Every winter I go to Indiana for a week long visit. One of those days, my eleven year old goddaughter and I have our "date." Just us, at Hamilton Town Center. We have a routine, stores we visit, food we eat. What can I say? Kids like to do things in order. The Walking Company caught our eye and we actually deviated from the planned route and went in. Tons of great boots on sale. One pair especially caught my eye, the UGG Kensington, sort of a biker girl in wintry weather look. Deep discount. But not a sole in my size. And I needed them for an upcoming trip to New England. The cashier checked high and low, checked the warehouse inventory, checked other stores, and offered to keep searching. I explained I was visiting from tropical Miam (and he probably thought I was an idiot, buying winter boots, but was too polite to say so) and he finally pulled out a pen. "These boots are on sale all over. Here is the model name so you can research them on line." We bought some ultra groovy peace sign boots, said thanks and immediately resumed our strict pre-ordained route. I got the boots, they came today from another vendor. Just in time for my trip. So why am I giving this store the big ol' bag o' stars? Because they could have just blown me off or tried to sell me the pink boots they did have in my size (didn't match my tattoos). Instead, the fella spent 20 minutes searching and then sent me in the right direction. We did make a purchase and I will definitely go back again as will my Indiana people who live closer! My Orthopedic surgeon told me about this store & I have to say...my experience was great!! Kylee was very knowledgeable about my conditions, tarsal tunnel syndrome, planters fascists and toe fusion surgery of the big toe. Tried on shoes and ended up getting 2 pairs, tennis shoes Abeo and Abeo mules, she scanned my feet, how I walk and stand and helped me get 2 pairs of shoes that are really comfortable. Rude to poor little old. My elderly mother called to check on an order. The clerk on the phone was unable to find the order and took an adversarial tone with my mom implying she never made the order. Turns out the order was made and shoes were back ordered but we figured this out after a considerable amount time on line and on the phone. The order being back ordered is no big deal. I can even look past their poor inventory system. However, being rude and suggesting dishonesty to my frustrated and confused mother is bad form. I was fortunate to receive assistance from the store manager, Racha. She was superior at fitting my feet into shoes that will work according to my needs. Racha was professional and steered me away from shoes that were not appropriate for me because of suffering from a broken hip that I am still recovering from. I am not an elderly individual who was very surreptitious about buying such an expensive shoe! However, she was patient and kind all the way around! I will definitely return when I can. I am saddened to read a low-rated post because my experience was absolutely the opposite! read more
