This review makes me wish I could give a half star. Three and a half stars would be a more accurate rating, but there are a few factors that tipped me over towards the 4 star review. It's rare to find a pharmacy that doesn't make you want to murder puppies (joke; I love puppies). This Walgreens has a decent staff that isn't the usual bumbling mess found at most pharmacies. There have been a few mishaps over the years, but with nothing close to the problems I've had at other places. The pharmacists and technicians recognize us when we come in and engage us in cheery conversation. I was surprised one afternoon when the pharmacist asked how my son was doing and if his eczema was improving. It felt good that he remembered something like that from weeks before. In terms of the store, this location is above average. The place is always clean and organized inside. The aisles are free from the clutter and carts of overstock and returns you see in some locations. I visit this Walgreens at least 4 or 5 times a week because everything is easy to find. Staff in the store is either really great, or really... not great. There are a number of cashiers that are the sweetest people you'll come across. They remember you and greet you like friends. Unfortunately, there is also less friendly and less helpful employees working here. It's really a bummer because their poor attitudes stand out even more since some of their coworkers are great. I've gone through an entire transaction without one of these bad ones looking at me once or even talking to me at all! The parking situation isn't too bad either. It does have the occasional clustermunch, but what place doesn't in San Jose? There has recently been panhandlers loitering around the doors. It isn't terribly inconvenient, but I'd rather not deal with that of course. At least it's not aggressive. This is my go-to location for anything and everything. I fully recommend it to any type and temperament. How this helps! read more

From cashiers to pharmacist, they are rude , unprofessional and has a sucked attitude to customers in general and I don't think this review can change their attitude , but at least can let people know how bad this place is and why the manager dont do anything to fix it after they got so bad reviews... so just stay away from this business if you want to get the headaches from those rude people .... read more

I had an iPhone with a Net10 account which requires customers to "refill" their airtime minutes. I had previously bought an $25 dollar card, went home and found out that I had purchased the wrong package. Luckily when I asked for the manager, Darrel, he was able to give me store credits (since the system did not allow him to give me a refund). Darrell really stepped up and tried to help. In the end, I felt really happy that he at least tried to compensate me by giving me a gift card (equivalent for the amount of the Net10 account.) I came into Walgreens with my two brothers to get our passport photos taken. I asked the guy at the photo dept about the prices and he was really nice and informative. My mom was inside her car so I had to get her. When we came back, someone else assisted us. It was a employee wearing a vest outfit. When we said we wanted to take our passport photos, she rolled her eyes at us as she turned around and made a big sigh. Sort of grabbed the camera with attitude as if she hated her job, in this case, she probably does. Instantly did not want to work with her anymore since we're such a nuisance. When she took my photo, she keep telling me to "look straight", so I stared right at the camera. She looked at me again and said "look straight, this isn't a selfie." She kept repeating herself and just began to look annoyed. What else did you want me to do? Lol. She was immediately getting impatient and I felt so rushed over a photo. Listen, I hate retail jobs, been there, done that. I used to work at a CVS and I HATED it. I don't expect you to be super happy or welcoming, but don't be rude. I've had my worse days at work, but I always keep a neutral attitude. Anyways, everyone else was nice. The lady at the register I came to next was super nice and friendly. If you're gunna take your passport photos here, don't ask her since she won't be patient with your picture taking, because I hated how my pictures turned out. read more

This rating is for the Walgreens pharmacy. If I could give zero stars, I would. For the last two months the pharmacy dropped the ball on my family's prescriptions. Both times my husband called in a prescription over the phone and then followed up with call to a person at the pharmacy desk. Each time the person confirmed that the prescription was on order. After checking a day or two later, we were informed that the prescription was never ordered!! The person at the desk confirmed that it should have been ordered but someone forgot. This happened 2 months in a row; and this time we were not able to get the medication because the we were outside of the window of when it needed to be picked up. We've been coming here for about 7 years now and this is the last straw. We will move all of our prescriptions elsewhere!! read more

I've been going to this Walgreens for as long as I can remember but lately they been getting on my nerves. One day there was a super long line (which happens that's fine) but then one of the employees was holding up the line because I believe she was using her discount and she kept going BACK for more things. This went on for about 20 minutes. She was basically shopping for a months worth of groceries and chit chatting with her coworker while at it too, making it even longer. It was visibly clear that everyone behind her was getting frustrated knowing that an employee was holding up a line. There's nothing wrong with what she did but it could've been much faster. Another time, I THOUGHT an item I bought was $5 but it was actually a $5 cash back reward. The writing was so small that I missed it, which is an honest mistake. When I asked the same lady if she could price check it for me she said "you HAVE to READ the label" in the most condescending way. like yea sorry but it was so small I must've glossed over it, I was fine paying with full price anyways but they made it seem like I didn't know how to read. I'm pretty sure they badmouthed me after I left too. It also took forever to get a single price check bc all of the other employees were chit chatting away like always. I've been going here for a very long time so it's disappointing to see long time employees become more rude and less helpful as the days go on. read more

