I'm a full-time RV'er and every month I have my son pick up my medications and send them to my current location. Let's face it everyone is extremely busy and we've all got use to customer service lacking. The original Walgreen's I used was no exception, but it was out of the way for my son to pick my medication up, so I flipped to this Walgreens. The service, at the pharmacy, has been nothing but exceptional. Henriette, took the time to understand my unique situation, looked up discounts and contacted my insurance in order to make this transition as smooth as possible. The pharmacy drive thru had me wait 30+ minutes & cars behind me were getting mad. I decided to leave and stand in the long line inside. By the time I got inside, they were starting to answer the drive thru again and by the time I finally got to speak to someone they said it was more than the cost they originally said. No one looks happy & I never write reviews just left feeling awful. I think you can improve if a customer is being left in a drive thru for a longer period of time to come over and check in and let the customer know next steps & if it's easier to come in or wait for a little inside then that would have made my experience 100x better. read more

I use to live in Tempe and the Walgreens by my house was quite literally my favorite store, going there multiple times a week (or day). This location in Gilbert has been the very opposite experience. In the latest news, I get a text that my daughter's prescription is "Delayed", and it also says I need to "update insurance information". I call the number supplied and go through all the automated prompts and it says "sorry your order is delayed, please call back in about an hour" but doesn't reference anything about insurance. So I call back and Press to speak to a representative and no one answers, call again, same thing, call again, same thing, then they're at lunch. I decided to drive down there and see what's going on. They said it is an insurance issue, that they needed updated information, so I give them her Blue Cross and her State Disability Insurance. They don't take her Disability insurance which seems f'ed up (CVS does) , but it's not her primary, so whatever. The lady at the register is trying to enter in the insurance and says "it keeps telling me it's not a valid group" I tell her, it's Blue Cross, Blue Shield and I work for ASU and I'm sure its user error. Her and the pharmacist spend 25mins trying to problem solve, and they finally figure it out and then say, okay now we have to fill it, we haven't yet due to the insurance issue. How about you fill it and worry about how I'm going to pay once I get there. This whole time they are apologizing to every car in line because of another issue, OOS, was suppose to be mailed from another pharmacy but wasn't. Meanwhile, my daughter who was in the emergency room last night, is at home with an extreme temp, and she's waiting on medicine that was supposed to be ready first thing this morning. Whoever is in charge of oversight at this store, and sounding like others in the area, is failing. Time to cut the cord with Walgreens. It's been real. read more

NEW HOURS- SAME BAD SERVICE: Not a pharmacy for people who work- They are closed on Saturday and Sunday and close by 6 during the week. When are people who work supposed to get their prescription? If they are short staffed- maybe doing split hours or being just a bit more thoughtful of when people are actually available to pick up their medication. The Walgreens app and this pharmacy often tell a different story about your prescription- what's ready- what's been refilled- etc.... And the speaker in the drive through is absolutely terrible. It breaks up, crackles and is not loud enough, especially if you have a taller vehicle like a truck or SUV. The speaker is located so low at the bottom, I literally cannot hear people unless I turn off my truck which is super great in this 110 degree weather. I got there to the drive thru at 5:57 pm one time and they were still there shutting everything down. I waited and they ignored never saying anything to me or acknowledging me, then turned out the lights at 6 pm and left me in the drive thru. Often we have to take 2 trips back because they left out someone's medication or even though the app says it is ready they don't have it ready yet. So yeah- looking for a new pharmacy. I wonder if CVS is any better? read more

I had nothing but an amazing experience at this location, with all the help and patience with the sweet girl, Nova. She was so helpful and just sweet as can be! There was an older lady in front of me and I noticed she stopped and thanked her for being so helpful and it was touching. Then I experienced it myself and was blown away with the service she provided at the Photo Center as well as up front with the registers. She was literally running the place with little to no help with the other lady sitting at her register not helping while Nova had a line of 6+ people. Overall she was a blessing for me that day and it did not go unnoticed! read more

Swung by to pick something up at the pharmacy at 1:30 and they were closed. I was told they left for lunch and would be back at 2:00. If the hours they have posted as being open don't include lunch, they need to amend them, or maybe they should stagger their employees lunch break. read more

Let's face it, Walgreens is expensive for most every item you buy in the retail section. Got a Tdap booster and was extremely impressed with the pharmacist. Super easy registration and covered by insurance. read more

The man who works there got annoyed with me that I could figure out why the photo wouldn't upload to get a picture printed. When I went to pay the lady asked me how come I didn't put in my card to pay yet and I told her to wait. Damn, I was thinking how much cash I had on me. She was rushing me on my damn day off and it wasn't even busy in there. The people who work at this location aren't the sweetest of people. read more

