I know there are a slew of negative review on here regarding the pharmacy... I've only come here for the FedEx shipments and it's been nothing but a positive experience! The staff is friendly, efficient and gets the job done. They are also open on Saturday's (FedEx) which is a plus since other FedEx's in the area are closed on weekends. This is one of the worst if not incompetent Walgreens I have ever encountered. The staff is rude etc for maybe one or two. I changed from Hazlet to Sayreville. Hazlet has two pharmacies and both were pleasant efficient and super helpful. This Sayreville location is awful. I don't know why they don't have more check ins by District management etc. You walk in the line is so long almost to the normal checkout registers. Those behind the pharmacy almost pretend like they don't see you. They act busy when in fact they're checking personal cell phones or whatever. I've been talked down to told to wait for a text regarding my script, when I in fact received a text stating it was completed. I don't think they put enough training into new staff. They walk around like oblivious. I really don't understand the issues there. I also don't know why it's so unorganized. There were three people filling scripts and seems to me 2 new trainees left to fend by themselves while at least 15 people waiting. All in line had same response how terrible this location is. I've yet to see the same actual pharmacist in there. Either I move my scripts to South River or find and entirely new pharmacy all together, maybe one that isn't a chain. I hate going there. I hate the attitude they all have. Mostly young adults who quite frankly should not be working in customer service. Worst pharmacy ever. read more

This pharmacy is horrible. I got transferred from rite aid to here which is across the street because rite aid closed. This has to be the worst pharmacy in the area. It takes 20+ minutes for the pharmacy to answer the phone. When I go in the store they have like 10 people behind the pharmacy all working but always hear the same thing how busy they are. Over the years I've had small problems with Walgreens at Raritan Street. But recently, I have been unable to have a rather significant prescription filled. If I could give it a NEGATIVE 5 stars I would. The pharmacy here is terrifying. The pharmacist is very nasty, they don't seem to have their heads screwed on right there. The only reason I've gotten anything from here is because of the hospital sending it to this location since it's closest to my house. I rather go out of my way to a different Walgreens in a completely different town. Honestly after my experience with Walgreens at this location I wouldn't even consider another Walgreens. 1. They are so lazy. I had a prescription sent the night prior from being in the ER and doctor said to grab it in the morning as it should be ready. I get there to pick up the medication and they said it will take 10 minutes. I ask them to send me a text when it's ready I will come back since I live nearby. 45 minutes go by and haven't heard from them. I go inside and I am told I have to wait since it is not ready. Off the bat I said no way am I waiting- how did 10 minutes turn to nearly an hour? I watch them get my medication ready in under 2 minutes. They didn't care to make it when I had gotten there earlier in the day. 2. They are so careless. I picked up my son's medication and came home opened it up and they just gave me the jar WITHOUT THE MEDICINE IN IT. If that wasn't bad enough I went back to get the medication and THEY GAVE ME THE WRONG ONE. 3. They have no regard for anyone actually needing the medication. These people literally just spin like ballerinas and think they are in Lala land. Are they the ones taking the drugs? 4. They apologize but continue to make the same mistakes time and time again. If that's the case are they really sorry? Hope corporate really looks into this location and their pharmacy crew. And if they have they didn't do a good job. read more

When you go in to drop off a prescription or pick up one. There will be at least 4 people behind the Pharmacy counter and no one even acknowledges you are there but they all look up and stare at the line of people. You would think one of them would start to help at the counter to get the line moving, or at least say "someone will be right with you." They are so unhelpful and rude. Came here to leave a review and I see that I'm not alone with my experience. The pharmacy staff here is the absolute worst. There were 4 people behind the counter and 1 at the drive through. I waited at the counter for nearly 10 minutes and not a single worker had the courtesy to even acknowledge me. This is not an isolated instance as this is the case every time I go to pick up my medication. Rude is an understatement, I will be sending an email to every executive of Walgreens. Literally stood in line 30 mins for a flu shot to be told if I don't have insurance I have to pay $57 for a flu shot. I asked the pharmacist how when it supposed to be free he said no its only the covid vaccine. I dont know if it's discrimination because im black but I didn't see anyone else turned away or give there insurance card for a flu shot. read more

