs, thank Alberto and if I see the manager, let him know Alberto deserves a raise! Thanks again, Alberto! (And dude, if I got your name wrong, it's only because I was excited I didn't get screwed by the lady at the other store!!) read more

It's the big box mega huge pharmacies like this Walgreens that make me mourn the loss of the family or pharmacist run and owned such drug stores of the past. They really cared about you, their customer, and their service. In the drug stores of today, the pharmacist are mere cogs in wheels of giant corporations. They don't know there customers, really don't have time to do that, and appear overworked. I ended up here attempting to pick up a rather ordinary prescription item for an invalid whose doctor had faxed in the prescription. Of course when I went there I had to stand in line for about 20 minutes only to find out it wasn't ready, but told it would be ready for pickup within the next 15 minutes. So, in the meantime I ran other errands and return in 45 minutes. Then, stood in line again only to find out it wasn't ready, again. So, I waited around the store for another half hour, stood in line a while again but fortunately finally was able to get it. read more

As far as these "fast-food pharmacies" go, I was impressed and glad when the pharmacist there informed me that my health insurance were still working with them. Even though you can only renew 3 times but at least I managed to resolve getting the prescription filled, therefore I am giving them a 5! I don't know why these ratings are so low. This is the best and quickest Walgreens I've ever been to. I've been to the pharmacy like 3 times now and they've been so nice - it feels like a little local place. They have no problem answering my questions and are friendly. On the non-pharmacy side, I was checking out the other day and the cashier was so nice that I was kind of caught off guard. She reminded me to put in my phone number for points and wished me a great day. What more do you people want? read more

I always found this particular store to be attentive with their service and to treat other and their team nicely. this was especially true on January 23. After finishing my shopping I went out to the parking lot and my battery had died. I poked my head in to ask the cashier if jumper cables were sold there. JAIAN said yes, offered me a mask to go purchase one, but then offered to jumpstart me himself. He asked permission from the other cashier who immediately said yes and then came out to help get me going. He wouldn't except a tip and only encouraged me to have a good day.! Absolutely incompetent. I had a 4:45 PCR Covid Test appointment. I arrived there 5 minutes early as instructed and to be expected the line was a bit long. By the time I got to the pharmacist it was 5pm. I told her I was there for a test and she informed me that the person who picks up the samples has already left for the day. I asked why they would have a 4:45pm appointment slot knowing lines would take a bit longer than normal and let the person who collects the samples leave? They said he came early today but he's supposed to come at 5. That is so beyond unacceptable to let the person picking up samples LEAVE EARLY without having all the appointments completed. Now I have to spend $150 elsewhere to get my results in 72 hours for a trip. DO NOT DEPEND ON WALGREENS FOR COVID TESTING. The pharmacist "Saire" is the most unprofessional, rude, and worst "health care worker" I have ever come in contact with. After stressing the emergency of the situation in getting a prescription, she yelled at her coworkers and refused to communicate further. With knowledge of the emergency situation I was in, she then took other customers first in non-emergency situations and continued to yell at her coworkers for checking on this prescription. She lacks compassion and empathy and belongs selling retail - not in a health care position where her careless decisions have the ability to alter the lives of her patients. If you have the ability to not go to this pharmacy, RUN in the other direction. I feel truly sorry for those that suffer in her presence daily, I hope you get out of your prison soon!!! read more

I've been coming to this Walgreens for the past 5 years and over the last several months they have made changes to their staffing. There is only one associate after 7pm, where the line is extremely long by 12+ people. The associate at the register handles herself well every time, however where is a manager, I haven't seen anyone else. Mistakenly thought it would be more convenient for me to switch my Rx here from a CVS a few miles down the road. Not only was it not auto-refilled a month after I transferred, but it was not even in stock when I went to pick up said prescription. They said it would be ready the following day, but it wasn't. I finally got my Rx four days late and the address they asked me to confirm was wrong. The employee attitude was apathetic at best so if they don't care to fill my simple prescription on time, I'll find somewhere else that does. On August 24 I saw my surgeon and he gave me a prescription for pain medication. ....I recently had open heart triple bypass surgery. My sternum and ribs were cut and have pain every day. They would not fill my prescription because they insisted the date was August 27. Often a 4 could look like a 7. I said call the doctor. The store manager said it's up to the Pharmacy Manager ...Heronne Pierre-Louis. And whatever she says goes. I went to CVS. They called my doctor and filled my prescription. Bring all your patients and ALOT of time! This pharmacist was unable to run my insurance because "the date of birth was wrong", then after coming inside and waiting 30 more mins (in the inside line) my DOB was now okay, but now (another 30 mins passed) the pharmacist needed the medication approved by the doctor. Yes, the doctor who just wrote it...?... At this point I decided to just pay the full amount and get this over with, but wait.... She was unable to run my Visa debit card... "Declined? I asked" She replied No. "Run it again" I said. She did. "Nope not going through", she said. I asked how much. It was $79.00 (I had $75). I drove to the nearest ATM where I withdrew funds without an issue. If a pharmacist (the most capable leader in that department) is incapable of running one's insurance and incapable of run one's debit card, what are their capabilities???