I should have definitely read the reviews about the pharmacy before making it my on file at my doctors office for prenatals. they gave me my first prescription for prenatals perfectly fine I paid two dollars. my next refill I called and and she said she couldn't find my insurance. So I said it was fine and I would just pay for out-of-pocket. Which was still only two dollars. I get there a couple days later (today) and she's about to hand me my prescription but then asked if I have insurance and I told her yes. I think it was the same girl i spoke to on the phone. She then said she can't give me my prescription because she can't find my insurance. account she then tells me to call my insurance and come back in an hour because they are going to lunch right then and there. Her and another employee asked me to move because they wanted to go to lunch, and I had created a line because they were stalling on giving me PRENATALS. literally an over the counter prescription. She told me to come inside and just buy some over-the-counter, but that cost $25-$50 for a bottle versus just paying two dollars with the pharmacy and I told her that she then shrugged her shoulders and asked me to move out of line ‍ i changed my pharmacy immediately to frys and they found my insurance within the minute and had my prescription transferred to them IMMEDIATELY. never going to walgreens again especially this location the girls are too young to be working there, petty and immature. wanted to rush to get to lunch smh they literally had my prenatals ready i had been receiving the calls to pick them up too. smh smh read more

This used to be my go to pharmacy but of late they've become so unreliable. Just yesterday, I called 8 times and I never got a single person to answer my call other than the automated service which was of no help at all. The message said pharmacy people are on lunch break from 1:30-2:00 pm. I called at 12:30 and I got a message saying they're on lunch break. It's very inconsistent. I couldn't get anyone else to answer the phone either. Several times their line just went dead and I had to hang up. It's ridiculous. read more

This review is solely on Ashley in the photo department. Ashley went above and beyond my expectations of customer service and I hope she gets recognized from this review for it. I have never been to this Walgreen's photo department, but because of a great sale on canvases, I went ahead and ordered three 11x14 canvases of my family. Canvases are advertised as same day, but Ashley called to let me know that they had run out of 11x14s, but made sure to let me know they'd be done by Friday. I just picked up my canvases and they look like great quality! Thanks Ashley! read more

Booked an appointment for a Covid test for a cruise. Received a call from the pharmacy stating they were closing early and I needed to be there within a half an hour, I was still at work. Rushed there, took the Covid test and then was told by the pharmacy tech that they would have the results to me within two hours and if I didn't have them then I could stop in the next morning to pick them up. When I asked the pharmacy tech if I could call rather than come in as I was leaving and would be either in the airport or on a plane when they opened, she wasn't sure if that could happen. I took the Covid test probably 30 minutes before they closed. I have never received my testing results and had to arrange for additional testing elsewhere. Do yourself a favor and find another test site if you need actual documentation that you are Covid free. read more

Other department is good, but the pharmacy is awful! I called on Monday confirming about my prescription the person I spoke with said I had to get a refill from my doctor and I told her they just need to fax them. Wednesday I called to confirmed and the person I spoke with said everything was good to go. Did not hear anything back so I called Friday to see why my prescription wasn't ready and they told me my doctor never responded back. So I called my doctor and they said they never got a fax or a call. So now I'm out of my prescription until Monday because I thought it was being taken care of already. Long story short, I would not recommend this pharmacy. Seemed like anyone can work there, I've seen people who would help me when I pick up pictures to all of the sudden they are in the pharmacy department. The wait time at the pharmacy is absolutely ridiculous!!! I called a prescription in on Monday night. Still wasn't ready tuesday night at 9 pm. I see that a lot of reviews are about the pharmacy, and I can't speak to that (maybe they should make that separate). My review is regarding the store and I have to say that I love coming here. Every time I walk in, they greet me with a "welcome". They are friendly during checkout and always willing to help with whatever you need. They have a great selection of items in all departments. This pharmacy has really earned its low star rating. I took my child here last night to get meds after an urgent care visit. The pharmacist was having trouble with the insurance and left me sitting outside the window for an hour with my kid in pain while she dealt with other stuff. She did call the insurance company and talk with them which is the reason I'm giving 2 stars not 1 star. However, it would have been helpful if she told me how much it would cost to buy the meds out of pocket. Instead, she said "sorry I can't help you." Then, she put the phone down and closed up the pharmacy. read more

Syringes at this Walgreens are $17 for a 100ct package. The exact same syringes are over $30 at CVS. I'll keep coming back at those prices!

A poorly thought out and horribly managed company. Zero accountability. Guess what - when you call your "local Walgreens pharmacy" You speak to a post high school associate who could absolutely not care less about your call. Call them; its aparent. Furthermore, the call center's in Florida and has no idea of your specific branches hours of operation, which is inexcusable with the technology available today! Seriously?!?!!!! Recent call: "Yah it'll be read in like an hour". Well, I'm in AZ, its 8AM and you're 2 hours ahead and my branch doesnt open until 10AM. I escalated my concern with a manager who admitted the "well known" disconnect with their call center and the retail locations. We're not dealing with missiles here people, but medication is important. I've had 3 other fumbels with Walgreens in the past and today I moved over to Frys. NIGHT AND DAY. You speak with a firm member at THAT location (amazing concept) and the the level of service and tact is 5 diamond. They seem to care. Granted we haven't had any issues at this point and I don't forsee any. However, based on my initial interaction today, I feel confident they would handle it with more empathy and corrective action then the Walgreens boys and girls. read more
