My garage opener finally failed on a Sunday (of course, why wouldn't it at the most inopportune time?). I called this place first because of all the weekly mailers I would see for discounted services. Figured, why not? The soonest they could get a tech out was the following Tuesday morning, essentially, two days out. I spoke to a couple of reps (all nice, btw) and it just felt like a sales ploy with them. "We are family-based and your in good hands with the best company in the business" blah, blah. Sure, that's great. I asked if they could give me a BASE cost of services in which could not because they weren't the techs in the field....to me, hmm, this is suspect. All companies usually have a base cost of services. Although, ironically, they could tell me the cost of a monthly/yearly maintenance membership I could opt into at the affordable price of $140 per year. Yeah, no thanks. So, by the time this outfit showed up, I already had two other companies come out and inspect for a quote. Unsurprisingly, this outfit was the most expensive at $1100 for only a garage opener replacement and install....and that was after all the supposed "discounts" taken off. Also, it would be an added cost to warranty the labor. What?! Then, this series of barter-like banter happened where the tech calls his boss and explains how I have a much better price somewhere else. The response was about 30% cheaper from original quote at around $800. Nah, I'm good. Of course, to save cost, the other option is to buy item/parts 3rd party such as Amazon, Lowe's, etc. and have them come out to install for you for a fraction of the cost. However, this option disqualifies any labor warranty which I personally don't recommend if having professionally done. Look, I do not mind paying for products/services. Of course, I do not expect them to charge at their price, either. It's a business, I get it! However, to be originally quoted 90-100% more on top of parts/labor is absolutely absurd. Seriously...even at 50%, to be honest. Overall, to me, I find these types of business tactics to be extremely dishonest and I highly don't recommend. Definitely better and honest options in the Valley. Do research, get quotes, and....good luck!

I called about 3 in the afternoon. An appointment was set up for me for a 5 PM to 7 PM window the same day. I got a text with a photo of the tech who would be coming, Jon-Paul. I was also provided a link to the travel of the truck so I knew where he was When the truck arrived, I got a text telling me the tech was at my house. Jon-Paul arrived and with him was a second tech, Dave. We went to the garage to look at the unit I had. After listening to my problem, I had a few options. The one I chose was to replace the old opener. I'm lucky that I got as many years out of it as I did. Working as a team, Jon-Paul and Dave removed and replaced the old opener with a new one. They worked as a great team and the job was done in no time at all! I now have an opener that is silent compared to the old one, and I can watch video on my app of the garage so I can monitor from anywhere and should I leave it open, I can close it form anywhere. I really appreciate the service Local Garage Doors gave me, and it was very enjoyable watching the two men work together so well that the job seeemd like a piece of cake. I recommend this company. I ordered Chamberlain 3/4 HP Smart Quiet Belt Drive Garage Door Opener from Home Depot, it's a bit overkill for this but I preferred something that comes with built-in Wi-Fi. I already got the quote from last time and just needed to double check, it's the same price so I've scheduled the install. Shows up on time as always. The job took a bit over an hour and when it's all said and done, I'm just blown away the quality of work. It's the little things that makes a huge difference! The wires were all nicely routed, they even used the existing wires (to the controller) that I had no idea I even had! Both remotes were already pre-programmed, helped me setup the external keypad. They even included the bulbs (which they didn't need to) but it's a nice touch. I ended up replacing them with LEDs but it's the thought that counts!
