Prescription had been renewed and I asked (and paid for) next day delivery to my home. The next day I checked online and the message was "out for delivery." Had not been delivered by 8 pm so I called. "Out for delivery" means "we have prepared the label for USPS pickup which will be tomorrow and maybe your prescription will be at your home in two to three days." My package was sent to another town's post office (1), to big city distribution center (2), back to 1 back to my town's post office, back to 1, back to 2, back to 1 and, finally and for the third time, back to my town's post office. Delivery was 11 days after order for next day delivery had been placed. The only problem I've ever had with this pharmacy, but folks who use it need to know it's better to put on your walking shoes and go yourself - you'll get your medicine 10 days sooner. read more

This review is based solely on picking up prescriptions. We have a few of our scripts here because this Walgreens location is superb at procuring high-demand meds. We arrived at the drive-thru recently to pick up a prescription for our daughter, and we were greeted by Valerie. Since it's that time of year when medical plans roll over, she initially thought that the script wasn't covered. We let her know that it was in fact covered, and she very politely asked us to hold tight while she did some research. Long story short, she handled everything, and we drove away with a prescription that was covered by insurance. Insurance companies are the epitome of evil with their ever-changing coverage allowances. We pay exorbitant premiums, and then they decide to not cover something because it would affect their bottom line. But I digress. When it comes to prescriptions, this store is one of the better ones within 2-3 local zip codes. And a special shout-out to Valerie. She's an outstanding ambassador. read more

Everytime I come to Walgreens on broadway it's issues. They open at 7 am, pulled up at 725 it still locked. Someone had to knock to up lock the doors so we could come in. The air conditioner has been out forever so it's always super hot because of summer. Pull up to the pharmacy that suppose to open at 9 people walking in to clock in at 859. 905 they still open registers, clocking in, opening windows, etc. If it opens at 9 y'all need to be ready to help customers at 9, not getting ready at 9. Also prescriptions online will say ready at a specific time, just to drive down here and they aren't ready at that time. Hire more 2 people and fix the store please. Thank you read more

We just moved to La Porte and my wife needed to get her meds from another State. The Pharmacist, young lady, was very helpful and cheery. She even welcomed us to La Porte as new residents. We bought several items, more than we needed, while waiting for the meds. The store was clean, well lit and definitely well stocked. read more

I have worked in La Porte since 2006 and can't imagine a week where I haven't visited this Walgreens location. The location is in "old La Porte" and is around serveral small businesses. The staff is always friendly and always willing to help. There is one associate that works the front registers there, that deserves a lot of credit, and her name is Candy (might be "Kandy"). Gosh! Candy has been there, as long as I can remember and is always a pleasure to talk too. She is always ready to help and always is recommending new products, that Walgreens may have recently picked up. The really nice part is that she knows that ad pretty well too. I remember there have been times to where I have gone in, not looking at the ad prior, and getting something, and then at the checkout counter, Candy says, "Hold on one second, there is a Walgreens coupon in the ad paper too." Now, that's what I call customer service!!!! THANKS CANDY!!!! Other then Candy, the sore is always "well lit," with no burned out bulbs or anything like that, and is ALWAYS CLEAN!! Now, I have been to some "grungy" pharmacies and this is not one of them. Management is always around and always showing that they are there to help too, which is nice because they don't think that they are "better" then the rest of the staff!! read more

I have shopped here the whole time I've been "stuck" in old La Porte, myself. I find the stock to be extremely limited, the staff pushy and the overall store kind of decrepit. Does not even compare with the store on Underwood or esp. Space Center. There are two people there that seem to care about customer service but the others, even Candy seem to care about pushing you through the line and out the door! I used to go here once a week, now I'm down to once a month if I have to. Management, pharmacist and everyone but Cosmetics seem to be downright hostile. read more

Horrible Pharmacy staff.... Will send you a message saying you can now pick up your medication and then you will get there and it won't be filled. I went inside to talk to them and they didnt even notice me for about 15 minutes and i had to be like EXCUSE ME!? I will be changing pharmacies tomorrow... It scares me to know that these people are handling my medications... read more
