They have a large variety of brands for shampoos, conditioners, masks, serums, toners, and dyes. One of the best things about Sally's is that they cater to all hair types and textures. They also sell styling tools/equipment for salon professionals. If you want nail polish, this is heaven for you. There's enough here to build your own at-home salon. The makeup and skincare products are limited. You would get more variety at a CVS or Walgreens. Better yet, go to Sephora or Ulta. They always have deals and promotions going on (BOGO, 99 cent clearance). Sign up for their rewards program for even more. The associates are knowledgeable and helpful with product recommendations. The place is nice and clean, unfortunately customer service is absolutely nonexistent. In today's world, where one can find and buy -without the headache- anything online is sad to see how good places have such rude employees that force customers into buying from competitors. The best beauty supply store around! I go to this Sally's for my hair color because everyone who works here is very nice and helpful. If you're trying to do your own hair at home, the staff here are knowledgeable and will help you find exactly what you need. Sally Beauty Supply doesn't have a great amount to offer in the beauty supply world but it is a convenient place to stop by if you need 1 or 2 things. My hair curler recently broke (been going through curled-hair withdrawal) so I needed a new one. I stopped by here and they had over 10 different models of curlers. This place is great for curlers, straighteners, blow dryers, etc. I spent about $50 and I am really happy with my purchase! I see a lot of complaints about the sales associates but the lady who helped me was very knowledgable and assisted me in finding exactly what I needed. I do not suggest coming here for makeup, nail care, skin care, etc. The stock is poor and the prices are higher than normal. I usually go to Harmon for all of that. I was buying extensions and asking the associate a bunch of questions since it was my first time ever dealing with them and she couldn't seem more annoyed or bothered by me. I felt so rushed to make a decision and felt dumb by the way she was treating me. If I'm going to spend $150 on extensions and she was able to make a sell, I would expect her to be patient. But that wasn't even the worse part. My total came to exactly $151.78. I didn't have a single so I gave her $170.58 and got NOTHING back in change. I will admit that I rushed out since there were people in line behind me but while I was sitting in my car before even leaving the parking lot I realized it. I went back in and she insisted I gave her the exact amount of money and that there was no manager on duty. I have also called a total of 15 times (phone records to prove it) and the line is constantly busy so I'm assuming somethings wrong with their phones, not the smartest thing for a business. I understand everyone makes mistakes but not giving me back $19 in change is a pretty expensive mistake to make. I will never be back. I'll take my business where associates aren't rude and actually know how to handle my money. read more

I went in to buy hair product and was immediately helped by two ladies that seemed passionate about hair and all that in girl stuff which is important in a place like this. I have gone to the Sally Beauty Supply store in Hackensack at least 15 times since I first found out about it and every single time I have gone in, I've always been treated with really bad attitudes from the workers. They all seem so miserable and like they hate their jobs. I have never received such horrible customer service as I have in this store. I love the products but I find myself not wanting to go there anymore just so I don't have to deal with their bad attitudes. If they hate it there so much find a new job ladies! She was too busy talking and as I was leaving I checked my receipt wrong discount was applied. Went in minding my own business, associate asks if i need help, OK SURE I NEED SULFATE FREE SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER PLEASE. she shoves two products in my hand , great im done ready to check out, she continues to try to sell me things i didnt ask for, im ready to check out thank u... i Needed sulfate free to not undo the treatment i had done at the salon that same day. In the shower i realize this shampoo is really lathering. .. i check the back..IT HAS SULFATE IN IT -_- IT UNDID THE 200$ treatment i had saved up for , for christmas. Called to complain, no sorry no cares, tells me she can give store credit, upon askin her who was the employee who "helped" me . CLICK. she hung up. When it comes to shipping, this place is horrible. I order hair extensions online and paid extra for two day shipping. I'm now on day five and currently waiting for them to still be delivered. When we called the store and confronted them about it, they did not seem like they wanted to help and resolve the problem. Very unprofessional if you ask me.
