This review is for the pharmacy and in particular, the pharmacist Pauline. I have lived here in Gainesville for a couple of years, and while I don't have many prescriptions, the ones I do have are a little complicated. Pauline personally speaks with me to get it right. Sometimes the text message systems that all business use are imprecise and too often, but when I call the pharmacy to get clarification it's often her who sets thing right. The pharmacy is with in walking distance, so it's super convenient. They also allow me or my husband to pick up each other's order, which helps a lot these days. It works. You will get caught up in traffic here. This is an extremely busy area. Flu shot is done. Am glad they offer this, and actually several other vaccines. They have a good assortment of OTC medicines. Am glad this morning to have NyQuil from here, as am fighting something nasty. Tis the season. Parking once here isn't bad. It is quite a busy location. Props to the friendly hard working employees. They will get you checked out in reasonable time. Pleased by how quick vaccine time was. That's good service. Obviously their prices are lower than CVS most of the time. read more

I just transferred my scripts here and i've had issues ever since. I have called to speak to someone on multiple occasions and I am on hold for 20+ minutes and then someone comes on asking me to hold again and then it's another 20 minutes before they hang up. This has happened on multiple occasions. I am currently sitting in the drive thru waiting on my medication update and nobody has greeted me and i've been sitting here. I am going to transfer my scripts bc this shouldn't be an issue to call and answer why my scripts aren't filled when my doctor sent it twice. read more

Probably not really a WALGREENS issue instead of an Apple one, but it's happened enough now. Don't buy giftcards from here, namely anywhere. Scammed out of 100$ as there was a fake barcode card IN the sealed packaging and "nothing" can be done about it. Watch yourselves. read more

5/17/21 Pfizer Vaccine number 2 is now done. No 3rd shot come to my arm anytime soon. I am now sitting around for 15 minutes to make sure I don't pass out on the floor for a three second tan...thanks a lot John Cena, your songs are now on my mind. Once again the smell of weed or a skunk lingers by the Pharmacy. I asked the pharmacist about this and she told me they don't know where this smell is coming from. It has been looked into, but with no answers. I don't care for this smell, but I will leave it at that. The lady who checked me in on April 25th 2021 is the same lady who checked me in today. She said hello in her friendly tone got me squared away. The woman who did the injection was a different lady than last time. I did not enjoy the arm injection last time and preferred a butt injection this time around, but alas, it didn't happen. "C'est La Vie said the old folks." Five more minutes to go and I can go get something to eat. I haven't seen anyone else come in for a shot yet. This is fine by me. The wait time wasn't long and I can soon be on my way. Great service here. Does billing correctly. Handles variety of insurance (including TriCare) without any hassle. Very fast response.

Had a prescription for a shot that my doctor deemed medically necessary. Insurance would only pay for it at Walgreens. The Pharmacist gave me a hard time and questioned why I would need such a shot, completely disregarded the prescription and assumed she knew everything about my medical history. I tried to explain that my doctor has done extensive labs and has a vast knowledge about my situation but she didn't care. I went to another Walgreens down the road and had no issues at all getting the shot. They were also much nicer. read more

A new drug store in the Gainesville megaplex - opened two weeks ago - it's located in the Virginia Gateway retail complex and the first Walgreens in the immediate area. I went here ostensibly to get some razor blades - the last three times I've gone to Giant to try and buy a quantity of Gillette Mach 3 blades - they are always out - seems like they can only allocate one peg hook for these blades. Jackpot! Walgreens had several choices in quantities - I opted for the 12 count. I also used the opportunity to stock up on other stuff: trash bags, zip loc bags, Rolaids, and a bit more. The employees here are very friendly and helpful. One clerk asked if I needed help - and the cashier was also friendly and delightful. I will be coming back here again. read more

This location is disturbingly bad. Their pharmacy text notifications are consistently inaccurate and the staff seems confused by the most basic questions. We had to go back three times and still did not get the prescription due to a process issue that was handled when the prescription was submitted. The whole pharmacy group needs to be changed out. It is hard to trust anything that they do. read more

Noticed a theme with this Walgreens location. They want to force you to purchase their store brand. They try to accomplish this by restocking lots of their Walgreens products and not restocking any brand names. Only have that trouble at this location. If you want brand, choose another location. read more

I live near this store and find it easier, cheaper and more environmentally friendly to walk to the stores in this area. Normally I would go in the store to pick up a prescription but because of COVID-19 I went to the drive through where a solid piece of glass would be between me and the store clerk. You can guess the rest. They not so politely told me I have to have a car to get my prescription. Now it is not like this is a busy place where someone might run me down. In fact there was a car behind me waiting in line. I ended up in the store face to face with the sales clerk. I was disappointed that Walgreens management can't see to adjust a few rules during a pandemic for the safety of their staff and customers. read more

Happy New Year. What a pleasant experience on January 1, 2019. I ordered three photo books on December 31, 2018 do that my parents could take it back to Germany. We called on the next day before their flight departed to check on the status. After all, the store had advertised that same day pick up was available. Unfortunately, the store's printer jammed, but Barbara, the store manager pushed the order through and finalized all three photo books beautifully. Even better, she discounted the already discounted books by 50%, which I did not expect. I tried to talk her out of it, but she insisted. I will take the extra trip from Warrenton to come back to Gainesville. Thank you for putting a smile on my face on the day when my parents had to travel back to Germany. read more

Yesterday the Walgreens pharmacist took the time to help me find an online coupon for a prescription, that will save me $240 by the end of this year. She literally found it for me using my iPhone and then applied it to my order for me. I don't really ever see this kind of service anymore. Popped in here for some Thera-Flu sadly though they were all out. So we chose a generic and went to pay. As we got to the register we asked the clerk if they has any and she apologetically said no and told us there was a delivery on Tuesday which was very nice. Visited this store today and found out that an employee who I was later told was a Manager. Walking through the store with "NO MASK". Upon inquiry I was told it was because of a health issue. Well COVID-19 is a health issue! Then as I stand in line to pay for my items and a woman enters the store and then decides to put her mask own. You signage clearly states you must have your mask on. Huge ripoff from their pharmacy. Got a prescription filled there only to discover that they're prices were nearly ten times the price of similar drug stores. Even for a generic script, their price for 60 pills was over $85 dollars compared to $9 for the exact same size and dosage! This was the second time we were charged so much and will be the last time we go there. They were also under staffed, and we had to wait for some time before getting some help. read more

This pharmacy is the WORST pharmacy ever. My husband and I sat in the drive through for 15 minutes without being acknowledged. Not even a "hello, we will be right with you." I work in the customer service industry and I was APPALLED by the way we were ignored. People go through the drive thru for a reason. I was called and told my prescription was ready for pick up, so I headed back to the pharmacy drive thru only to be told it wasn't even ready. Imagine my frustration. I typically never complain but the lack of customer service is just horrendous. I truly hope you can get some pharmacy techs who can actually do what they are PAID to do. read more

Just wanted to say that I usually have a great experience at this Walgreens. The sales people are usually really helpful and friendly. But over the past two weeks, the managers Christopher and Jonas (spelling?) have went above and beyond. I've had a few problems and concerns with my photos and pricing on an item. These guys really know about customer service and how to make sure their customers are happy. They know how to take action and make decisions on their own! I am truly impressed with how they handle concerns and complaints. Jonas even came to my house to deliver photos when my order got mixed up and I couldn't get back to the store to pick them up, and applied the coupons when they weren't applied in the first place.I just found that these two managers "get it" when it comes to customer service!They have both went above and beyond. Good job, guys!! You do better than 95% of the other customer service people I deal with on a daily basis! read more