Horrible Walgreens with blame completely on the pharmacy. My doctor called my order in last night, I get there, and it's not ready. The girl with the curly hair then tells me it will be 20 minutes and I come back a half hour later, still not ready. The guy was then able to put it together for me quickly and I get the bag and it's only one of three prescriptions My doctor ordered. 10 minutes later the guy comes back and tells me they don't have the medication. Extremely unprofessional. I'm sick, it's snowing out, and I just spent an hour out of my day in a Walgreens that should have been 5 minutes. For FedEx shipments I have never had an issue. When it comes to the photo department I can't even tell you have often the machines are down. Don't expect same day prints. Over the last 5 orders four of them were more than two days the previous order they ran out of 4x6 photo stock and took over a week to get it. I understand things happen but don't accept the order or have it processed at another location. If your going to advertise same day anything make sure you can get the job done the same day -- you don't advertise it as Maybe Same Day do you? No. read more

Walgreens on Raritan St. Sayreville is the worst. Their communication is horrible, automated phone service is terrible, they will never get on the phone in person. My Doctor sent in a prescription for renewal of my heart and blood pressure medication. They took 15 days to fill the prescription, I was without medication for 10 days which could have been catastrophic. They will not answer the phone other than automated . I finally went there in person and got jerked around but they filled it with an attitude. The people that work there are inept and irresponsible and do not care. Somebody can die from not getting their meds. My wife had the same problem with her meds. Never get an answer. I will be pulling all our prescriptions from them and filing the necessary complaints. If I had to give zero stars I would. This has to be the worst Walgreens I have ever came across. The customer service is horrific. The drive through is ALWAYS slow. I've called multiple times for the pharmacy and they always put me on hold, it rings then goes on hold again or I actually hear someone pick up and then they put it on hold again. It's really unprofessional for the staff to not do their job because everyone is not capable of going to the pharmacy just to check if there medication is ready or have an important question for the pharmacist. Just hung up the phone after waiting on hold for 20 minutes with another caller ahead of me to see if my scripts were ready. Waited 31 minutes last time. Obviously grossly understaffed and the staff that are there aren't too eager to help in a tImely way. I'm here now and they sent the one medicine i need most to a different store and then blamed the doctor. Store itself is dingy with old, dirty and worn linoleum floors and half the selection of a typical Walgreen's. Strange setup--at least 1/4 of the entire store is walled off in the back with nothing there, just unused space. Only go here bc of location. By far the dirtiest and shabbiest Walgreen's I've ever seen. Disgraceful. read more

I will never shop Walgreens again. This is more of a general Walgreens issue rather than an issue particularly with the store on Raritan St. I don't smoke but I was buying cigarettes for someone who does. The cashier wouldn't sell me the cigarettes unless I showed ID. I'm close to retirement age so there's no confusing me with someone under 21. He insisted I show my driver's license. I thought it was just to verify my age because maybe they have a rule for seeing the age of anyone who buys cigs. I gave him my license and without telling me he quickly takes out a scanner and scans the bar code on the back of it. So now all the information on my driver's license is now in a Walgreens data base. What the heck gives Walgreens the right to scan all the info on your license because you want to buy cigarettes? This is a total violation of your privacy rights. I googled about it and many others feel as I do. Walgreens has had legal issues with divulging personal information. I won't do business with a store that unnecessarily collects information on you. I never had any other bad experiences at this location. read more

This Walgreens Pharmacy has the worst customer service. With three children and my mother living next door I'm picking up prescriptions constantly. I have honestly not had one smooth pick up. Their computers are always "timing out" or "loosing my express pay account information" or for some reason not processing my (very good) insurance and need to call the insurance company - lengthening my what should be 5 minute pick ups to about 35 minutes. If it isn't their system error it is their awful staff. They would rather do anything in the world than have to assist the customer - especially in the drive through. If your local I would switch immediately to the Rite Aid across the road from them. read more

Every time I go in here, the workers are friendly. I love the clearance section you really never know what you'll find there...and the post-holiday sales. I go in this Walgreens after holidays because I know I'll find a great deal to use for next year!!! The only issue I have is with the photos...I had an underwater camera purchased at Walgreens and they seemed to have lost the film since I brought in the camera. Trying to figure out how that is possible..wouldn't you keep all the film in one place? Aside from that, this Walgreens is great. read more
