This CVS Pharmacy experience was bad, really bad…read more After being rear ended in a car accident, I was rocked. I was in pain and my neck was crazy stiff and shoulder was hurting. I could not lay down comfortably nor sleep. So when the awesome Dr Cho at Haven Urgent Care took such good care of me and prescribed 2 medications via this adjacent CVS, I showed up after the 45 minutes to a horror show. The other reviews about the totally mean spirited and just stupid Pharmacy Manager Hien Nguyen are spot on and dead on balls accurate( " My Cousin Vinny"). I was next in line and had been waiting 11 minutes when Ms Nguyen smiled and vigorously waved to the lady behind me and said " Come on up". I figured maybe a quick hello but she went on to tell her friend about her pregnancy and just about everything under the sun - 27 minutes. Ms Nguyen would look over at me every 3-4 minutes but .. nothing! Not a word not be right with you.. not sorry I did this...! Finally another lady came up to help and things went further south. I showed her my id with my birth date and also offered my SS number so she could quickly look up my DOD benefits card. She just declined and said " No, can't do this." Go sit on that chair( no please) and we will call you. Please note this was maybe 47 minutes waiting in line and I was in excruciating pain... Finally after another 12 minutes, I just got up and left. I did take a photo of these two ladies. I did tell the Store Manager who seemed to have dealt with these complaints prior...I called CVS customer care the next day. They took the details and apologized. I just did a 5 star review for a CVS in New Hyde Park, Long Island NY. This was at the other end of the spectrum. My advice - find a different pharmacy other than the CVS on Haven just north of Foothill Blvd.

Plenty of parking in this location since it's in such a huge plaza. Check out was a tad busy, even in the self check out, so I was directed to the returns for checking out. Stock and selection was decent, a little bit messy and disorganized in some places but makes sense with the sheer size of the store. Was able to get toiletries for a friend's visit, all for under $30 with multiple items, which isn't too bad. Not the cheapest, but it's convenient to shop at Target and know what you need to get and know that it's there.

This has to be the worst experience I've ever had with a pharmacy. There are two issues at play, one is about communication and the other is about their customer service. Communication: my prescription was sent over on a Saturday and apparently it was out of stock, but I didn't know about this until I called Monday and got past the automated machine. Why couldn't Walgreens notify me about this so I can green light that they order it on my behalf? They have my number in the system. How much longer would they have had me waiting had I not called? Anyway, the central issue here is that on Monday I told the pharmacy tech to put in the order and she said that she would but tomorrow because it was too late to order it that Monday. Fine, no problem. I guess I can continue waiting. On Thursday they wouldn't answer my call, so I had to get my girlfriend to call for me to ask about my prescription status. The pharmacy tech told her that day that the order had never been placed and that the medication wouldn't be ready until the week after and this is what really got me upset. First of all, how are you not going to tell me that the medication was originally out of stock? How are you not going to place my order even though I had already requested it a few days ago? How much longer am I going to have to continue waiting? Then on Friday I show up because they don't answer the damn phone and the pharmacy tech tells me that the order won't be ready until the week after. The pharmacy tech then gets the smart idea to look around the counter and guess what, magically the medication I needed was there. So obviously, there is miscommunication here between the staff and it's causing it to look like the employees are lying to me. You're telling me that if I had not shown up that Friday, I would've had to continue waiting for my medication even tho it was there this entire time? How disappointing. Do better, Walgreens. Customer service: I call the pharmacy and once I get past the automated machine and get on the waiting queue, someone in the pharmacy picks up the phone and puts me back on hold, causing me to never speak to anyone. This didn't happen once, or twice, or three times, it happened over six different times on three separate occasions (Monday, Thursday, Friday). I know they answer the phone because the machine stops playing music/ talking, I hear some background noise, and it goes back into queue, causing me to wait some more and ultimately I end up talking to no one. At one point I waited as long as 20 minutes to try to speak to someone, and no success. On the Thursday that they wouldn't answer me, I had to get my girlfriend to call and they answered her call with no problem. What a coincidence huh? Then on Friday I call the entire morning and the same issue, so I have to drive to the location just to see what is going on. This experience was so bad that i am pulling all of mine and my family's future prescriptions out of Walgreens and heading to CVS, that's how bad this experience was. I am reviewing this because I did have COVID. I think at some level WALGREENS should be held legally responsible for the way they do businesses. I leave that up to hungry attorneys. I'll start here at a a simple question. If you have someone you care about, love them or say you care about my recommendation is not to reply on Walgreens at all. This coming from a man who was a caretaker for a man 10 years of his Parkinson's life I never used Walgreens very often but did not find out just how bad WALGREENS was till I needed to use them as a Pharmacy when contracting COVID. TODAY I finally got to get my medication almost 5 days after my initial need for the meds. Sadly I would not wish WALGREENS their app or website on my worst enemy. That's saying alot considering that I have been in IT SINCE 2001 and marketing shortly thereafter. Their website and App is sadly the worst I have ever seen. Again here are my recommendations. Do not trust WALGREENS from a man who decided to trust them I will assure you it could have been the death of me. I believe it will and could be because of their negligence the death of others we well. If it was not for me REEVALUATE myself at a urgent care and getting all the medication reissued through CVS I may not even be here to share with you how bad WALGREENS was. Here is where WALGREENS FAILS. 1. THEY HAD NO DESIRE TO HELP ME WITH MY PRESCRIPTION OTHER THAN TO CONTINUALLY DIVERT BACK TO THEIR WEBSITE OR APP. The only way I got my prescriptions was to drive through the window after I was no longer sick and no longer needed the medication. I BELIEVE WALGREENS FAILED MISERABLY. I'm genuinely surprised by the low star rating for this Walgreens pharmacy because my experience was nothing short of excellent. The store is impeccably clean, and both the pharmacy techs and front counter staff are incredibly friendly, helpful, and efficient. I received fast and attentive service from the pharmacy techs, who went above and beyond to assist me with my needs. The front counter staff were equally polite and accommodating. I just had to share that this Walgreens pharmacy off Haven in Rancho Cucamonga was so kind and caring when I had an issue with the Walgreens off carnelian. The Walgreens pharmacy off carnelian messed up my sisters meds and actually delated the one she needed ASAP. I have issues with them in the past. I walked into Walgreens looking for watch batteries the employee that was at the checkout seen me walk in and said good morning is there anything I can help you with? I let him know that the batteries were so small that I couldn't see the numbers on them so he came over and showed me a battery size machine that works great , said thank you and bought them. When I called them back they said that's the cost with my insurance plan but they never offered me the out of pocket price which is always an option. If I hadn't realized that it was available over the counter I would have continued paying $53/month for this $10 a bottle medication?!? When I go to CVS if my non-insurance cost is cheaper than what I pay with insurance they ALWAYS tell me. This pharmacy does not advocate for their patients and knowingly let me overpay for a prescription for a generic over the counter medication. $40 may not be a lot for some people but it could make the world of difference to some and if this happened to me, I wonder how many people have paid more than they should without even knowing? I will never go back there ever again.
