The makeup and skincare products are limited. You would get more variety at a CVS or Walgreens. Better yet, go to Sephora or Ulta. They always have deals and promotions going on (BOGO, 99 cent clearance). Sign up for their rewards program for even more. The associates are knowledgeable and helpful with product recommendations. I speak the same language, and to be honest it seemed like the waxer was not being fair towards the trainee (telling her to do something and then getting upset at her for doing as she was told). It was a very uncomfortable and tense atmosphere. 2. The woman who did my waxing kept trying to thread my face. I do not like threading but she didn't listen to me. She said she is very skilled at threading, which I'm sure she is, but that's not what I wanted. If she can't do just a face wax and has to thread, she should inform the client of that before the appointment begins. She ended up just waxing but was very upset about it. 3. She kept slapping the wax paper on my face. LITERALLY. She was hitting my face with her open palm and an unnecessary amount of force. My face kept jolting every time she did it due to sheer force. I told her if she does it again I would be leaving. She told me "you never told me that I was doing it too hard"...I'm sorry, do I have to tell you not to slap something onto my face??? What kind of logic is that for a beauty salon? After I said this, she said "Well I told you threading would be better". It felt like she was just upset I told her not to thread my face and was being petty. 4. She raised the price of the service. It was supposed to be $25 (I got it without the neck), but she said it was being changed to $45. I told her that isn't fair, as the sign says $25. Again, she should really be advertising these changes. The wax itself was fine, but this is one of the tensest and most unprofessional beauty salon appointments I've ever had. Usually a couple of the ladies behind the counter are discussing something or someone is giving orders and I understand things need to get done but when I'm the only customer it would be nice to pay attention as they will quickly be able to get back to whatever they were doing. The girls in the shop suggested that I do the trial before an event so I could make the most of my made up face. I went to a wedding later that day and received nothing, but incredible compliments on my make up. Second time around, I returned for my shower make up. Ashlee was working a different event and wasn't able to do my makeup, instead I had Jessica. Jessica was so lovely and personable. She chatted with me the entire time and mixed colors to find the best shade for me and my skin tone. It was amazing. Then for my big day, the store was so accommodating and they were happy to travel wherever I needed them to. It was greatly appreciated that their travel time was already worked into the price. I was only expecting Ashlee and Jessica, but we also got Nicky at no extra cost! All three of them were wonderful and worked very efficiently to make sure that each of my bridesmaids, my mother, and I were all well taken care of. Ashlee was even happy to pause on her way out to help touch up my makeup after I smudged it. Highly recommend working with Muah. Their store is super cute too! Our family has worked with CVS for the better part of 15 years. We have have had the opportunity to get to know Kristen and Sandra as well as the male pharmacist (I am forgetting his name) intimately. Each of them warm hearted, empathetic, patient and understanding. HOLLY, on the other hand - aggressive when speaking, interrupts, says she will hang up. While I was extremely frustrated closer to the end of the conversation, it was warranted as I listened to her explanation of the process, I had CLEARLY ASKED if she could then listen to my question and concerns without being interrupted. She continued to interrupt me. Then spoke assertively which then spun me into raising my voice. She threatened to hang up on me. In fact put me on speakerphone, using her associate's names against me. Horrible. I am left with disappointment and disgust. Horrible bedside manner. ***IF we did not need to change pharmacies due to insurance reasons, I can ASSURE CVS that I would be moving pharmacies regrettable IMMEDIATELY. I hope for the sake of Westwood CVS' customers needs, that she is a temporary pharmacists covering for the head pharmacist who is hopefully on a well deserved vacation.