Pharmacy tech DM was very thoughtful and knowledgeable about the cost of my medication and provided great customer service. I told him about my situation just as an aside and he advised me on how to get refunded once my new insurance was processed. I see a lot of jaded pharmacy employees and DM is not one of them. I probably only like the photo department! It's pretty straight forward, and I usually get a nice and polite response when I ask a question. Photo Machines are very accessible, and other customers hardly ever want to use it. Good for me then! Just the iffy thing about this Walgreens is that I tried to call ahead of time for the photo department, and kept ending up on hold or on the line with the pharmacy department. The line automatically calls a different department if the department you want didn't pick up. Probably because no one was at the desk at the time. All other parts of the store pretty average. Small but not that busy, which is a plus since I go here for quick purchases! I'm just waiting for composition books to be 30 cents again (Back to School sales)! read more

It had just opened when an accident occurred at that corner... It was a tragic accident... And the manager of this Walgreens was very helpful... Pharmacy has terrible customer service. I came in on a Wednesday morning to drop off a prescription that needed to be ordered. I was told it would be here by Friday at 12-- the next day. I came friday night and my prescription had been "misplaced". I had to wait the entire weekend with an infected gums around my wisdom tooth extraction area and then some for my prescription. This review is for today April 19 at 2pm. I had to do a quick run for some air freshener and i went to the counter to buy my item. First off, the cashier did not greet me. No hello, NOTHING. I work in a business with customers and no matter how my day is going, I always say hello to a customer and ask them how they are doing or how can I help them. It is STANDARD customer service. The next thing really pissed me off. Another customer asked her a question, and with ATTITUDE the cashier said "IT'S RIGHT THERE." Seriously lady? She said "hello" and I quickly grabbed the receiver, but it seemed i was not fast enough. My desk phone is about 2 feet away from where I sit. It was just about 2 seconds after I heard her voice. Thank You Juana, you are Awesome! I was at Walgreens on Quimby and White Rd in San Jose today with my sister and we were helped by a Wonderful cashier named Juana! She was in the film department i believe and though we were waiting in main checkout line, she waived us over and said she was open. Wow, she went so overboard with service we were awed. Even went back to storeroom to check for more inventory as we needed more of an item and shelves were empty of it. Most places just say No, and dont bother to ever check. Well she found some and brought it out, was Patient, kind, pleasant and so very nice I dont usually do reviews but had to ask her name to acknowledge what a great person and employee this store is lucky to have! I have rarely seen this sort of excellent service anymore and was amazed by her which gives this store a lot of credit for having employees like Juana. Thank You Juana for making our shopping trip to your store such a pleasant happy event. DON'T GET YOUR MEDS HERE! 1. Waited 30 min for meds. 2. Over charged me for meds. 3. Then they discovered my insurance was not in the system, they start to type it in. 4. I'm waiting and observing; again, now its 45min of waiting. 5. I overheard pharmacist call my insurance card issue a "SECOND PRIORITY." 6. She didnt know I heard her; I kept my cool. 7. Pharmacist calls me up, insurance not going through, someone will call me in regards to my issue, kept receipt. Over 1 hour went by. Reassured me someone from the pharmacy will call. 8. Annoyed but gave her the benefit of the doubt but had a feeling she was lying because she didnt want to deal with my insurance. 9. Almost three weeks later, no call. 10. Go back to pharmacy, refreshed her memory, she has no idea or clue what im talking about. 11. Push back issue on me, stated I was suppose to call insurance not her. 12. She could not issue refund, my med purchase was passed the seven day refund policy. 13. Pissed off now! 14. Complained to manager, stated he will tell the district manager, gave him my number. 15. Waiting for call. Overall, this happened because the Pharmacist didnt want to deal with my issue and blew me off not once but twice. Still didnt get anything resolved. I might write corporate a letter. UPDATE 3/12/2017 It just goes to show the management doesn't give a rats ass about customer concerns! I'm still waiting for my call from the district manager! I ended up calling my insurance company to get a refund for my medication and told the insurance representative what happened at Walgreens and how my "insurance didn't go through". The rep put me on hold and called the Walgreen Pharmacy to see what the problem was; when she got back on the line, she stated the pharmacy staff put wrong information in the computer, this is why my "insurance didn't go through." So because they screwed up, now I have to do the foot work and mail a copy of my Walgreens receipt and medication prescription to my insurance company to get a refund. Later, I received a call from the pharmacist that she called my insurance to see what the problem was and how she can straighten things out? I find it funny the same day my insurance calls, the pharmacist calls trying to help me? I really found this not to be true and felt she was lying to redeem herself; which pisses me off more! Again, she apologized and stated they are just so busy, blah, blah, blah. I explained to her this shouldn't be her fall back excuse because she didn't want to take her time and do her job the right way! It boggles my mind how something so simple blew up to what it is, this has take so much of my time and energy, it's ridiculous!! This is what happens when the Walgreens pharmacist views you as a second priority and says screw you, and gives you the don't call me, I'll call you bull shit! It's also very concerning that she is handling the publics medication and isn't taking the time to do the job right the first time around!
