Precision is a 24/7 service with no extra charge for weekends and evenings. The door opener had electrical issues. It could be opened from the buttons on the unit but nothing else. (Car, remotes and wireless key pads).The wire connection box from age, heat and vibration over years had damaged one connection port and shorted out 1 sensor in addition to shorting out wall mount button set. Sensors block door from coming down. They are authorized installer for primarily Lift Master, a top of the line opener and being a senior with a fixed income and uncertain life left, I did not want the top notch opener at a bigger price tag. I was told if I opted to get a new unit (any brand) on my own from my choice of stores, they would install it. I did that and that is why I had 2 visits within 24 hours. VERY affordable installation and depending on door opener features, it can be as little as $149.95. Features like WIFI, back up battery and other things can take up time. My unit was a simple Belt Drive Genie with a wall button and keyless entry. Charges are based on install time. More things, more time, more costs. After the first service call (Dev), I knew I wanted to stay with Precision no matter what the price. I was offered install by Lowes when I purchased the new unit at a charge of $179.99. I declined as I had already called Precision ahead of buying new unit and arranged my appointment for later in the day. Dustin did the install quickly and professionally. I was very happy to have it done and to be up and running with a garage door opener. HIGHLY recommend Precision Door Service. I was concerned about the installation and noise after it was completed. In fact, I was praying the door wouldn't come off and damage my vehicles from the change in noise. Sure enough on July 17, 2026, I contacted Southwest Doors and Gates office (Esmeralda) requesting warranty service ASAP because the door became disengaged and I was concerned about opening the door to get my vehicles out would cause damage to the door and vehicles. As requested I sent photos of the lift and bolt and noted the technician didn't put the clip/pin on the other side to hold arm/lever in place and the end result the door began disengaged and dropped. Esmeralda was unprofessional and told me if I want to pay $200.00 she can send a technician tomorrow, July 18, 2026 or wait until Monday, July 20, 2026 when they do warranty work. I even sent her the Warning Sticker on the door not to tamper with the door so I didn't touch the door and my vehicles remained in the garage and I didn't have any transportation. She didn't care and said I would have to pay $200.00 for the call tomorrow, July 18, 2026. I called Choice Home Warranty and they told me to call Southwest Doors and Gates because it was a warranty issue. I finally gave up on Southwest Doors and Gates / Choice Home Warranty and called an independent company. Thank goodness Open Sesame Garage Doors owner was sympathetic and arranged for a technician early AM on July 18, 2026. The technician identified the issue about the incorrect installation as well as other problems with the install. Originally when I spoke with Open Sesame Garage Doors owner and said that different Independent (Not Southwest Door & Gates) company was going to charge $65.00 he said he would honor it but I told him I was good with the $85.00 since he was sympathetic and would have someone on July 18, 2026 to resolve the issue. Also, I was going to sell my house but decided to stay, I asked Open Sesame Garage Doors to give a quote on both a single and double new garage doors. If decide to sell later, I will feel comfortable that the new owner will have quality doors and great company like Open Sesame Garage Doors.

The technician returned to address the issue, but instead of properly correcting it, screws were removed from other panels as a temporary fix. I did not know if the problem was with the wall remote or the door opener itself and was resigned to having a new opener installed. John-Luke took the wall remote from the wall and connected it directly to the opener to determine if the problem was with the opener, the remote, or the wiring. Turns out it was the wiring and we did not have to buy a new opener after all. John-Luke quoted a price and the length of time the work would take and suggested doing maintenance on the two garage doors and since it had been a year since our garage doors had been serviced, I agreed. The price was very reasonable, and the project was completed in the time specified. A+ Garage Doors will be our first call the next time we need anything garage door related. We will also request John-Luke; not only was he professional, personable, and competent, he figured out the problem after two other technicians with another company could not.
