I'm extremely happy with Seabrook Classic Cafe and highly recommend supporting this restaurant! My first experience here was actually during a pretty stressful situation. My vehicle broke down at the dock at Lakeside Yachting Center during a storm, and I couldn't find a tow company willing to come get me. I ended up being stuck at the dock overnight. The staff at Seabrook Classic Cafe were incredibly kind and let me come in to charge my phone while I figured things out. I was very hungry, so I ordered their egg sandwich, and it was fresh and delicious. Even though I live about an hour away, that experience made such a good impression that I came back later to try more of their menu. I'm happy to say everything else I tried was just as good. The stuffed jalapenos were excellent, very flavorful and stuffed with crab and cheese. I also ordered the chicken fried chicken, which was great, especially with their toast. The fruit bowl was fresh, and of course I had to get another egg sandwich, which was just as good as I remembered. They even brought us a complimentary slice of carrot cake, and it was fantastic. I'll definitely be coming back again to get more of that carrot cake, and next time I'd also love to try their prime rib. Our server was very friendly, and I really enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. It has a cozy, retro diner feel that makes it a great place to sit down and relax. This place has history and it's beautiful! We've been coming here for years. Never a bad experience! Food is always perfect! Drinks are great! The bar area is chill and usually full of locals. Fun! They still have their pre-prepared pies and cakes in a cooler ready to pick up near the entrance. Although the parking can be a bit challenging at busy times. Wow! The shrimp & grits were to die for! It was such a great dish! Very flavorful! I love that the sausage was cut up into small bites and it wasn't overpowering. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, as were the grits. The warm thick bread was great for sopping up the juice. So tasty! I also really enjoyed the Iceberg aka: "mimosa on steroids"! This is a frozen screwdriver slushy with champagne on top. If you order the large, you get a plastic keepsake cup to bring back with you. Beyond the food, my waitress was impressive! The ownership has developed the attitude that the regulars will still come in no matter how badly they are treated by management. It is no longer a friendly local bar as it was before. This has been on my To Do list for a while and when I had errands close by we braved the construction. And I was so glad we did! Quaint little diner with homemade /homey dishes and home baked desserts. Also, a sneaky bar in the back so full bar with any meal. Their specialty drink the "iceberg" is a frozen screwdriver with a champagne floater. It was delicious. Excellent restaurant and bar!! I'm a trucker and I like to patronize Mom and Pops when on the road and this one fit the bill! I had a busy day and was hopeful that I would find a decent sit down restaurant. I couldn't have made a better choice! I sat down at the bar and was waited on by the bartender, Seth, who was helpful and attentive, but it was one of the regular patrons, Tonya, who recommended the shrimp since all shrimp dishes were 30% off on Tuesdays. I chose the shrimp and grits, with 2 sides (I had the broccoli and cheese with green beans). The food was absolutely delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, especially the shrimp and grits!! I had an Arnold Palmer to wash it all down. The portion size was large enough for me to take some of it to my truck to finish up later tonight! We made a trip to Seabrook on Saturday and on our way home Sunday, we decided to stop in to one of our favorite breakfast spots. The food is tasty and the service was great! Joe was very polite and checked on us just enough times that we never had an empty glass or dirty plates on the table. I ordered the San Antonio omelet with the ranchero on the side. The omelet was delicious!! However, the wheat toast was hard. I thought, this bread is stale. But nope, I asked Joe to replace my toast because I could build a house with it! He asked his manager, because it wasn't the first time someone had complained about the toast. The manager told him that the bread is from a local bakery and it just comes like that. I found that to be strange, but ok... The hash browns were also a little dry too. I should have gotten the home fries. The restaurant is clean. The bathrooms are still pretty small, but clean. I love this place all else aside because it's nostalgic and well, Classic! Oh...try the beignets! Yum!! Our server took our order, brought out our food and then spent most of the time gathered with the other servers in the side room during our meal. We are locals and have been to SCC for years and years and it's been a local gem since I can remember but unfortunately this morning will be our last visit. We have noticed the food quality going down and our visits have been far and few in between but it's just inedible. The migas arrived without the tortilla chips cooked in with the eggs. It arrived as a pile of overcooked scrambled eggs and onion. No cheese. Old crusty beans on the side. I told our waitress and she returned with someone having sprinkled tortilla chips on top and cold shredded cheese. The pancakes were PATHETIC, paper thin and tough. I could have thrown them as a frisbee. The biscuit is a subpar hunk of white bread. The place needs a MAJOR wake up call and revamp. We can't be the only ones to feel this way. I saw this place off the side of the road on my way to Kemah and it looked so cute that I had to stop here on my way home for dinner. To start I ordered the house salad which is not on their menu, but they were happy to make one for me. My sister and I shared the fried shrimp platter, house salad, and fried jalapeños and it was more than enough food for both of us. There's also a bar in the back of the restaurant which was convenient since my friend wanted a drink with her dinner. I confess, I've lived in LC now for over 10 years and this is my first time eating at CC. I say that because our awesome waitress looked shocked when I told her this, and she responded, "We hardly ever hear anyone say that!" So after thoroughly looking over the menu, I chose the chicken fried steak w/ gravy on the side, and my SO and her son both ordered chicken fried chicken (they had both been there many times before, but never invited me? Daaang.) I also ordered a glass of sweet tea w/ lemon, which I'm reviewing because it was probably some of the most memorable sweet tea I've had in a while. Fresh brewed, not overly sweet, ice cold, perfect. I had 2 full glasses. Our meals were hot, delicious and comforting, just the right portions to leave room for dessert. Pies, that is. At CC they're kind of a big deal. With 40+ years perfecting their recipes, their pies are EPIC. We ordered a slice of key lime and a slice of chocolate cream to share at the table, and a slice of apple to-go. Those were some serious pies. That apple was my favorite, but each one as delicious as the next. So yeah, needless to say I will be back for more comfort food and epic pie soon! 10/10 read more

We had just finished checking into our hotel room and searched for a nearby restaurant. Found the Seabrook Classic Cafe. We were seated right away as it was around 9:00 pm. The dining room was fairly quiet at that time of day. Rodney, our server, was outstanding as he suggested certain items from the menu and delivered food and drink promptly. Rodney did a great job of looking after us. I had a bowl of the New England clam chowder and the shrimp "po boy". S had a wonderful blackened chicken on a bed of tasty fettuccine. I've heard for years that this is a wonderful spot in Seabrook, but I had not been enthusiastic about stopping just because the pictures from the outside and the inside didn't do it justice. This is a reminder not to judge a book by its cover! When we arrived, there was a waitlist, and the place was jampacked with locals. We waited for about 25 minutes before being seated, that's not bad. It felt like a typical diner, but hidden around the corner was a full bar and sports bar type room, as well as an outside patio. The coffee was simple and good, no lattes or frappes, just good brew. I ordered the Egg Sandwich and it was a power punch of flavor! Michelle ordered the smoked salmon & bagel, it too was perfect.
