I know I had reviewed badly in the past, but since this is the closest Walgreens to my place, I went here yesterday. My trip went well this time. The pick-up order was not even the 30 minute frame that they gave. The staff were quick, understanding, and accommodating. The products are of good quality and well-arranged. Three weeks for prescription?!? First it was out of stock, then insurance said it was too soon (yes, I would run out in 2 days). Next, Out of stock for three weeks. Checked status and it was cancelled. Now it's in Stock but takes pharmacy 24 hours to fill. Really poor service. read more

The pharmacy customer service is terrible and putting customers health at risk. Called in a refill on Friday and did not get an update in 24 hours so called Saturday and got a recording the pharmacy is closed till Monday. It is now Tuesday and still not filled or any update. Given this is one of the few pharmacies on the mountain that takes our insurance this is totally acceptable!! read more

One of the worst Walgreens experiences I've ever had. We live in the Phoenix area and travel to Show Low. I take Ambien at night, and my prescription was refilled on May 28, 2025, in my home city of Gilbert, Arizona. My doctor reset the refill for the Show Low Walgreens for pickup on Tuesday, August 26, which is exactly 90 days. I've been refilling my Ambien every 90 days for a decade. The pharmacist said they would not refill my prescription until August 27, claiming they only refill controlled substances on the exact day they're due. the refill should be on August 26. The pharmacist disagreed and was very rude and disrespectful, essentially calling me a drug addict and accusing me of abusing the medication. I had to contact my doctor to inform them that Walgreens was incorrect--the medication was given to me on May 28, 2025, which is the date on the prescription bottle. My doctor rightly notified the pharmacist that the medication should be released. This has been the worst experience I've ever had with Walgreens, and I would never recommend them. It's a shame because the Walgreens in Gilbert, Arizona, are fantastic--they treat us like family. Unfortunately, the Walgreens in Show Low, despite being a small town, treats me like a drug addict. This pharmacy used to be challenging at best. Long lines and nothing ever ready I have to say in the last few months they have really stepped up their game. Arrived to PineTop to discover I left behind one of my medications. I called my home pharmacy in Phx, no problem they informed just find a pharmacy and have them transfer the script to them. I called Walgreens, the person on the phone said it would take a minimum of 24 hours to transfer, no problem, that's better than not having my medication for my diabetes. 36 hours pass and I hear nothing. I call my home pharmacy and they told me Walgreens hadn't called to transfer the medication. They informed me it is such an easy process they recommended I find another pharmacy and they will call and initiate the transfer. Within a few hours Walmart had my medication ready for pick up. If Walgreens doesn't want to help patients simply let me know you won't be able to complete a transfer. read more

This place never checks the voicemail. My doctor left a prescription on the pharmacy voicemail. I went to pick it up 3 hours later and they tried to tell me they didn't have a prescription for me. I asked them to check the voicemail and they came back saying they found it but it wouldn't be ready for 30 minutes. No respect for anyone's time. read more

My granddaughter and I waited in a line of approx 20 people at the pharmacy. After a wait of 40 minutes we were next in line for picking up my prescription but...., a technician announced the pharmacy was closing for lunch! When I told her that there were only two of us remaining in line and that we had been in line for over 40 minutes she barked at us that there were signs everywhere stating lunch hour closing time and the closed the pharmacy window on us! The other customer and I looked all around for a sign. None in sight. I've no problem with staff having lunch. I'm not ok with being barked at or with the rudeness. Split staff lunch times or place prominently displayed signs. My 90 day prescription gives me time to locate another pharmacy. read more

Waste of time and gas! We made a trip to the store because of the pricing on the Walgreens website and found the pricing in the store was higher. In addition, the coupon listed under the 2 for 1 ad did not apply. Our clerk was unpleasant and made no effort to help us. Who doesn't respond to good morning? We made a 2nd trip with printed documentation (website price, coupon etc). Sam was pleasant and helpful, but we ended up getting a refund because the items were still much less expensive at Walmart since the coupon did not apply according to fine print elsewhere on the final receipt. I have complained multiple times before but maybe I have finally learned my lesson. read more

