He looked my system over top to bottom and checked the whole thing for leaks and found it and fixed it and toped it up on refrigerant. Charged a great price and even gave me a discount to help me out. Later in the day when it looked like it wasnt cooling much better he came back after he had already made it home and replaced another part, fixed a fan blade explained the issues and did it all for free!!! For the second visit. Cannot recommend Airtex enough. If you are looking for a trustworthy, locally owned small business for all your air conditioning needs you should use Airtex. I will be a lifelong customer and FAN (haha).

Hours later he called and offered to come by before he started his planned work for that Monday morning. His prompt response, quick diagnosis and immediate repair of our system saved our scheduled vacation! We have used AirTex for many years and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend them for all your HVAC needs.

Last year it was a blower motor that the nice office lady (Julie) had covered under warranty (parts only per Carrier warranty). This year, the 2nd unit failed to respond, I called on Monday, and the technician was out on Tuesday. The owner came along and helped troubleshoot and found the nasty intermittent failure (control board). Julie found one and the technician was out the next day to replace it. Parts again were covered under Carrier warranty and Julie did the work with Carrier. Everybody I have come into contact with at JW Mechanical is 100% professional and personable. I find it to be a wonderful company and group of people.

He gave me a couple of options. When I made the appointment, his men arrived on time, completed both systems in the estimated timeline, and left a clean, neat work area. He called immediately afterward to discuss issues. Ibo is my go to man for any HVAC needs.

These guys did an amazing job. Shortly after closing on our house, the AC went out, which led to…read morethe discovery that the house still had the original 1940s knob and tube wiring throughout the entire house which had been spliced (not to code) to new wire for the added AC and appliances all run to the tiny 100amp service panel. I was 5 months pregnant at the time and being pregnant in the Texas summertime with no AC is a big NO. We called Choate after we'd received an outrageous bid from another outfit, and Walter came out the next day to check everything out. He gave us a very reasonable quote not just to rewire our house, but to also run power to our shop and update the service panel to 200amps. Walter also made sure to come out before they were able to start the work to ensure that we had at least a functioning AC so I would be comfortable. Then the work began and it was discovered that our home was built to be bulletproof lol shiplap everywhere, layers of siding, firebreaks galore, unexpected 2x4s in the walls in random places. Our house put up a fight. Andy and Amon worked their butts off to get this job not just finished but adding things like more lighting in the bathroom and laundry area to exterior porch outlets to make our lives more convenient and comfortable. I cant say enough how much we appreciate all of the hard work and hours these guys put in to make our home better all while remaining kind, courteous (despite the many challenges) and patient with our 4 crazy dogs. Choate electric will be the only guys we call for any electrical or AC needs that we have in the future.

I admit, I had not heard of Comfort Air before, but my internet research of the brand showed me that they rate similarly to Carrier which is one of the top mfg. for hvac. Got a 15 seer heat pump outside unit with a new air handler and coil, in the attic with 20 kw heat strips and a few other bells and whistles. About 8 hours from drive up to drive away and no trash to get rid of. Great experience. James and his crew are very knowledgeable and will answer all your questions. They sincerely want their customers to be happy and informed. Great looking equipment and professionally installed with care!

Nelson Mechanical is bad. The people who come to your home are very nice and helpful, so I don't…read morewant to say anything bad about them, but we are finding numerous problems with their installations and the main office wouldn't return my calls to fix any of the problems they caused. Last fall they billed me for checking that our heat pump was fixed, but turns out they hadn't even touched it, so we plowed through all our oil in the backup furnace. Being an old summer home, we aren't there in the winter, and with freezing temperatures back to back, we are incredibly lucky that I randomly had to go to the island in January for a memorial and nothing had burst yet -- must have run out right before I got there because the caretaker was checking a couple times a month that the heat was on, but didn't think to check the level of the oil since it had recently been filled. When I asked them to go fix the heat pump, they told me it would cost $250 just to go to the house, even though I had supposedly already paid them to fix it. I waited over a week to get a call back. And then when I tried calling again, no one would pick up. I tried calling numerous times because no one had returned my messages, but no one would pick up the phone. My caretaker personally went into the office to see what was going on, and they told him that they had so many clients they "didn't need my business". After all this, I even wrote a letter of apology for calling so many times (they have a voicemail menu, so I went through the menu twice, not realizing that every time I called it rang throughout the entire office, which yes, made me seem like a crazy lady for calling so many times at once...if it was that annoying, why didn't someone just answer??!! ) but I never heard back about anything. Thousands of dollars later, I am still having to get other people to fix their mistakes - pipes not cut long enough at joints and leaking under the house, sinks installed incorrectly with pipes also cut too short at joints so leaking in the walls, etc. When we first had them install the plumbing system, they took away all the old copper pipes and left us with a pile of trash to clean up on our own. I should have known then how bad they are. I know I am writing this review a year after they dropped me, but I am just finding ANOTHER one of their mistakes that is going to cost me another thousand dollars to fix. If they had decent customer care, I wouldn't be so angry about all this. Warning to all of you out there with summer homes -- don't use Nelson Mechanical if you want to sleep well at night.
