Linn owns two places side by side. The dogs have a dog run in the center of the house. They can spend all day running back and forth between the houses. This is a very secure area. Your dog(s) spend the night uncaged in the house. They find their own spot to rest. Linn is alway there looking after the pets. Her prices are very reasonable compared to other places. I was very impressed on my first visit. Everything is so clean and well maintained. If you don't believe me, call her up and set up an appointment to visit her place. She has the credentials to back her experience. She is a member of: PSI Certified Professional Pet Sitter and a Member of the National Association of Pet Sitters. She is certified in Animal First Aid & CPR. She is also Bonded & Insuried. My dogs are usually with me all the time and I am very hesitant to leave them anywhere without giving two hours worth of instructions. Yes, I'm THAT kind of pet parent. Anyways, I stopped by to check out Linn's place before I took my dogs there and it seemed like a great place and all the dogs seemed happy to be there. She showed me around all the areas that the dogs would be in and I liked that it was very much a home environment, instead of doggie daycares that seem very sterile and not like home. It really is like a little dog adventure land that they can explore the many yards and decks and different areas. After the first night I left my dogs there, I ended up staying longer than expected and having my dogs stay there on five different occasions, one that lasted 4 nights. Each time I felt more and more comfortable and really left my dogs knowing they were in good hands and when I dropped them off and picked them up they were happy -- not scared, anxious or hesitant at all. This is something, especially for my newest dog we rescued from an abusive home just four months ago and he is very timid around most people and new environments. There are also cameras you can check on your pets on, although I never downloaded the app or website. That's how comfortable I was, I didn't feel I needed to check on them. Although I appreciated the picture and video updates that Linn sent me! The price is quite reasonable, but don't forget to leave a little extra if you really appreciate the care your pets have gotten, because she works really hard for the little she charges. Especially with my dogs, I know they're a handful! She is also willing to work with you on pickup and drop-off times and she ensures you are the only person dropping off so it is easy for all involved. The extra gates also give peace of mind your dogs won't escape on accident or if they're looking for an adventure, as mine oftentimes do. Linn really has thought of everything here, and my dogs enjoy staying overnight and playing with all of the other dogs who come here. I just wish I could find a place like this in California, but I'll be back next time I'm in town and know that I can leave my dogs safely while I'm away.

I was told she was offered a great deal for the rental and some homemade dog treats. Parking was a bit confusing as the parking nearby the business was full and there was a spot that we think was free to use but not sure. As we entered, we were greeted by a staff member who let us in and the space is huge! There were plenty of toys, a dog pool, and little obstacles for dogs to enjoy to their hearts' content! They even have a hose to fill up the pool or just have your dogs chase around. There were little cubbies and lots of areas to hang leashes, coats, and other stuff on. They had Youtube videos playing too. The dog treats were so creative. They had cannoli, biscuits, and much more. All of our dogs seemed to have enjoy the treats greatly, no treats were left behind. All of the dogs seemed to be enjoying themselves as they just had so much to do or other dogs to play with. Definitely look forward to coming back here to throw future dog parties as our group loves to do little events for our fur babies.

It made me wonder about the ratio balance between humans vs dogs. I had dropped my dog off for a behavioral assessment, as we have trips coming up and I'm looking for boarding care. This is not where I'm personally comfortable leaving my pup, as the ratio seemed to be 1 human to 15 or 20 dogs in an indoor-only, less than 1500sq foot space. The good news is they are so kind and nice humans, if I was rating them they'd earn 5+++ stars as I'd leave my dog in their care anytime! The problem I had was the physical space (super tiny!) and the ratio of dogs, as they allowed 3 or 4 pups to greet my dog while 15 or so were in a hallway-type space patiently waiting and sooooo well-behaved, to greet and play. The space for playing is very limited, about 1/2 the size of a classroom, and while it's clean and the staff are super lovely, it's probably not the best fit for our pup who loves to play fetch and run. Parking is also super tricky in this neighborhood, as there isn't a parking lot or spaces reserved for the business.

I had adopted her from a rescue organization that didn't tell me the whole story about her past which caused her to be leash aggressive and nervous around other dogs. With just 6 weeks of this course, she had come so far, amd Cayce had set us up with a whole host of tips and tricks to work on with her so she could continue to progress after class was over. I only took off one star because one week Cayce wasn't the instructor and it was unfortunately our last class so I wasn't able to chat with her about what our next steps would be. The other trainer was good too, I just wish that I had known she wouldn't be there so that I could have had a last conversation with her!

I sought help from the rescue society and they were able to give me some tips, but nothing really to help the main problem. They recommended that I find a trainer that could help with the aggression, which is how I found out about Cayce. I explained the problem to Cayce and we agreed to start off with a private lesson. The private lesson was enlightening. She gave me some information on the breed that I had not heard and that gave me some insight on some subtle behaviors. Cayce also emphasized how I should interact with the dog and that definitely made a huge impact in how we have bonded. We worked on some leash behavior and of course, my dog in a new situation and without any other dogs around, was the perfect angel. We agreed to just kind of boot camp her and get her into the next group class so we could work on her behavior around other dogs. A few days later, we walked up to the group class where there was a good 12-15 other people with their dogs. My dog again was totally chill and I was feeling kind of optimistic. We walked past other dogs and she didn't react at all. So far so good. We started out with basic commands which my dog has limited proficiency. She does sit when she is sufficiently bribed, but not much beyond that. The class was working on stay and I'm just kind of going along with it and thinking when is she going to lose it and lunge after another dog, so I'm saying, "stay, staaaay, stay" and watching her like a hawk. I'm sure I was pretty funny to watch. Cayce's assistant then comes up to me and says, "Okay, let's try that again, but not so creepy, kay?" Everybody in my little group is looking at me like, "what did you do?" Hey, this is my first class too. I don't know what I'm doing, so give me a break okay. He then tells me I need only say stay once and if she doesn't, then correct. I'm like okay, that's all you needed to say. So, we move on and about 45 minutes into the class, my girl has just about had it. Out of the blue, she decides she doesn't like the lab mix sitting a few yards away. She lets out a huge bark and does a little lunge at the pup. Super. I figure this isn't good, but it kind of is because Cayce can see her bad behavior first hand. Cayce doesn't really say anything and continues on and I figure this is something we can discuss later. So about fifteen minutes later, we happen to be next to Cayce as she is explaining dog behavior and her dog is performing trick after trick to everyone's amazement. Well, not quite everyone. At some point, my dog just had enough and jumped straight up and let out this menacing bark and lunged at Cayce's dog. I pulled her back and tried to contain her while also shrinking in utter embarrassment. Cayce didn't acknowledgement the outburst and continued her talk. At the end, she asked if there were any questions and after waiting my turn, I said, "Um yeah, how do I get her to stop doing that?" Cayce looks at me and says, "tell her don't do that." She then turns back to the class and says farewell and walks away. Don't do that? Wow, why didn't I think of that? (I did...quite a bit. Maybe I was doing it creepily or something). Never went back. Look, she educated me on my dog and there were some definite benefits to that. Cayce's dog is obviously very well trained and does some amazing tricks. That would be pretty cool if my dog could do that someday, but for right now I want to take my dog with me and not ever worry that she is going to attack some other dog. I've found another trainer and will start in again. There were some benefits from our time with Cayce and I'm sure other people in different situations will find benefit as well.