I can't speak for all Walgreens because it's a mixed bag but recently I had an upset at the Walgreens in Showlow Arizona. I went to the manager to talk about the issue. He was very kind to me and gave me an insight to the difficulties of supplying drugs in the large area that the Show Low store provided. He let me know how caring his pharmacist were towards the needs of their clients. So, I waited patiently and my prescription to finally arrive. I am very grateful to that manager for his kindness and caring for me and his pharmacists. read more

I phoned in for refills on prescriptions and went to pick them up 2 days later. There were 3 cars in front of me at the pickup window and it took over 30 minutes to get to the window. I was told the prescriptions were not ready but would be ready in about 45 minutes. After 2 full days they needed another 45 minutes! Not to mention the woman at the drive thru was RUDE! read more

The problem here is that they need to hire additional people. Not one or two, but this pharmacy is so busy they need an additional 5-8 people. There is rarely less than 5-6 people in line and if anyone has a question or insurance issue you are in for 30-40 minutes of waiting. Very slow and disorganized store and pharmacy. The store fails to rotate and fill stock! I recently paid for gummies candy that was way past the sell by date. They were horrible. I didn't return them due to their long lines. The pharmacy is also Extremely slow and has failed to fill some prescriptions timely. When you have to wait a week for a prescription, or after waiting in line for 45 minutes they ask you to come back later... that's a problem! Hire competent help please. Order and stock items, rotate stock, open 2-3 lines and not just one that requires long waits. Very poor customer service! read more

I had an appointment for a flu shot at 6:30pm per their website. I show up on time and there is a line of 6-8 people picking up prescriptions. I check with person handling drive ins and she says just get in line. I made an appointment on their website. I wasn't a walkin. Got a lot of nasty looks from everyone in line for prescriptions. I will never go to Walgreens for vaccination appointment. I don't suggest you either. They are not honored. read more

ZERO.. I have been on hold for over 2 hours and 7:00 pm came and went and still on hold! I hung up and called the manager at 7:03. He said no one at pharmacy. My Dr inadvertently called into Walgreens as I NEVER use them and rest assured, I NEVER will. To leave ur job while people are still on hold is totally unacceptable. The pharmacy was supposed to fill a prescription for me to have ready on Monday, Aug. 6. I dropped it off exactly one week ago, July 31, because I left on vacation Aug. 1. I was told it would be ready yesterday, Aug, 6., and even gave them an extra day to fill it. When I arrived today, Aug. 7, it was not filled. The pharmacist apologized to me because it wasn't ready, and he was quite nice. I get home, a half hour away, and find I was shorted by 40 pills. My prescription was for 120 and I received 90 pills. I am livid. The pharmacist told me he didn't have enough pills to fill the prescription yesterday and forgot to fill it until I came in today to pick it up. Then, I get home only to find out he shorted me. He is totally incompetent. I called the pharmacy and was told they'd get back to me within a half hour, which they did, but now I have to wait until tomorrow until the bozo pharmacist comes in and they can determine how and if he shorted me by 40 pills, which he did. I've never experienced such incompetence in s pharmacy in my life. I, unfortunately, have to deal with these utter idiots until I go back to California in a month. read more

Well, I guess I'm another one to join the loonngg list of negative reviews. Ya know, all of the businesses, in Showlow that I've used have been friendly and desiring to be of assistance. However, Walgreens, (store(#05090) is another story! My doctor called in the script at 10:30am. I left the doctor office and went to pick it up at a little after 11:00 thinking I could wait a little bit for them to process it if needed. At the window I was told I'd have to wait 4 hours before pickup. Now, mind you, these prescriptions were for pain mgmt, muscle relaxant and an antibiotic, plus I live 45-50 minutes from town. I'm 72, I was in pain, and my head wasn't really in a safe driving mode, so I didn't want to have to drive myself back into town in the afternoon to pick it up while I was feeling so crappy. I explained and pleaded but she got very rude and basically told me that none of that mattered. Walgreens, Showlow AZ fails miserably in fulfilling the first sentence of their Walgreens Mission Statement which reads, "We will treat each other with respect and dignity and do the same for all we serve." That's a joke. No basic kindness at all. I then took my business to their direct competitor, CVS (#02412) who's Guiding Purpose states, in part, "We listen, show empathy and deliver innovative solutions that serve peoples unique needs and earns their loyalty. Because how we deliver our service is just as important as what we deliver." CVS listened to my needs, showed empathy by expediting my script and they have indeed earned my loyalty. So your doc calls in meds at 10 AM and at 7 PM it takes over 30 minutes for the drive through to figure out their head from their rear. So it may be beneficial for Walgreens to hire more staff or schedule accordingly. read more

I'm very sick and my prescription was put on hold because of "insurance issues". The website said no action required so I figured they were working on it. WRONG. The next day the prescription is just gone from the website so I call to see what's going on and they say they have no insurance on file for me. Common sense says then call me and ask or at least put it on the website but no they put no action required. I know the Walgreens in phoenix has my insurance so wtf. I would rather deal with the devil than yet staff here. I went thru the drive thru and the tech told me my insurance denied the request. Today I called my insurance and they said that the scripts were never even run. Today called to ask why they lied about even running it and they tried to lie to me again and when I called them on it they put me on hold for 1/2 an hour. I would recommend any one else. The pharmacist went out of his way to explain why my 90-year-old father did not qualify for the Covid booster shot. (He isn't immuno-compromised so he needs to wait another month...even though he's 90 years old). I don't know if it is just this day or what but customer after customer has been complaining about long waits. The line was about 15 people deep. I had a kid with strep throat and had to wait 1.5 hours. They said they would call when it was ready. After 1.5 hours I can back in. Line was still long. They said there was a hold up with one scrip. I guess I am the lucky one. I have used this pharmacy since it opened and although there were a few small SNAFU's, I have had good experiences. I had confusion over why two glucose readers on my husband read within 2 points, on me it is as much as 40 points difference, even trying three! With the same blood at the same time! The pharmacist spent quite some time with me trying to figure it out. She was very helpful. I usually don't go if there is a long line but haven't had a problem with that too much, so never wait too long. I usually use the drive thru though. read more

Just for encouragement , as an ER physician, we are seeing so many flu like illnesses, and all family members need treatment if just for prevention if FLU exposed, same for STREP , and so many did not get a flu shot that would have helped....so your health care system, hospital clinic and pharmacy is over whelmed with medication needs ...but there to help. New to this area, needed a prescription, which was sent to this Walgreens. My wait was only approximately 15 minutes in line. The reason for the wait - I could not believe such rude, abusive customers! And the techs and pharmacist were still so patient and working with them! When it was my turn, very professional and friendly. I've been back three times since, and witnessed the same thing. Either this area is populated by simply rude obnoxious people in general, or they're all congregating at this Walgreens. My husband was released from the hospital on Saturday. The hospital case manager before his release had negotiated the cost of one prescription down to $68.00. She even sent a coupon showing that amount we were supposed to pay. When we went to pick it up, the price had suddenly rose to $177.29. We needed a box of ten. She added four more out of the box to change the quoted cost. I will never use Wallgreens pharmacy again. The thing is , I was a pharmacy tech in New Mexico. I know this game. I have to take the time and compliment on the daytime manager by the name of Max, who helped me on June 30th of this year. I was attempting to obtain 9 prints from my phone camera and having so much difficulty with their self serve photo section. My phone would not download to their equipment and after several attempts, I remained very frustrated. Max came along and what a kind and decent fellow. He reconnected the cables...rebooted the operational system...attempted to correct the issue yet we hit a brick wall. He suggested to simply download the Walgreens app......follow the prompts for photo copies and they will contact you via email once the printing job is complete. This not only streamlines this task but avoids waiting in line to access the kiosk station. Thank you to this employee for taking the time to walk me through this process.
